Chapter Text

Wednesday was concerned. She wanted to make sure Enid was having a good time at the Weathervane as she needed to bring up the tricky subject of Enid wolfing out the next full moon, which was the following day. Her research hadn’t been too helpful; most werewolf books said each wolf reacted in different ways to the full moon. She needed to go through what would happen with Enid to protect them both.

“Cara mia, I want to talk about the full moon tomorrow. When I first saw you as a wolf I was both terrified and excited. You looked magnificent but I wasn’t sure if you recognised me. For one of the few times in my life I was scared, it was only when you continued to fight the Hyde for me that I knew you meant me no harm.”

Enid smiled a broad smile, which reassured Wednesday even before she started her reply.

“Wends, it's ok. When a werewolf develops later in their life, like I did, this means they are more mature. They are able to control their wolfing out to a much higher level than the early bloomers. When I wolfed out the last full moon I was surprised at how in control I was. I still recognised my human thoughts, and easily remembered I had to save you. You remember when I looked at you after tackling the Hyde for the first time?”

“Of course, that's when I was afraid.”

“At that point I recognised you, and was trying to reassure you. It was a little difficult to control my actions that first time but after the Hyde was defeated I had about an hour with Thing and was able to act relatively normally before I changed back. You have nothing to worry about. Sometimes I might need to run in the woods to let off steam but other times I may just want to curl up in the warmth, hopefully with you if that's ok?” Enid finished with a wink, sending another beautiful shiver through her mate. Wednesday immediately wondered how many of Enid’s winks she could cope with in a day, they always reduced her to jelly.

“Mmmmm yes that would be wonderful” Wednesday replied, grabbing both of Enid's hands across the table, interlocking their fingers together, “I look forward to it.”

“It is painful when I change but I have heard that when you are mated it is less distressing. So would you be happy being with at nightfall tomorrow to help me?”

“Of course! I promise I will be - remember we are never to separate.”

“Except for our school lessons, that's not going to be fun.” Enid frowned at the prospect.

“Don’t worry about that, I have a plan. Why don’t we head off back to Nevermore?”

“Sounds great - I have had a wonderful day. But look it's raining, we will get so wet.”.

“No we won’t, especially not my beautiful brave wolf” assured Wednesday, tapping a message into her phone.

As they rose from their seats, Wednesday guiding Enid up out of their booth, kissing her and and opening the door for her, a large black vintage car pulled up to the curb. A stern looking man in a black suit emerged from the driver's seat and held an umbrella over Enid as he opened one of the rear doors.

“Enid, this is Dante, our chauffeur. Just message him when you need a lift, but only when you absolutely need him as he is busy with his woodworking business. He is a distant relative of my mothers.”

“Woodworking? I would never have guessed”.

“Mostly coffins my dear” Dante clarified, which made Enid let out a little wolf like whine. She wasn’t sure if she’d ever get used to the Addams macabre surprises, but at least this one came with a free ride home. Wednesday rolled her eyes comically at Enid's response with a smile towards their driver.

They both climbed into the plush leather interior and in no time found themselves back at Nevermore, untouched by even a single drop of rain.

The new couple almost ran to their room once they were inside, Wednesday sweeping Enid up the stairs and ushering her inside their shared space.

Enid had been swept off her feet today indeed, such was the grandeur of an Addams being in love with her, but she didn’t want to lose focus. There was a reason why they had been brought together and she wanted to check in on how Wednesdays mental health was coping.

“My darling, thank you for such a wonderful day. I must, although I know it will be painful for you, inspect your bandages and we need to talk about you. First the bandages, please lay on the bed my dear.”

Wednesday was a little startled but did as she was told, then lifted up her long skirt. Enid surprised her by kissing up her legs to her thighs slowly, with more love than passion but it was having a wonderful effect on Wednesday. Enid took her time, with light touches with her warm lips, pausing regularly to reassure her…..

“You’re such a good girl Wednesday.”

Wednesday attempted to speak in reply but nothing came out of her mouth. It appeared that her brain was melting out of her eyes. Which might be a fun experience but what Enid was doing to her was far better. Enid had a way of changing her voice, from a normal girly chatter to a deeper, more masterful tone. It was a good job Wednesday wasn’t standing up as her legs would probably have buckled. She tried to concentrate as she knew Enid wanted to care for her and this wasn’t a sexual thing. Maybe when she was better those words could be repeated though……

“This looks ok, the bandages are clean so I won’t unwrap them right now”

Wednesday silently wished Enid would unwrap her in other ways, she would be powerless to resist anything her mate wanted to do

“How are you feeling my darling? Compared to last night?”

Wednesday snapped out of her trance. With a deep breath she prepared to speak - she knew Enid wouldn’t be happy with anything but the truth.

“I feel so much better today physically - thanks to you my sweetheart - but my mind is still all over the place. I know it’ll take some time to recover but I know I won’t be hurting myself again. I’ve got you to be honest with about that and I promise if I get any urges I’ll come running to you to work it out.”

“My overall mood is still a little shaky. I know there will be a lot of attention on us now we have become a a couple and attention is what I’ve shied away from recently. I don’t want questions from others about it yet. I am able to mask my fears a lot, as you have seen this afternoon, but it’s exhausting. I know you can divert a lot of attention from other people away from me but I’m concerned about when I’m on my own, I hope I can cope. It’s been a rough time recently and I’m not as strong as I was.

Enid looked a little puzzled. She decided to risk a bit of humour to encourage her mate.

“But you are Wednesday Addams, the most feared teenager in the western world! Stand up straight and unleash your death stare - you are an Addams and they fear no one!!”

Enid smiled and gave a Grade A wink to Wednesday. Which made Wednesday smile coyly back and let out a little giggle. She decided to play along, jumping out of bed, straightening her back to stand as tall as her slight frame would allow her.

“Yes! I am Wednesday Addams. Torturer, maimer, bringer of a thousand curses! I fear no one and will defeat everything that comes against me!”.

No-one had ever been able to influence her like Enid just did, it was like she could cast a spell with her words that even her black heart couldn’t fight against. Wednesday knew she could get through this with her werewolf.

“That’s it!” Enid shrieked. She was so proud of her mate - if anyone could pull themselves though a dark time it would be Wednesday - not knowing it was her words alone that had turned Wednesdays mood around in a moment.

“We can get through anything together!” Enid added, pulling Wednesday back on the bed to sit with her

“I know we can cara mia, now what was that about me being a good girl  - do I get a reward?”

Wednesday dipped her head as she said this and looked up at Enid through her dark bangs, twisting one her braids in her hand, trying her best to look all innocent.

Enid grabbed her waist and pulled Wednesday to her roughly, lowering her head to the smaller girls ear. She whispered in an almost inaudible voice.

“I’m going to give you something you’ll never forget. But first, would you kiss me?”

Wednesday wasn’t about to say no to that…..

Notes:

Found this difficult to write, wanted them to get to the next stage of their relationship to be able to carry on in a slightly more positive tone. Hope you like it!
