Chapter Text
They spend three days on Spira as the work crews do their best to fix the Razorcrest with the amount of credits Din can spare.
It's not a lot. (It's never a lot.) But they manage.
Stephanie and the adika spend most of that time, sleeping on the sand under the shade of the trees, recovering from their ordeal and then later drifting on the gentle waves. Well Stephanie floats on her back. The kid lies on her tummy while she does and falls back asleep when he isn't trying to snatch the small silver fish that dart through the water.
The last night, Din wades into the water with them and helps them catch some fish that were actually worth eating.
They clean them which leaves everyone messy and covered in fish scales. The kid sneezes four times in a row due to an errant fish scale on his nose and Stephanie laughs so hard she has to hold onto her aching ribs.
Din is really glad he doesn't have to smell the fish but fish scales on his helmet doesn't make him feel great either.
So they head back down to the water where Din reigns victorious in the impromptu water fight, even if the kid lifts balls of water into the air and flings them at him and Stephanie.
Once clean-ish. They return back to the shore to their now clean fish and proceed to fry them with some delicious seasoning and a few vegetables Din hand managed to pick up from the local market.
It's so good all three of them eat until they're stuffed to death. They lie there in the sand, watching the glimmer of stars and listening to sea song and Din thinks that for that moment everything is okay.
