Chapter 3: Chapter Two

Notes:

Alright, this is admittedly terrible. I'm not the best writer in the world, but at least it doesn't completely suck. Again, comments are highly encouraged, because I don't have enough braincells left to write more. Enjoy!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Uma woke up to the sound of the rain pattering on the windows.

She stretched before climbing out of her bed, stopping to peer out the window at the waves crashing along the shore. It still mesmerized her that the ocean was so large and beautiful. It looked prettier outside the barrier.

She walked into the bathroom and changed into her clothes, coming out a few minutes later. Uma was about to fix her hair when she heard movement outside her room. She stepped out to find Harry slumped against the wall next to her door. Sighing, she gently kicked him. He jerked upwards, rubbing his eyes as he looked up at her.

“Morning.” He said sleepily.

“You know, you’re going to get caught one of these days.” Uma said, sighing.

“Well I’m technically not in the room, and Gil’s too loud.” Harry replied.

Uma knew that wasn’t the real reason he slept outside her room, but she didn’t mind.

Harry had been sleeping outside her room ever since they had arrived at Auradon. It wasn’t odd to her, because he would come over to the ship whenever he needed to get away from his father. He was really careful about it too, as he would be in a lot of trouble if he was caught. He never drew any attention to himself, and always waited patiently until she was ready.

“Well, we should go get some breakfast before class starts.” Harry stated.

“I’ll be ready in a minute, go get Gil.” She replied.

And with that Harry walked off and Uma finished getting ready.

After breakfast, all the kids left for class. They sat down, expecting to start their lessons as normal, but they were met with something else when Fairy Godmother entered the classroom.

“Good morning students,” She began.”Now before we begin, I have something important to tell you. As you all know, flu season is approaching. I want to be sure you are all aware of this and take the proper procedures.”

The class exchanged looks while Fairy Godmother explained how all of these new expectations were to be followed.

At the end of class, the Vk’s met up in the hall.

“So what’s all of these new procedures about?” Celia asked, leaning agents her locker.

“The flu bug’s going around again. FG always gives this big speal on proper hygiene and stuff, so it’s nothing new.” Jay answered.

“So do we need to be worried about this, or is the lady being over dramatic?” Uma asked.

“Nah,” Mal shrugged. “Just wash your hands and you’ll be fine.”

“What’s all this commotion about?” Fairy Godmother asked as she stepped out of the class.

“We’re just talking about the bug.” Mal answered.

“Well there’s nothing to worry about as long as you’ve been properly vaccinated.”

Fairy Godmother was met with confused looks from Uma, Harry, Gil, and Cilia.

“What’s a vaccination?” Cilia asked.

Fairy Godmother stared at them for a moment.

“A vaccination is another word for a shot.” She answered after a moment's pause.

“And that is?” Harry asked.

“You mean none of you have ever heard of a shot?” Fairy Godmother asked at seeing their confused looks.

And that was how they realized no one on the Isle had received any vaccinations.

Notes:

Well, there it is. Comments would be great, and I'm open to new ideas and prompts. Have a blessed week!
