Aaron paced back and forth for what felt like hours, not even caring how obvious his feelings were for spencer at this point. He couldn’t sit still or stop thinking till he was told spencer was ok. His visible injuries were most likely not life threatening on their own, but Aaron had no idea how long those wounds had been bleeding for or what else Caleb had done to him.
Aaron practically ran when he was told what room spencer was in, and he couldn’t have been more relieved to see him awake, and see his smile as he entered.
“God spencer baby.” He sat down next to him and held his hand.
Spencer smiled but looked slightly confused.
“I thought we weren’t calling each other pet names on cases.” He joked.
Hotch leaned forward and kissed him on the head.
“I couldn’t care less about that; I’d rather tell everyone we meet how much I love you than ever feel that close to losing you again.”
It was as true as any statement could be. he was never letting anyone get so close to taking spencer from him ever again, and he didn’t care that now the team was sure to know about them. All that mattered was that he had spencer, and he was alive.
“I love you, Aaron.”
“I love you too spencer.”
