It had been a few weeks, almost a month where Mikey has been settling in with his brothers and Splinter.
They were showing him around and he was getting to know them and learning how to be a ninja. They were all really loud and he wasn't used to it all.
Really, most of the time he just sat in his room or in a hole in the wall he found deep in the sewers worrying about his dad.
Sure, his "dad" was a rat man, but the man who raised him was his real dad. He missed him.
-
"Hey Michael, you doing anything right now? I wanted to run some diagnostics and see if yo-" Mikey was staring at the wall, bouncing a ball back and forth. His face was crunched up and unfocused while thinking deeply.
"Is this a bad time or-" Mikey caught the ball and turned his head to look at the purple clad turtle standing in the doorway.
"S'all good Dee." Donnie scratched his head and tapped his fingers together, looking away awkwardly.
"So is that a yes to going to my lab for tests.. orrrr-"
Mikey frowned and looked at the wall again before setting the ball down and staring at his hands.
"I wanna see my dad..." Donnie raised an eyebrow and snorted.
"Dad's in the living room Mikey, you know that-"
"No, my dad. The man who raised me. I want to go see him." Donnie looked at the floor before pressing some buttons on his wrist tech and steeling his face.
"Alright, but we're going to come with you- if that's alright of course, we wouldn't want to intrude- well, Leo might-" Mikey giggles before nodding and standing up, sliding on his hoodie full of paint stains and messily seen on patches he made.
"I don't mind you guys coming, but I need you to let me have a moment with him, alright?" Donnie nodded and called for the other two brothers.
They stepped out of Mikey's room and waited for the others to join them.
"So, about me running tests later-" Mikey snorted and shoved Donnie lightly and smiled.
"Sure Dee, whatever you want." Donnie smiled and pat his little brothers head.
"What's up DonTron? We going on a mission?" Leo fell down the skate ramp and nudged his purple twin. Donors smile immediately turned into a frown.
"No, no mission, at least not one with fighting involved." Raph stumbled out of his room, swiping away sweat from his face with a towel and grinning.
"What's with the family meeting?" Donnie tapped away at us wrist tech again.
"Well my dear Raphael, we are going to assist Mikey in seeing his dad again." Raph scratching his head and looked at Mikey.
"But isn't pops in the-" Donnie's spider arms from his battle shell shushed Raph and he just made a confused face.
"No, not our father, Mikey's father." Raph raised an eyebrow before his eyes shot wide and his mouth turned into an "O" shape.
"Can we get going already? I wanna see what his old man looks like!" Donnie smacked Leo and turned to Mikey.
"Well Michael?" Mikey just tapped his arms anxiously and led them out of the sewers in silence.
Well, mostly silence.

"Dad? You home?" Mikey had jumped off the roof and into the alleyway that led into his home. He had just knocked on the door and walked in, shoving everyone else outside and shushing them.
"Dad?" He looked around the house, eyeing the kitchen and living room, even his bedroom before sneaking into his father's room. There were people roots when he checked certain places, mainly the kitchen.
When he went in Rupert's room, there was nothing. He wasn't there. His shoulders sagged as he sat on his dad's bed and be stared at his feet. What happened to him? He rarely left the house after he was turned into a pig...
He heard the living room door squeak open and he rolled his eyes. I thought I told them to stay outside.
He got up and went into the living room just to see Rupert and his brothers staring at him.
They were all in a fighting stance.
"What the heck are you guys doing?!?!"
The brothers looked at one another, confused.
"Dad!"
"Mikey!"
He hopped into his father's arms and sniffled into his shoulder, the waterworks were coming on.
"Wait a minute-"
"THAT'S YOUR DAD?"
"MEATSWEATS IS YOUR DAD?"
Mikey looked at his brothers while still in Rupert's arms and grimaced.
"Ew, Meatsweats? That's a horrible name-" Rupert smiled and nodded.
"I agree, but that's what they've been calling me since they saw me. How have you been Angelo?" Mikey squeezed his dad before being let down and he smiled up at him.
"I've been good- ooh! Dad! These are my brothers! Leo, Donnie, and Raph! And I also got another dad I guess, his name is Splinter, but I don't really call him dad." Mikey stuck his tongue out and started rambling on about what he's been doing since he saw his dad last, Rupert just smiling and nodding.
"Well it seems like you've been having quite some fun." Mikey cringed and shook his head.
"Not at all! I missed you so much, sure I've got more family now, but what about our pizza nights? The rewatches of your show? THE ART SHOWCASES?"
The three brothers stood off to the side and awkwardly stared. It took a few minutes before Donnie shooed them all outside so Mikey and his dad could have some privacy.
Rupert laughed and smiled, hugging Mikey once more.
"Well, we can have that once more.. but it seems like you've got to choose now.. you've got two families Angel.." Mikey's smile turned into that of confusion and then sadness.
"Oh.. well.." Mikey looked at the floor, anxiously wringing his hands together and biting his lips.
"I want to stay with you but I have so much I missed out on with my brothers... Uhm... Oh! What if we make times to meet or weekends we can hang out!" Mikey grabbed the calendar that was placed on the the fridge and started scribbling on it, making days or weeks he would stay with his dad and then days and weeks he'd be with his brothers and Splinter.
"It's the perfect plan! Right dad?"
"Of course Mikey, I'm just glad you're here with your old man- maybe next time you see me though, don't bring your brothers- I'm not sure they like me very much-"
Mikey raised and eyebrow and turned to look at the three turtles glaring at Meatsweats from the window.
"I uh.. I'll talk to them... I think I have to go now... I'll see you tomorrow though?" Mikey looked away, willing himself not to cry. That plan did not work.
Rupert brought Mikey into his arms and held him like he weighed nothing, just scratching his shell and whispering that things were going to be okay.
"I love you dad.." Rupert wiped away Mikey's tears and set him down.
He kneeled down and stared into Mikey's eyes and smiled softly.
"I love you too Mikey."
