Chapter Text
Texting Jimin felt impossible. Until Jungkook pointed out if he didn't text him, Jimin would most likely ask him about it on Monday. And that wasn't an option.
He couldn't find a new morning coffee stop just because of one employee, right?
After rewriting the text half a million times, he finally hit send and dropped his phone on the mattress in front of him. 'It's Yoongi. You said you wanted to do something this weekend?' He groaned.
Why did I say that? Not even a "hi?" What the hell...
He stood up and headed to the kitchen, shaking out his hands. He pulled everything off the counter and began wiping it down. Once they were sparkling, he set up the air-fryer and microwave and put the miscellaneous cups and silverware into the sink. His phone buzzed at him from where is sat on the table in the living room. He glanced at it, then brought out the broom and mop.
A half and hour later, when the apartment was shining, he picked up the phone. His headphones rested heavily over his ears as he read over Jimn's response. 'Hello, Yoongi-ssi! I was looking forward to your text!' And in another bubble: 'I was thinking we could go to an museum and a movie on Saturday, how does that sound???' Yoongi chewed at the inside of his cheek. His knee bounced as he glanced at the T.V where Family Guy was playing.
Yeah, okay. Sounds good' 'I live right next to the cafe if you want to meet there for coffee first? Then we can just take my car for the day?' Yoongi nodded. He hated driving. 'Sounds good to me' Jimin read the message but didn't respond. Yoongi locked his phone. Then turned it on again. He hummed under his breath as he left the device and his headphones on the couch in favor of a shower.
He laid in bed with damp hair, scrolling through TikTok and trying to distract himself. His thoughts were flying at the speed of light, laced with anxiety and stress. There were endless possibilities that could take place the next day. Would he suddenly get carsick? Or an upset stomach from the coffee? What time would he have to leave? Was it a date?
Is this a date? Yoongi scrutinised himself in the mirror. He debated changing into a shirt instead of his favorite hoodie, but decided to opt for comfort rather than style. He slipped on his shoes and locked his apartment door. I'll be early, but I can just wait inside. Or outside. It's usually busy by now. He trekked down the cafe and immediately spotted Jimin standing by the door with a cup in either hand. Jimin smiled brightly when they locked eyes, holding a cup toward him.
"I got your usual. I got here a little early but it should still be warm." Yoongi nodded in thanks and took a sip. Jimin looked at him expectantly.
"Still warm." He supplied, swallowing the bitterness on his tongue. Jimin cast him a relieved look, then motioned to his left.
"Wanna get going?" Yoongi nodded. Jimin led the way, looking behind him occasionally. Yoongi didn't even notice, keeping his gaze on the sidewalk in front of him. Jimin smiled. He unlocked his car and opened the passenger door. Yoongi grinned briefly at him before ducking into the seat, eyes on his coffee to keep it from spilling. Jimin made sure he was tucked in before closing the door and moving to his side.
He kept his eyes down as Jimin held his head rest and reversed out of the lot. His tongue felt like a sheet of sandpaper stuck to his teeth as they moved.
The museum was fairly close by at least. Yoongi did not get carsick or spill his coffee. Jimin had long given up trying to start a conversation, Yoongi's awkward 1 sentence answers told him enough. The elder's gaze was focused out the windshield, watching the trees and building's pass. Generally when Yoongi first heard they were going to a museum, he imagined old boots and hieroglyphic tablets in glass cases. Jimin clearly had a different definition.
KinA rocked on his feet, holding his own hand tightly. He followed Jimin closely, always less than a step behind. He drank in the painting over Jimin's shoulder. it was scarcely illuminated, making the colors inky and hidden. The landscape was breathtaking. Jimin turned, and smiled. He gently pushed Yoongi toward the painting. The elder didn't even spare him a glance, enthralled in the painting.
"What would you like to watch?" Yoongi skimmed the list, not seeing anything familiar.
"Um, I'm not sure." He mumbled into his chest. Jimin smiled kindly.
"It's alright if you'd rather do something else." Yoongi shook his head.
"You've driven all this way." Jimin shook his head, steering Yoongi back out to the car with a gentle hand.
"Come on, I've got a better idea." Yoongi chewed at his mouth the whole ride to Jimin's apartment, leaving his lips bloody.
"Oh, love. What've you done?" Jimin tutted, pulling at Yoongi's bottom lip with his thumb. He gently wiped off the remaining saliva as he fished around in his pocket. Yoongi watched as Jimin coated his lips in warm balm.
"Don't bite, okay?" They were parked outside Jimin's apartment building, the afternoon sun warmed the tar and shone in their eyes. Yoongi followed Jimin into his apartment, pausing to take his shoes off at the door. Jimin looked over his shoulder at the absence of footsteps.
"Oh!" He rushed over and began unlacing his boots.
"You must think I'm so messy! I promise I wash the floor daily." Yoongi smiled uncomfortably.
"It's your home, you can do as you please. I was just being polite." Jimin chuckled as he lead Yoongi into the living room.
"You can have a seat; I was thinking that since the movie theater only had limited options, we could watch something here?"
"Oh, okay." He left Yoongi on the couch with the remote and began making some popcorn.
"I'm partial to romance movies, but you can pick anything." I would consider Corpse Bride romance, right? They kind of get married? Jimin set two bowls of popcorn on the coffee table.
"I love that movie!" Yoongi pressed play.
Yoongi couldn't stop fidgeting. There was a tense ball in his core aching to escape through his fingertips.
Jimin gently pulled his hands from his lap where they were pulling apart the skin of his thumbs. He placed a hair band in his palm. Yoongi tied it into knots. Then picked them apart.
The movie was forgotten. Jimin only had eyes for Yoongi as he played with the band. He reached up and gently combed his nails down the others scalp. Yoongi shivered.
"This okay?" Yoongi nodded, eyes still on the screen and hands still busy. Jimin smiled.
