QSMP Philza knew Tallulah was in good hands with DSMP Fundy, especially now that he moved away from the Las Nevadas and most of this trauma inducing server, so there was no need to rush getting her home.
It was his DSMP counterpart that he really needed to talk to. DSMP Philza was part of the reason Tallulah was with DSMP Fundy now.
The walk through the snow was a little tricky, he had chosen not to fly because he feared crashing into one of the many trees in the dense forest surrounding the joint cabins. He finally reached the cabins and saw his counterpart sipping a cup of tea in his home. he calmly walked up to his counterpart's house and knocked on the door.
DSMP Philza opened the door and asked "Are you here for a reason or are you just here for tea and a chat?"
QSMP Philza replied with "I'm here for a reason and it has to do with both of our eldest grandchildren."
DSMP Philza raised an eyebrow and spoke in a confused tone of voice "Okay, but I don't see how you know about Michael."
QSMP Philza sighed and said "I'm talking about Fundy."
DSMP Philza said "He's not my grandson."
QSMP Philza replied with "He is, by birth, your grandson and saying otherwise isn't gonna change that."
DSMP Philza asked "Why would you wanna talk about Fundy?"
QSMP Philza stated "Because he went over to the QSMP universe and met Tallulah and Chayanne."
DSMP Philza asked "Oh. How'd it go?"
QSMP Philza replied with "Tallulah and Chayanne must have got along with him super well since Tallulah choose to follow Fundy back here and Chayanne didn't stop her."
DSMP Philza asked "Wait, you weren't there?"
QSMP Philza said "Yes. I trust that Chayanne can handle any threat to Tallulah's life just like how you trust Technoblade can handle any threat to the Syndicate."
DSMP Philza said "That's fair. So was that all you came here for?"
QSMP Philza shook his head and said "There's more regarding Fundy that I think we should talk about."
DSMP Philza sighed and said "I think we should have some tea while we chat."
QSMP nodded before sitting down at the small table in DSMP Philza. DSMP Philza poured a cup a tea for QSMP Philza and one cup of tea for himself. QSMP Philza took a sip of tea before asking "Did you know that Fundy has a son?"
DSMP Philza quickly put down his teacup and replied "No I didn't."
QSMP Philza said "I don't really blame Fundy for not telling you considering your history."
DSMP Philza said "To be fair: He did try to kill Technoblade."
QSMP Philza said "And you nuked his birthplace to the ground and were the straw that broke the camel's back for his sanity. I would call that even but you apparently are not satisfied. Guess Technoblade's habit of being petty and vindictive rubbed off on you."
DSMP Philza said "Technoblade isn't petty or vindictive."
QSMP Philza said in a very sarcastic tone of voice "Yes because as we all know, nuking an entire country and leaving thousands dead and more homeless is totally a reasonable response to facing accountability for betraying the people you fought alongside."
DSMP Philza said "And you and I both know he hates governments."
QSMP Philza said "And I understand why he was upset about being misled by Wilbur but summoning Withers was a bit of a overkill in my eyes."
DSMP Philza asked "Okay, did you just come here to insult my best friend?"
QSMP Philza said "I am pointing out that you find every excuse in the book for Technoblade even though he did some pretty bad stuff but Fundy did one bad thing and you kicked him to the curb without letting him explain himself. I don't know about you but that ain't best grandpa mug material to me."
DSMP Philza said "Fundy forced me to choose between him and my best friend."
QSMP Philza asked "Did you stop to ask him why he joined The Butcher Army?"
DSMP Philza replied "No."
QSMP Philza said "Put yourself in Fundy's shoes for a moment: You just lost your father and the one who would've been your adoptive father failed to show up. The only family member you have left is your grandfather. Suddenly, an army forms seeking revenge on your grandfather's best friend and you know your grandfather could be a target. You don't want to lose the last family member you have left so you join the army to protect him. Then he says that you're dead to him. It seems you choose your grandfather's life over your relationship with him. Both paths led to you losing the last family member you had, just in different ways."
DSMP Philza sat silently in his chair, QSMP Philza's words hitting him hard. Tears brimmed in his eyes as he asked "I'm a horrible grandpa, aren't I?"
QSMP Philza replied "Yes and no. You disowning Fundy without letting him explain way was, for lack of a better term, a dick move that costed both of you greatly. A part of Wilbur despises you for killing Friend and destroying L'manburg. Some of the damage from your actions cannot be reversed. But you're still alive, which was Fundy's main goal. There's still time to at least repair your relationship with Fundy before he walks down the same path of self-destruction Wilbur did."
DSMP Philza asked "But what if he never wants me back in his life again?"
QSMP Philza replied "That is a possibility. Unlikely given that he wanted to talk with you about his prophetic visions, but still a possibility. In that case, you'll have to accept that you cannot be a part of his life. Though you can still keep an eye on him and make sure he's okay."
DSMP Philza said "Okay, though I wouldn't be surprised if he wants you to be his grandfather instead."
QSMP Philza said "Technically, I am."
DSMP Philza said "You know what I mean."
QSMP Philza said "Well, if he does decide to move to the QSMP, I will help him settle in. Who knows, maybe he'll adopt one of the eggs."
DSMP Philza said "Maybe."
QSMP Philza stood up from his chair and said "I should head out to pick up Tallulah."
DSMP Philza also stood up from his chair and asked "Do you want me to go with you? I need to apologize to Fundy."
QSMP Philza said "Sure." as the two Philzas left DSMP Philza's cabin, not realizing there was a very concerned Technoblade looking right at them.
The walk to Fundy's cabin was long but not boring as the two Philzas talked about their lives and what had happened on their respective servers.
They finally reached Fundy's cabin and saw Tallulah playing the flute outside while Fundy was picking berries and Yogurt was inside coloring a picture. Tallulah spotted the two Philzas first and walked over to them before placing a sign and writing on it "Grandpa, why are there two of you?"
QSMP Philza replied "Tallulah, this is the DreamSMP version of me."
Tallulah has a brief look of confusion on her face before destroying the sign, smiling and running over to Fundy. She then tugged on Fundy's jacket and pointed to the two Philzas. Fundy blinked in brief confusion but then asked "Is Tallulah's grandpa here to pick her up?"
QSMP Philza said "Yes. I'm glad you kept her away from the rest of this server."
Fundy said "I know what this server does to innocent children. I didn't want what happened to Tommy or Tubbo to happen to her."
QSMP Philza said "You know, if you wanna move to the QSMP, the door is always open."
Fundy said "I appreciate the offer but I'm going to have to pass on that. I don't think I'll fit in there."
QSMP Philza said "I understand why you think that." before walking over to Tallulah to ask how her stay was.
DSMP Philza walked up to Fundy, placed a hand on Fundy's shoulder and said "I'm sorry for disowning you instantly when you joined The Butcher Army. I should've asked why you joined them instead of just acting like you never mattered to me. QSMP Philza told me his hypothesis as to why you joined but I wanna know the truth. Why did you join The Butcher Army?"
Fundy replied to Philza's question with "What was QSMP Philza's hypothesis?"
DSMP Philza replied "That you joined The Butcher Army to protect me from being killed by them."
Fundy said "That was one of the reasons I joined."
DSMP Philza asked "There are other reasons?"
Fundy said "Only one other reason. I lost my father and my home on the same day and I wanted to protect what was left of both."
DSMP Philza said "You wanted to be a protector, like Technoblade is to me."
Fundy nodded and DSMP Philza replied "Now I just feel even worse for Doomsday. I took the last thing of your father, my son, away from you just out of spite. Me and Techno could've dismantled the government without destroying L'manburg."
Fundy said "Dream manipulated you both into believing destroying L'manburg was the right thing to do."
DSMP Philza said "You're right but that still doesn't erase my guilt. I should've seen past Dream's manipulations. I should have reigned Techno in and gave him a plan to dismantle the government without Withers and TNT. I should have.."
Fundy put a hand on DSMP Philza's shoulder and said "If we keep thinking about what we should've done, we'll always live in the past and not the present."
DSMP Philza chuckled and asked "When did you turn from following Wilbur's path into following my path?"
Fundy said "I guess meeting Tallulah and Chayanne was that turning point."
DSMP Philza asked "Is that why you asked Tallulah if she wanted to follow you?"
Fundy said "Yes. I just put a boat into the water to sail home and Tallulah must have saw it as a invitation because jumped right in. I broke the boat and plopped down another one and she leapt right in that boat as well. Four boats later I finally asked her if she wanted to follow me and she nodded."
DSMP Philza started laughing before finally coming down and saying "Now I know she is Wilbur's kid and your sister. She inherited the family stubbornness."
Fundy started laughing for the first time in a long time.
Finally QSMP Philza walked over to DSMP Philza and Fundy while holding Tallulah and said "It's getting late. We should be heading home."
DSMP Philza said "I should be heading home as well."
Fundy said "Bye."
Tallulah squirmed in QSMP Philza's arms, cause QSMP Philza to put her on the ground. Tallulah put down a sign and wrote on it "Bye bye, big brother."
Fundy felt tears of joy brim his eyes but wiped them away as he said "See you soon, little sister."
QSMP Philza picked up Tallulah and flew off with her in his arms. DSMP Philza started walking away from Fundy but stopped in his tracks when he heard Fundy say "Bye Grandpa, come visit when you can,"
Tears of relief brimmed DSMP Philza's eyes as he said "I will." and he continued walking.
The walk back to his cabin was almost instantly interrupted by a very concerned Technoblade who almost crashed into DSMP Philza on Carl. Technoblade asked "Is everything okay? Usually, when an alternative version of you shows up, it means bad news."
DSMP Philza said "Everything is fine. QSMP Philza just wanted me to chat with Fundy and I found out why Fundy joined The Butcher Army."
Technoblade asked "Wait, you didn't know before?"
DSMP Philza said "I didn't ask."
Technoblade said "Bruh. When I found out that Tommy was in my house I didn't kill him immediately and asked him why he was in my house."
DSMP Philza asked "Do you wanna know why Fundy joined The Butcher Army?"
Technoblade said "Yes."
DSMP Philza said "It was to protect me from The Butcher Army."
Technoblade said "Bruh. If I knew that, I could've convinced him to join us."
DSMP Philza said "You could've. Hindsight is a pain."
Technoblade asked "So does that mean Fundy's going to be visiting us?"
DSMP Philza said "Probably. by the way, he's probably going to be accompanied by an egg because he has a little sister now."
Technoblade practically shouted "Wilbur had another kid?!"
