Chapter Text
Tommy looked out past the trees, the wind swaying them slightly. The forest completely surrounded the village, having a few acres of trees farther away where the trees started to disperse into new land. The orange complimented the village nicely. Most of the houses and cottages weren't like the other ones scattered around the forest, most being made of stone and wood, these were made of all wood.
The homes weren't bland though, almost all of them had many, many decorations and getups that people were putting out. Fake cobwebs hung from the porches; ghouls, goblins, and strange weird creations that were supposed to look like monsters were set outside people's houses. The village was bustling and alive with the people shopping and the children running and laughing.
Tommy has seen this village many times during night runs, but somehow this felt different. It felt like he was looking at the town for the first time. He could feel the joy radiating from the village.
It should make him feel happy to finally be there, and it did.
But he was also terrified.
Of course, he made sure not to show it, but deep down, he was deeply terrified. His mind silently racing about all the bad things that might happen. His main concern being the hunters.
Now, the hunters have never seen him, Tubbo, or Ranboo. They only had speculations that the trio was out there; but still, it was risky. It was dangerous. Tommy knew this though. He knew that he could be risky by still traveling with Phil and Techno. His friends knew as well. All of them, including Phil and Techno, knew how risky this could be.
Even through fear and terror, Tommy was ready to pursue through this and as cheesy as it may sound, he was happy to be doing it with his friends.
"A pretty view, isn't it" Phil said, resting a hand on Tommy's shoulder.
Tommy only hummed, still looking out onto the view of the village. It wasn't even nighttime yet and the kids were already dressed in their Halloween costumes. Tommy was quick to remember that all the villages had some sort of variation when it came to the day of Halloween. This one was an all day thing. All the shoes were open in the morning for people to sell their goods then when it hit noon, the parade would start. It wasn't a large one but it wasn't small either. Humans of all ages dressed up and threw out candy to others who were standing off to the side; then, when it started to get dark, is when the night time shenanigans would happen. Kids going door to door asking for candies, running off as soon as they got their haul.
This was one of the few nights in the year Tommy loved. Not only for the parade, even though that is a strong factor, but there was no fighting. No worries, no arguing, nothing but pure joy and laughter and mischief.
It was one of the few nights his friends and himself felt extremely happy. It was also one of the few nights that served as a reminder that they did not belong.
As much as Tommy longed to go out and do what all the other little kids were doing, he knew how they'd react when they saw what he was. Tubbo had to remind him many times of this. He could hear the hurt and understanding in Tubbo's voice every time.
After a while he didn't need to be reminded to not sneak off to the laughter and lights, settling with watching from afar and soaking in as much of the night as he could.
"Alright," Techno said from behind, holding up something in his hands. "I've got the one of a kind sheets that was totally pre-cut and we're definitely not just quickly cut by me right now." He said this while holding up the sheets for each of the teens to grab.
"You know, couldn't we just go out like how we normally look? Technically we already look like a costume." Tubbo said while proceeding to grab one of the sheets from Techno.
"True, but where's the fun in that? Gotta spice things up a little" Techno replied while handing the other two theirs.
Tubbo shrugged his shoulders while carefully lifting the sheet above his head. The sheets weren’t bad. Shabby in some areas? Yes, if Tubbo had to guess then these were probably very old sheets. In the end, the appearance of the sheets didn’t really matter. As long as they made them blend in with the humans as much as they could then Tubbo couldn’t care less. Tubbo watched as Ranboo felt the sheet in his hand, Tubbo couldn’t tell if he was internally critiquing the sheets or marveling at the texture of it. Probably both.
“Another thing while you guys get ready,” Techno started as he lifted up his large backpack. “We’re out of food, so while we are here, we’re gonna have to find a nearby shop or store and restock.”
“Why don’t we just eat fish from the rivers, man? I roast ‘em pretty good, do I not?” Tommy muffles while trying to put his sheet on, struggling to find the head opening.
“Tommy, as much as I love how well you cook the fish you bring us, if I have fish for another meal I will quite literally throw myself off a cliff.” Techno replied, hearing Tommy grumble about ‘this being an insult to his food’ while Phil helped Tommy get his head through the opening after seeing him struggle. Techno was so gonna make fun of him for that.
Once the trio had their costumes one, Techno started leading the way to the village. The trio was quick to follow with Phil not far behind. Techno led them down the tree cover hill that brought them to an opening near the village. It was discrete enough that it didn’t make them look like they just came out of the woods.
“Guys, this is very important, I need you to be near me or Techno at all times. This place might be full of hunters and one of us needs to be near in case something was to ever go down.” Phil explained, stopping in his tracks in front of the opening. All three of them nodded and walked up farther so that Techno was in front, leading the way, and so that Phil was in the back, keeping a lookout. With that, the group as casually and naturally as they could strolled out onto the pavement path.
To say the trio was fascinated would be an understatement. Tubbo looked around at all the different houses, stores, and builds. Every house was very different, one never looking the same as the other whether it was structure, color scheme, or the size of the house. The stores had big signs and fancy doorways. Some stores had flowers and potted plants decorating the outside of them, others took a simplistic style while still catching passerby attentions’. The environment felt so warm and welcoming, Tubbo couldn’t help but be amazed.
Ranboo found more interest in what was happening inside the buildings. In some he saw people in chairs chatting away, in others he saw people hard at work, creating things of many different sizes. He saw men cutting large amounts of wood in one building, in another he saw a woman and a man putting flowers into pots and arranging and rearranging them until the flowers seemed perfect. The woman was working with a larger pot of flowers while the man was handing a smaller pot to someone across the counter. Ranboo looked to his left to see another man outside a building. He was wearing a large cream colored apron that was stained with black splotches. He wore large, black, rubber gloves on his hands and he was holding something in it while pressing it down against a weirdly shaped black rock. Ranboo took a deep breath, taking in everything he was seeing. He can definitely see why Tommy was always so attracted to this place.
While Tubbo watched in awe of the buildings and Ranboo goggled at the people at work. Tommy’s eye was caught on the people around him. Kids ran up and down the path, laughing and giggling in their costumes while their parents warned them not to run too fast, voices filled with annoyed fondness. He watched the streets that were crowded with people. He watched the people at their booths laugh with people as they sold different Halloween items to them. He looked farther up the road to see people getting ready for the parade.
Then his attention was quickly caught by a cat. It was a small, little, dark gray cat. Quickly, it swerved around the crowd of people and ran into one of the back allies. Tommy forgot all of Phil’s heedings of not running off, slipping into the crowd and into the back alley.
“God, it’s getting pretty crowded” Phil said as he squeezed by a couple.
“Yeah, guess their Halloween is a pretty big deal.” Techno replied, gently laying a hand on Tubbo’s shoulder to move him in front of him so he didn’t get trampled.
“Is it not a big deal where you guys are from?” Ranboo asked.
“I mean, we don’t usually have a parade and no one is usually dressed in their costumes before the evening time.” Phil said, looking over at Ranboo.
“Yeah, mostly just the trick or treating at night and some teens throw Halloween parties instead of trick or treating. Sometimes we have Halloween costume contests.” Techno said before something caught his eyes.
“Hey, look, there’s a shop and cafe over there, let's head in so we can get away from the crowd and get some food.”
“Thank god, finally, sorry to insult your fish Tommy but I’m looking forward to whatever they have in here” Phil said, going over to look in Tommy’s direction.
But Tommy wasn’t there.
And that made Phil’s heart sink.
He looked to his other side and then behind him. He looked in front of himself and around the crowd of people, but Tommy was nowhere in sight.
“Phil? You comin’ in?” Techno asked
“He’s not here.”
“What?”
“Tommy. He’s not here.” Phil repeated himself and he could see Techno’s eyes widen.
As much as Phil was worried, he knew that panicking wouldn’t help him find Tommy. He had to keep calm and think logically. So, he closed his eyes, taking a quick breath before looking back at Techno.
“You take the boys inside, I am gonna go back and look for Tommy.”
“No, no, here you stay with them, I’ll be quicker.”
“Techno, I just really need you to stay here with them.”
“But-”
“Techno, please. You trust me, right?” Phil looked at Techno and laid a hand on his shoulder.
Techno looked at Phil for a moment before sighing and looking back and nodding.
Phil gave a small smile, moving his hand off of Techno’s shoulder.
“I’ll be back. With Tommy in tow.” With that, Phil headed back through the crowd to find Tommy while Techno ushered Tubbo and Ranboo into the shop.
~.~
Tommy slowly walked into the back alleyway. He was quick to spot the cat that had run back here. It sat on top of one of the dumpsters, it tilted its head while looking at Tommy, meowing quietly. Tommy smiled, slowly approaching the cat. The cat didn’t run away, it sat still and looked as calm as ever as Tommy approached it.
Once Tommy was in front of the cat, he slowly moved his hand towards the cat so it could sniff him. The cat did just that, dipping its head towards his hands, sniffing him before nudging its head against his hand. Tommy laughed and gently scratched the top of the cat's head, earning a loud purr in return.
“You’re a cute little fella, aren’t ya’?” Tommy said as he tilted his own head at the cat. The cat in question having already laid down on top of the trashcan in comfort. Tommy laughed quietly and looked down at the cat fondly. He’s only seen a cat a few times. They don’t regularly come to the forest.
The cat closed its eyes, continuing to lay its head further into Tommy’s hand. Then, the cat’s ear twitched slightly. Within seconds the cat was up and alert, quickly jumping off the trash can and scattering out of the alleyway not long after. Obviously, Tommy was confused. Why did the cat leave so suddenly?
Tommy shrugged it off for the most part, playing it up to it just being in a cat’s nature. Cats were just strange like that.
Tommy sighed while patting his sides, getting ready to leave the alleyway and find his way back to everyone else. Before he even moved his feet a voice stopped him.
“What are you doing back here?”
Shit.
Tommy spun around to see a man standing next to one of the dumpsters. The man looked to be around in his early 20’s. He was pretty tall; dirty blond hair done nicely and presentable with only a few strains laying across his forehead. The man also had freckles lightly scattered across his face.
He looked annoyed, but he also looked serious. Yeah, this was not good.
“Huh?” Tommy said confused, as if he just caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
“Can you not hear? I said, "What are you doing back here?” The man said, slightly harsher this time then taking a closer look at his costume.
“Is that even a costume, what are you even supposed to be?” The man said insultingly.
Instantly, Tommy switched up his tone. He was going to answer nicely but that was before the absolute disrespect.
“None of your fucking business.” Tommy snapped back, earning a surprised and pissed look from the other man. Yeah, he fucked up.
“Excuse me?” Welp, might as well roll with it.
“And you’re asking me if I can’t hear.” Tommy scoffed, crossing his arms.
This, obviously, just pissed off the man even more, the man in question quickly walking up to him and towering over him. Tommy had to take a small step back to make sure he didn’t fall back.
“Obviously,” The man spoke in a low voice. “No one ever taught you manners or to respect your superiors.”
Tommy couldn’t stop the fear from sinking into himself, slowly regretting insulting the man.
Just as Tommy was sure the man was raising his hand towards him, he heard a familiar voice.
“Tommy, there you are.” Tommy looked back to see a surprisingly calm Phil walking from the entrance of the alleyway.
“I’ve been looking all over for you mate, you gotta be careful about running off.” Phil said as he walked over to Tommy, resting a hand down on his shoulder.
“I’m assuming this is your kid?” The man said, looking over at Phil. Phil just smiled before nodding.
“Yeah, this one’s mine. He’s the chaotic one if you couldn’t tell.” He spoke fondly, unlike the man in front of them.
“Yeah, I could tell..” The man replied, glancing over at Tommy.
Tommy thinks it’s more of a glare than a glance.
“Well, keep an eye on your kid, he shouldn’t be rummaging through the back alleyways.” It looked like the man wanted to say something more but held off on it.
“Of course, of course” Phil spoke, beginning to lead Tommy out of the alley way. “We’ll be on our way now, thank you sir.” and with that, Phil turned around and began to lead Tommy out of the alleyway.
“Tommy,” Phil spoke in a low whisper. “If you’re gonna run off, maybe don’t go running off and talking to a hunter.”
“What are you talking about-” Tommy looked back behind him, getting a closer look at the man. He was still there, watching the two leave. That’s when Tommy saw it.
The man was wearing a symbol on his shirt. A crossbow symbol.
Tommy could swear his heart stopped for a moment looking at it. He was that close to a hunter.
He quickly turned his head back forward as they walked out of the alleway.
The man watched the two as they walked out the alleyway. Something was off and it wasn’t just the kid’s costume. Why were the tips of the kid’s hands tinted black? Why on god’s green earth was he wearing a box on his head? Who was the other person who came and took them away? The man sighed. He’d be keeping his eye out for this kid, but the questions could be worried about later.
“Dream!”
Dream looked behind him to find his friend, another hunter, standing behind him. He was panting and looked out of breath.
“Jesus Christ man, if you’re gonna show us a shortcut, maybe wait for us to catch up, would ya’?” Sapnap complained. Not long after, his other friend and hunter, George, showed up next to Sapnap, very much not out of breath.
“Sapnap has a point. Would have been nice if you waited on us.”
Dream sighed, looking down before looking at the two. “How about we quit complaining and just get out of the alleyway. There’s a reason the warden wanted us to patrol today.”
“Can I at least catch my breath first?”
“No,” George said with a smirk.
“Fuck you.” Sapnap replied.
Dream gave a quiet chuckle before starting to walk out of the alleway, his friends not far behind him.
~.~
“Hello, welcome to Niki’s cozie cafe! Let me know if you guys need any help.”
Tubbo looked over at the counter to the woman who had spoken. She had blonde hair with small hints of pink in her hair that was put up into a simple hairstyle. From what Tubbo could tell, she was wearing a very soft blue dress and over the dress was a big apron that had a small pink flower and the shop’s name embroidered on it. The woman gave Tubbo a smile before going back to whatever she was doing before.
Tubbo and Ranboo followed close behind Techno as they browsed the cafe. It was more like a cafe and shop. The front part of the building looked like a shop. Things set out on display, items they could buy such as clothes, food, toys, ect. Moving to the back of the shop, it looked more like a cafe, tables and booths for people to eat at, foods and goodies behind a display case. Tubbo liked the way it looked, it felt comfortable.
Techno and the two looked around the store part of the cafe for a few minutes, Techno having to remind the two not to touch anything. They then moved more towards the back of the store, techno stepping up to the counter to talk to the woman.
“Excuse me ma’am, but do you mind telling me what kinds of foods you sell? We need to restock on some before we get back on the trail.” Techno spoke calmly.
“Oh, I don’t mind at all! We mostly have pastries and sweets but we also have hardy foods for the travelers that come by every now and then. I can show you where they are if you’d like?”
“Thank you, uh” Techno squinted as he looked down at the name tag on the woman’s shirt. “ Niki”
“No problem,” Niki smiled as she stepped out from behind the counter. “ Just follow me and I’ll show you where they are.”
“Alrighty, boys, c’mon” Techno said, motioning his hand for the two to follow.
“Can we look around the shop while you look for the food?” Tubbo asked
“Hm,just as long as you guys don’t go getting into things you’re not supposed to.”
“We promise.” Tubbo said, resting his hand over his chest to emphasize his promise more, gently nudging Ranboo’s foot until he did the same as well, earning a chuckle from Niki.
“We promise.” Ranboo repeated.
“Alright, go on then.” Techno said before following Niki.
Tubbo seemed to beam, taking Ranboo’s hand and leading him around the store. They look at all the objects and bake goods. They eventually look at everything they can look at all they can look at all they can look at.
“I’m bored” Tubbo says flatley.
“Okay, that was quick.”
“There’s not a bunch here to do” Tubbo says, dragging out the ‘o’ in ‘do’.
“We can always go back and find Techno to see what he’s doing.” Rambo suggests, slowly starting to notice that Tubbo is no longer looking in his direction. He’s looking at the way back to the store where the sweets are.
“Oh no-”
“Or,” Tubbo starts.
“Tubbo, no.”
“We could-” Tubbo continues.
“It’s such a bad idea.”
“Come on, Ranboo, they won't notice one or two sweets missing.”
“You know we’re supposed to be attracting the least amount of attention to ourselves. I think stealing will completely deplete the purpose of that.” Ranboo says, pressingly.
“I know, that’s exactly why I said only one or two.” Tubbo replied, already walking to the back of the store, dragging Ranboo behind him.
“Tubbo, in the kindest way possible, this is really stupid, what if we get caught.”
“We won’t as long as he does your job, lookout boy.”
“Lookout boy?”
“Yep, you’re my look out now. Just watch and see if anyones comes while I do some awesome stealing skills.”
“I can’t believe you dragged me into this.”
“Less complaining, more looking.” Tubbo spoke lightheartedly.
Ranboo sighed, crossing his arms but looking out non the less, looking back at Tubbo every few seconds.
“Tubbo, you said one or two, that is not one or two.”
“I need enough for you and Tommy.”
“I don’t want any.”
“Too late, already got my hands on it, can’t put it back now, that would be non hygienic."
"Tubbo, you're stealing, I think the idea of whether or not putting a pastry back for hygienics is out the window by now."
"Hey, just because I steal doesn't mean I don't have morals."
"So your morals lie between putting food back to be sanitary and whether or not one of us looks dropkickable."
"Don't bring up the past, it's gonna haunt you Ranboo."
"You haunt me."
"Oh please-"
"What are you two doing back here?"
Silence filled the air. Ranboo didn't dare look back and Tubbo didn't dare move from his position, looking like a child that just got caught with their hand in the cookie jar, but in his case it was pastries, not cookies.
Ranboo mustered up all of his courage to look behind him. There stood a man, hands resting on his hips like a disappointed mom. If that mom was bald. He wore a huge leather apron, sweatpants, and a normal gray T-shirt. The man had black smudge all over his face, he looked like he just came back from working on something.
“You know you kids aren’t supposed to be back here, non the less.”
“Ranboo, when I say go, we book it.”
“What? Guys, no, don’t just go runnin-”
“We’re wanted criminals now, aren’t we?”
“Yes, Ranboo, we indeed are, no go!”
“Guys, please-”
The man didn’t have time to react before the two started making a run for the front of the store. Tubbo thought as long as they got to Techno, they’d be home free, somehow. Okay, so maybe he didn’t think too far ahead when he thought about stealing but that’s something he can deal with later in the future.
Before Tubbo knew it, he felt a hand grab his forearm. Sheer panic ran throughout his entire body as he began to flail as best he could. He could hear Ranboo in the background saying something but he couldn’t really decipher what he was saying.
“Kid, please- just calm down.” The man said tiredly, but there was a hint of worry in his tone. Then the man noticed something. He looked at Tubbo’s hand.
“What the hell do you have all over your hands? You look like me when I work with coal.”
Tubbo didn’t really think, he only reacted. Before he knew it, his claws slashed against flesh and he was let go. He could hear yelling and he could feel the box on his head stumble, only a little.
The man paused, holding his now bleeding arm. “You're-”, he paused between his sentences. “You’re not human.” He whispered quietly, almost not audible.
Tubbo heard it through. He heard every word.Somehow. The way he said those words, it stung. A slow burn in his ears and onto his brain.
Tubbo didn’t have time to duel too much on it as he heard stomping coming his direction and Ranboo helping him up to his feet.
Before he knew it, Techno popped up from around the corner. Ranboo immediately dragged them both behind him, Techno gently resting a hand on Ranboo’s shoulder.
“What happened back here.” Techno said and Tubbo had to say he was surprised. Yeah, Techno was intimidating and all physically but he never heard him sound this pissed? Upset? He only ever heard light-hearted sarcasm from this man.
Niki looked confused before her face turned to worry and concern.
“Jack, what the hell happened to your arm?!” Niki said as she rushed over to the man— apparently named Jack— checking his arm.
Tubbo couldn’t help but feel the need to hide more. That was it. They were found out. All because he wanted to do something stupid. He could feel Techno eyes on him and he felt how the room tensed. Tubbo didn’t bother to hide the blood on his hands.
Techno must have seen it, since he crouched down in front of Tubbo before asking him a question.
“Are you alright?” That’s all he said and if Tubbo had to be honest, he didn’t have a single clue on why he was asking that. He wasn’t hurt, he did scratch that Jack dude real bad. He didn’t get why Techno didn’t look mad or upset. He didn’t get why he wasn’t yelling at him, on how he ruined this for everyone and how he’s put his friends and possibly him and Phil in danger. He didn’t understand.
Tubbo could have said he was fine or say that he wasn’t or that it didn’t matter but he didn’t say that, all he could say was one thing: “He knows.”
And just like Jack, he said it so quietly, barely audible.
But Techno heard it.
Before anyone could say anything else a new voice found its way into the conversation.
“What. the fuck. Happened.”
Everyone turned around to see Phil with the most concerned look holding Tommy’s hand.
“You’re…gonna wanna sit down for this one.” Techno spoke awkwardly.
~.~
“So, let me get this straight.” Niki started, rubbing her hands against her temples. “Basically you three are hybrids–Tommy, Tubbo, and Ranboo, right– helping two travelers get home and then are going home with said travelers and the reason Jack’s arm is scratched up is because Tubbo got scared after trying to steal my baked goods?”
The group couldn't help but nod awkwardly, Tubbo especially.
“Why were you guys even trying to steal? You could’ve just come up to me and asked for some.” Techno spoke up, looking over at Tubbo and Ranboo. Tubbo couldn’t find the courage to speak up. He felt really bad for hurting Jack’s arm. Maybe he felt a little bad about the stealing too.
“It’s- well, it’s kinda what we're used to?” Ranboo spoke up, anxiously but talking nonetheless. Techno looked at him questionably, not in a rude way but in a way he obviously wanted him to explain.
“Look, we’re just used to stealing so we can eat or get supplies. Sometimes there’s not enough fish or one of us–on the rare occasion–gets sick, so we just gotta steal. I think we’re still kinda stuck in that mindset.”
Tubbo wanted to correct him. That he wasn’t in that mindset, that it was his fault for bringing up the idea, but he couldn’t get any words out.
Techno gave a small sympathetic smile, the rest of the group must have felt sympathetic as well.
“Yeah, sometimes it’s hard to get out of those mindsets.” Phil said, finally speaking up. “But you guys don’t have to worry about that anymore. I know that’s harder said than done but trust us when we say we got you.”
“Sap.” Tommy spoke quietly. Phil could only chuckle. It seemed to lift the mood among them all though.
Everything fell to silence before Tubbo eventually spoke up.
“M’sorry. ‘Bout your arm.” Tubbo mumbled but loud enough so that Jack could still hear him.
Jack gave him a smile. “It’s alright bud; honestly, I’ve been through worse.” he said, trying to lighten the mood. It helped slightly.
Phil gave Tubbo a small pat on his shoulder, looking down at the trio in fondness before looking up at Niki and Jack, still looking fond but with a hint of worry in his eyes.
“I know this is a lot to take in and we're sorry for causing you guys so much trouble, but please, for the kids sake, don’t tell anyone what they are.” Phil spoke with care and worry.
“Of course”
“No worries, your secret is safe with us.” Niki spoke, “I’m just glad we’re the ones who found you guys instead of the towns’ hunters. Phew, would that be chaos.” Niki chuckled slightly.
Yeah, Tommy was about to burst her bubble on that one.
Phil looked to the side awkwardly while Tommy looked down almost sourly, having to remember the encounter with the one hunter. The switch in the twos’ moods didn’t go unnoticed.
“Phil?” Techno spoke up, “It's a good thing, right?”
“Welllll-”
“Oh god-” Techno spoke, face palming himself.
“Look, we may or may not have had an encounter with one of the hunters because someone ran off after I told everyone to stay together.” Phil said, looking over at Tommy, his words held no real mean or hurtful intentions though, Tommy could tell.
“And I may or may not have gotten distracted by a cat.” Tommy spoke.
Niki looked dumbfounded and Jack looked concerned.
“Tommy, do you happen to know what the hunter looked like?”
“Yeah, he was tall, has dirty-blond hair, and was a real fuckin’ prick.” Tommy said as he crossed his arm.
“Oh fucking hell-” Niki groan putting her head in her hands.
“I’m guessing that didn’t help?” Tommy spoke sheepishly.
“No, no, it did, I just wished it was someone different you were describing.”
“Wait, so you know the guy?”
“Personally? No and thankfully but he’s one of the hardest hunters to deal with.”
“I bet you were hoping it was Sapnap since he doesn’t do shit other than jack around when he is on patrol.”
“Yeah, that or George since sometimes he sleeps during patrols. He’d still be a pain to deal with since it would be a 50/50 chance on whether or not he’s asleep.”
“Wait, who was the one I was talking to then?” Tommy spoke up again.
“That would be Dream.” Niki said as she looked back over to Tommy.
“That’s a shit name.”
“Yeah but he’s the head of the hunters and the most adamant of catching hybrids.”
“And he’s gonna be patrolling the streets tonight with George and Sapnap.” Jack said woefully.
“That’s gonna make it harder to sneak out of the village since I’m guessing he’s already suspicious of you two.” Techno said looking over at Tommy and Phil.
“If you want, me and Jack can help you guys sneak throughout the village?” Niki suggested. “It’s going to be super crowded tonight since it’s Halloween, Jack can keep a look out for the hunters while I guide you guys out of the village.”
Phil seemed to look hesitant. Techno must have noticed since he spoke up once again.
“It’s not a bad idea, Phil. We don’t know our way around the village and with it going to be crowded, it's good to have a guide.”
“Yeah, especially if Tommy gets lost again.” Tubbo jokes, earning a playful smack from Tommy.
Phil smiles, sighing slightly. “Okay, let’s do it.”
“Alright.” Niki spoke with a smile. “Hey, you guys will even get to enjoy Halloween, in a way kinda.”
“Hell yeah!” Tommy cheered, pumping his fist in the air with Tubbo and Ranboo quickly following in suit and pumping their fists in the air. The group could only chuckle at the trios’ actions.
“We can stay in my store until Halloween officially starts. The crowd will aid us when sneaking around. Sounds like a plan?”
Techno and Phil nodded.
Soon, they’d be out of the chaos and on their way home.
Nothing could go wrong.
Right?
