Toast's room was starting to resemble a battlefield. Sykkuno's opener was not....well recieved "I'm gonna tell Ludwig yes."
"WHAT" Rae screeched at him. Toast looked up from his laptop, the judgement evident in his eyes.
"And what brought this upon?" the other narrowed his eyes.
He avoided eye contact "Nothing? I like Ludwig?"
Rae stepped in.
"Uh-huh? Why does it sound like a question?"
"I-its... I don't know but I'm being unfair to him and I've tried talking to Corpse. So hard. All the time. Even today... and he gives me nothing.
Rae sighed. "You kissed someone else on his birthday."
Sykkuno knew his argument was trash and yet.
"And how does that matter? He never told me how he felt. In fact, I still don't know how he feels this could all just be one big misunderstanding."
Wrong move.
"Are you fucking serious right now? Are you? Do you see what you and Corpse have become? And now you want to say yes to being Ludwig's boyfriend? Are you insane?" Rae had begun fuming.
The brunette tried again, "I'm not insane, I'm logical. At this point, I'm just leading him on. He's so nice, he doesn't deserve this."
"You're right. He doesn't deserve it one bit. I so stop doing it. End it with him because you can't keep doing this." Toast spoke up for the first time since the argument started.
"Toast I.. I can't."
The said boy raised an eyebrow "Because you're a coward? Is that what it is? You're too scared to tell Ludwig no, even though you know you're breaking his heart and you're too scared to actually confront Corpse?"
Unlike Rae, he appeared calm. Too calm.
"N-no, I-"
"Listen Syk-" Rae was about to start sreeching at any moment now.
"Shut up, Rae. Listen Sykkuno, we're all done with this. You and Corpse are both being idiots, and I'm over it. You're old enough to make a decision like this, so make it. You wanna be Ludwig's boyfriend? Hell, you wanna marry Ludwig? Be my guest, I don't care. We'll support you, because we love you. Just don't expect us to be happy for you, because if you choose to be with Lud, you won't even be happy for yourself. Rae, you're to no longer listen to him or give him advice unless he chooses one or the other."
"Toa-"
"No. Either you talk to Corpse and come to us. Or you pick Ludwig and come to us. Before that, please don't involve us in this thing anymore. It's messy enough as it is, sorry."
Sykkuno's eyes prickled with tears. The worst part was, everything Toast had said, were things he needed to hear. Logical things that needed to be said. But it still hurt to see Toast disappointed in him, and the fact that Rae hadn't objected once to being "forbidden", was very telling. He was being a nuisance. And since it was time to pick.. He'd pick.
"I'm picking Ludwig. I'll be his boyfriend."
Rae looked absolutely torn up, "Sykkuno, are you sure?"
He looked at his feet. "Yea."
"Oh? Good for you. Congrats, man." the thing is, Toast and Rae didn't say it.
Unbeknownst to them all, Corpse had stood transfixed in the doorway. Before Sykkuno could even comprehend what had happened, he watched his best friend turn around and leave, again.
