Dear journal this is the last time I'm writing in this before I step onto America soil as I don't want to remember my past in Japan
It’s been a tough journey trying to get to America, with nowhere to go in Japan because of what happened. I decided to start a new life away from all of this, with a letter in hand from the people who took me in after my painful past at age 14, raised me as their own till 22, caught me using magic protecting my little brother from thieves because of The Shōwa Financial Crisis. Then beating me up calling me a demon to banishing me, now with my belongings with me I bark on a journey for a better life. Getting here was difficult, as I needed to talk with tons of people which I hate doing because of my social anxiety. The people who I talked with, helped me with all I needed with the paperwork to move to America.
But it came with a price, I had to sell a bunch of my stuff in order to pay them. I only had my book that has my magic spells which I'm scared of, a journal, some clothes, a letter, some rations for the trip, a suitcase, and some extra money for selling some of my belongings. I snuck onto the cargo ship at night as it set sail to America. It was not an easy three week ride, hiding while trying to stay silent as the guards come and go. But thanks to some of the spells I had, I was able to evade and stay undetected but I felt nauseous every time the ship moved side to side.
Sleep was not helpful because of the ship moving, I would slide left to right hitting the walls, I still have the injuries. When a storm hit during my voyage everything was way worse but I made it. The ship crew members loaded their stuff as I quietly moved off the ship towards the loading dock, with the sign saying Welcome To the Port of Los Angeles, California. I pass the guards and head to a building that I have the number of. I learned how to read and speak English by reading and studying during my time talking with people knowing English is needed.
Thanks to an acquaintance back in Japan, they contacted a person here that would meet up with me to discuss the start of my new life here.
