Chapter Text

The delivery man entered through the front door, glancing around to locate the intended recipients. Zeroing in on Phoenix and Miles, he navigated his way toward their table. Unbeknownst to Phoenix, who had his back turned to the entrance, an unexpected proposal was unfolding.

"Oh, this is my favourite song! I can't believe the restaurant knows it!" Phoenix beamed, humming along with genuine delight.

Miles couldn’t help but feel so utterly in love with his partner.

As the song's melody enveloped them, Miles found himself silently appreciating the man in front of him.

In that moment, he reflected on the countless instances when Phoenix had brought joy and warmth into his life. Their journey together had been marked by shared laughter, challenges met hand in hand, and the deep connection that had flourished between them. Miles marvelled at how his partner could turn even the simplest moments into something extraordinary.

The grey-haired man's attention was drawn, almost magnetically, to the man before him. Phoenix, with his expressive eyes and unruly hair, seemed to glow in the soft candlelight. The air hummed with the gentle ambiance of the place as the song started to play a little louder, but Miles found himself absorbed in a world that revolved solely around Phoenix Wright.

His mind became a canvas painted with every nuance of Phoenix's features. The way his eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled, how his hair sat effortlessly (not really), and the way his fingers traced patterns on the wineglass – it all held Miles in an enchanting trance.

In these moments, Miles marveled at the beauty before him – not just the physical allure but the profound beauty of Phoenix's spirit. It was as if a masterpiece had come to life, and Miles couldn't help but be the fascinated spectator.

The world around them blurred as Miles found solace in the captivating aura that Phoenix exuded. He realized, with a profound sense of certainty, that he was deeply and utterly in love. The realization settled within him like a soft whisper, weaving its way through the tapestry of his thoughts.

Miles found himself caught in a whirlwind of emotions he never anticipated. The idea of falling in love, building a family, and experiencing the sheer joy of being utterly in love had always felt like a distant concept. But here he was, swept away by the currents of affection for Phoenix Wright.

The mere thought of a life without Phoenix seemed unfathomable, like a void waiting to consume the very essence of his existence. Love had entered his life, not as an abstract notion, but as a tangible force that had the power to reshape his entire world.

The realization struck him like a revelation – he was head over heels, unequivocally in love with Phoenix Wright.

The gravity of this love became almost unbearable.

Each passing moment without the assurance that Phoenix would be a permanent fixture in his life felt like an eternity. Miles couldn't tolerate the notion of waiting any longer; he yearned for the next chapter, the one where Phoenix was not just a part of his life but his husband.

The urgency to make Phoenix his forever overwhelmed him.

He wanted to seize this moment, this very second, to ask the question that lingered at the edge of his thoughts.

The desire to propose welled up within him like a torrent, and Miles couldn't ignore the impulse any longer.

In the midst of this whirlwind of emotions, Miles decided he couldn't wait any longer. The restaurant's ambiance, the melody of his partner’s favorite song, and the warmth in his chest – it all converged into the perfect setting. Right here, right now, Miles Edgeworth was determined to make Phoenix Wright his husband to be.

He wondered when those flowers he asked Sebasitan to order were coming…

"Hey, Miles?" The voice cut through Miles' thoughts like a gentle breeze, pulling him back to the present. It was Phoenix. Miles hadn't realized how deeply he had immersed himself in his thoughts, his love for Phoenix stealing away his awareness.

"Oh, I apologize. I seemed to have been lost in thought. What is it, Phoenix?" Miles inquired, blinking away the daze.

"I love you," the spiky-haired man stated with a grin.

Instantly, butterflies fluttered in Miles' stomach, and a stupidly wide smile crept onto his face. Words of affirmation were his absolute weakness, and hearing those three words and eight letters from Phoenix brought an immense joy that filled the restaurant.

Lost in the moment, Miles had forgotten that Kay and Sebastian were nearby, and this wasn't their home where such declarations were exchanged. But at that moment, he felt too happy and appreciative to care about anything else.

"I love you too, Phoenix," Miles replied, his voice filled with genuine affection.

Unbeknownst to them, Sebastian was in close proximity, engaged in a silent struggle with the delivery man over the roses. The scene, however, went unnoticed by the two men wrapped up in their own little world of love and shared affection.

“What are you doing man?! I need to give these flowers to those men over there!” The delivery man whispered loudly. He didn’t want to spoil the proposal so he tried his best to keep quiet as he fought with Sebastian.

“Plans off man! I made a grave mistake and it turns out the man over there is allergic to roses! We need to get those out of here pronto!” Sebastian said as he tried his best to grab the flowers out of the man’s hands.

“Come on dude! Who would be stupid enough to forget that! I really need to deliver these flowers now! I am already falling behind because of this argument we are having,” The delivery was not having any of this.

“Please forgive me for what I am about to do!” Sebastian spoke and this confused the delivery man.

“What do you me-”

Before the delivery man could get his words out, he was kicked in the nuts. Sebastian yoinked the flowers out of the man’s hands and Kay was on close stand by to cover the man’s mouth so he didn't make noise and quickly picked him up as he yelled into her hand in agony.

They ran off before either of the men could notice what had just happened. And like that, the crisis was avoided to the best of the siblings abilities.

"Did anyone else just see what happened?" Klavier inquired, turning to the rest of the team.

"I'm trying my best not to hurl looking at Mr. Wright and Mr. Edgeworth's disgustingly cute romance," Athena declared with a mock gagging motion.

"Yep, totally," Apollo and Trucy chimed in, echoing Athena's sentiments.

"So... no one else just saw those two individuals kick a man in the genitals and then run with his roses?" Klavier asked in confusion, eyebrows raised. He couldn't comprehend why he seemed to be the only one freaked out about the bizarre exchange he had just witnessed.

“Sorry, Klav. I don’t think any of us saw what just went down. But, honestly this seems like a normal day of our lives, if I am being honest,” Apollo spoke and Klavier shrugged in a sort of agreement. He guessed it really wasn’t something out of the ordinary for their lives.

Miles had not noticed that his team had dragged a man out of the restaurant and thought they had simply timed things wrong for the proposal but he wasn’t really worried about it. He knew he could trust the two of them. He was just going to enjoy the moment with his partner.

Karen, their server, returned after a few more moments of silent admiration with the first meal, which happened to be Miles'. However, it wasn't the designated proposal meal.

Miles opened his dish and was instantly puzzled. "Sorry, but I asked for no onions."

"And I asked my boyfriend not to leave me. We can't all get what we want, can we?" Karen, with a sassy grin, retorted.

The unexpected comeback left the man speechless, opting not to provoke the server any further. The atmosphere at the table lightened with a shared chuckle between Miles and Phoenix. Despite the unexpected twist in their dining experience, the couple found amusement in Karen's witty retort.

"Looks like we've got a comedian for a server," Phoenix remarked, his eyes glinting with amusement.

"Indeed, it seems so. Let's hope the rest of the evening unfolds without any more surprises,” Miles nodded in agreement, suppressing a smile.

As Karen returned to retrieve the most important meal of Phoenix's life, the description Trucy had provided to the chef proved to be less precise than anticipated. Unbeknownst to everyone at the restaurant that night, two different couples fit the same description, and luck did not favor Phoenix and Miles in this scenario. The ring, the symbol of a significant moment in their lives, had found its way to another couple.

A.R. Head and Earl E. Riser sat at the table, their features inadvertently matching the vague description Trucy had given. Earl, with glasses and dark hair, and A.R., with light hair and a blue suit, found themselves unwitting recipients of the special meal. Karen, following the information given to her, placed the carefully crafted dish in front of the wrong couple and went about her duties.

"What is that waitress doing?! Why is Earl here of all places? That meal is supposed to be for papa and daddy! Aurgh! Maven, that damn chef, you had one job!" Trucy, realizing the mix-up, couldn't contain her frustration.

“Earl? Like Earl E. Riser? That technician i was impersonating last week?” Apollo looked questioningly. The man looked absolutely nothing like Apollo. He is so glad that Mr. Edgeworth had never met the man previous to that moment or else he would’ve been screwed.

“Yeah, that's the same Earl. He seems to be here with husband. Hopefully daddy doesn’t see him because those too get along really well and always get lost in conversation,” Trucy smiled for a moment before realizing the severity of the situation, “Anyways! I can’t believe this is happening!”

"Guys… I am not sure if this is too soon, but is this an appropriate time to freak out?" Athena asked, sensing the tension in the air.

"I think so…" Apollo stared intently at the table where the meal had accidentally gone. "What do we do, guys? Do we just go up to them and ask for the ring back?"

"No! That would be so awkward and give us away. Let's just hope they are nice people and send the ring back," Klavier responded to his partner's suggestion.

"Kalvin’s right; that would give us away instantly. For now, all we can do is wait and watch," Trucy declared, her concern etched on her face. The fate of the evening hung in the balance as the group anxiously observed the unintended recipients of the proposal meal, hoping that they would understand the gravity of the situation.

A.R. opened the tray, anticipation in his eyes, only to find a beautiful wedding band nestled inside. Looking at his partner with genuine confusion, he couldn't help but ask, "Are you asking me to marry you?"

His partner, Earl, looked at him with a mix of disbelief and amusement.

"My love, we've been married for five years now. We have two children together…” Earl couldn’t help but chuckle at his husband's memory.

A.R.'s eyes widened, realization dawned on him. "Oh! Right, right. Sorry, honey. I sometimes forget these things." He chuckled, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment.

"It's okay, dear. I know you can be forgetful sometimes,” Earl shook his head, a fond smile playing on his lips, “This was probably meant for another couple. Let me call the server over again and we can get this sorted out.”

As A.R. and Earl shared a moment of laughter and understanding, the group observing from a distance exchanged bewildered glances. Trucy, Athena, Apollo, and Klavier found themselves caught between relief and amusement, grateful that A.R. and Earl seemed to be taking the situation in good humor.

Earl passed the ring over to another server who apologized for the mishap. The trio, now frantic after noticing that Earl had handed over the ring to the waiter, exchanged desperate glances.

Sensing the urgency, Apollo decided to take matters into his own hands. Making eye contact with the waiter carrying the ring, he got out of his and began making his way towards the waiter. He intentionally bumped into him with a force that sent the poor server tumbling as well as the ring flying across the floor. He did not mean for that to happen but it was now too late to back down.

In the midst of the chaos and commotion, harsh words resonated through the air as the visibly angered waiter directed his frustration at Apollo.

"Watch where you're going, you clumsy idiot!" The waiter's voice rang out.

Apollo, attempting to ease the tension, stated, "I'm truly sorry about that; it wasn't intentional. Let's just calm down."

"Calm down? You just ruined everything!" The waiter said, showing no signs of backing down.

The exchange swiftly escalated, and before any intervention could occur, it descended into a physical scuffle.

Apollo, maintaining his defense, declared, "I've apologized! There's no need for this!"

The waiter, pushing back, retorted, "Sorry won't fix this mess you've made!"

Just as the situation threatened to escalate, Klavier, always the charismatic mediator, swiftly approached and took charge.

"Apologies for the commotion! My friend here can be a bit clumsy sometimes," Klavier said with a charming smile, diverting attention away from Apollo's intentional collision.

However, the waiter remained unswayed by Klavier's charm, insisting on continuing the confrontation with Apollo. Klavier, determined to diffuse the situation, took a different approach.

"Are you attacking us because we are gay?" Klavier questioned with a raised eyebrow, introducing a surprising element into the already tense atmosphere. Everyone seemed to be having funny conversations tonight, he felt left out and wanted to join in on the fun.

The waiter, skeptical, wasn't buying Klavier's attempt to deflect.

"Nice try, but I'm not falling for that. You can’t just pull the gay card and think I will believe you because you two look… you know," replied the waiter and Klavier did not like what he was insinuating. Apollo was very confused on what was about to go down but he trusted his partner knew what he was doing.

Klavier, undeterred, decided to prove his point in the most straightforward way. Without hesitation, he turned towards Apollo and planted a firm kiss on his lips, right in front of the bewildered waiter.

"Now, do we have your attention, or would you like us to continue our impromptu performance?" Klavier, breaking the silence, said with a smirk.

"I... I didn't mean to—" The waiter, taken aback, stammered.

Klavier, ever the showman, interrupted, "No need to apologize, my friend. Let's just consider this a lesson in embracing diversity and avoiding unnecessary confrontations, shall we?"

That exchange had definitely shut the waiter up for good and he had completely forgotten what he was about to do. Klavier and Apollo began guiding the waiter to a chair so he could sit down and reflect on his actions.

In the meantime, the ladies were making moves! They didn’t want to stand out too much so they looked around to see what they could use to manvoer around the restaurant without seeming suspicious.

"Oh! Truman, look!" Athena pointed excitedly at a nearby cart, and Trucy immediately understood the plan. In one swift movement, she went from standing beside Athena to being under the cart, skillfully closing the curtains to ensure no one could see her.

Athena quickly made sure all her hair was tucked under her wig and began moving the cart around, surveying for any signs of the ring that had just been tossed across the room. People dining at the restaurant began assuming she was a waitress and started asking her questions and requesting things from her.

“Excuse me, ma’am, could I get a refill on my—”

“Not right now! I’m busy!” Athena quickly replied to the diner.

“Sorry to bother you, Miss, but could you bring me a nap—”

“Busy! Sorry!” She responded to the person sitting.

“Hey! How hard is it to get whiskey around here? You workers are all useless degenerates without college degrees!” A rude man said to Athena. She was in a bit of a time crunch, but she always had time to put assholes in their place.

“Do not speak to employees that way. They are doing their best and don’t get paid enough to be dealing with your bullshit, sir,” She said with a wide grin, but her face read, ‘Don’t mess with me, or I will end your life.’

This shut the man up for good, and he sat back down, not causing any further distractions or making any more rude remarks about the staff. Athena continued moving, trying to cover as much ground as possible to help Trucy.

Trucy was under the cart while Athena expertly navigated the terrain, steering the cart through the restaurant. Trucy, with her keen eyes, peeked out, searching for the glimmer of the elusive engagement ring. The dim light made the task challenging, but Trucy remained focused.

Finally spotting the ring near a decorative potted plant, she couldn't contain her excitement.

“Psst! Artemis! Go a little more left and move straight, I think I see the ring!” Trucy asked under the cart and Athena was quick to get the memo. She followed the magician’s directions and stopped her cart after receiving a tug from Trucy to let her know they were near.

With a swift and subtle movement, she reached out to grab it. However, her elation was short-lived as someone nearby began to freak out at the sight of Trucy's hand emerging from under the cart.

"There's a hand under the cart! What's going on here?" A patron asked. There seemed to be someone serving her food and Athena began sweating buckets thinking they would realize she wasn’t a part of the staff.

The server stared at Athena for a bit before realizing they didn't get paid enough to deal with what was happening.

“Ma’am there is no reason to yell, you might be seeing things. How about a nice red wine to cheer up the mood,” The waiter asked the patron who did not like that he was insisuting she was crazy.

“I’m not seeing things! I promise I saw a hand stick out of the cart!” The woman insisted with a determined look, her eyes fixated on the cart.

The tired employee let out an exasperated sigh, too fatigued to engage in a prolonged debate. “Alright, ma’am. I’ll check under the cart to show there is no one there,” he conceded, hoping to put an end to the escalating situation.

Athena and Trucy, however, were far from content with this compromise. Fear gripped them at the thought of their covert mission being exposed.

Startled, Trucy swiftly vanished back under the cart, skillfully drawing the curtains closed. Her mind raced, contemplating a quick escape plan before the waiter could reveal the secret act beneath the cart.

The server began to kneel, a sense of anticipation lingering in the air as he prepared to unveil the mystery beneath the cart's curtain.

When he did…

There appeared to be…

No one?

“Huh?” Athena puzzled to herself. Where could Trucy have possibly gone?!

“You see, ma’am. There is no one under the cart,” the waiter stated confidently, his tone carrying a hint of triumph. The patron, now looking utterly defeated, reluctantly accepted the reality that the hand she had seen was nowhere to be found.

Athena, unsure of how to proceed from this unexpected turn of events, decided to put the cart back in its place and return to her seat. She fervently hoped that Trucy had successfully retrieved the ring during the brief chaos.

As she glanced over at the table where Klavier and Apollo were seated, a peculiar scene unfolded before her. Apollo had hidden his face in his arms on the table, looking utterly embarrassed, while Klavier laughed heartily, sporting a big grin.

Curiosity getting the better of her, Athena approached the two men.

“Why are you so happy, and Apollo looks like that time he found out the store no longer sold his favorite hair gel?” Athena inquired with a mix of confusion and amusement.

“Oh, nothing, Fraulein Cykes. Just a sweet moment between lovers,” Klavier responded with a teasing smile, earning a playful hit on the arm from the embarrassed Apollo. The dynamic between the two men hinted at a shared intimacy that Athena hadn't fully grasped, but she decided not to press further, respecting their private moment.

“It’s nothing Artemis, we just got caught up in the moment I think. Were you and Truman able to find the ring?” Klavier asked the defence attorney.

“Oh! I think so? I can’t really be sure, before I could ask Trucy she had disappeared before we were caught by another server,” Athena giggled, “But, she should be showing up any time. Hopefully she was able to pick up the ring, but I don’t think it matters now. The whole plan seemed to be ruined. I think we really messed it up for Mr. Wright’s big night.”

Athena looked down to the table and felt sadness was over her. She knew they weren’t at fault for the dish going to the wrong table but couldn’t help but feel guilty. She wondered if Mr. Wright would be mad at them for ruining the biggest and most important day of his life.

“Hey… don’t think that way Artemis. We couldn’t have known that would happen and I don’t think he’s going to be mad at something we weren’t able to control,” Apollo stated and Klavier nodded in argreement, “Ja, everyone did their best and perhaps today wasn’t the day. Lots of things seemed to have gone wrong today, maybe it was the universes telling us all to plan for another day.”

“I hope you guys are right, I just can’t help but feel bad, you know. He’s waited so long for this,” Athena sighed. The two men also looked pretty down.

But, while wallowing in their own sadness, they received a text. It was from Trucy?

“Guys… I got a text from Truman?” Athena looked confused on why Trucy would be texting her instead of coming back to her seat. The two men were also intrigued so they came over to sit at Athena’s table and see what had happened.

Trucy!!: ‘thena! quickly! i need you to come here, pronto! insert maps location*

Athena <3: ?? What’s going on Trucy? Where are you? Did you get the ring?

Trucy!!: yes! i got the ring! just come to the location as fast as you possibly can, bring the gays with you! 👍

Athena <3: Okay! Got it :))

“You heard the woman! To this random location we go!” Athena declared, and they both followed suit.

"Well, if the lady says so, who are we to resist the call of adventure?" Klavier chuckled, a playful glint in his eye.

"Are you always this... enthusiastic about impromptu plans?" Apollo, still slightly embarrassed, raised an eyebrow at Klavier.

Klavier winked, "Life's too short to resist the unexpected, meine Liebe."

This brought out a blush on Apollo’s face and disgusted expression on Athena’s.

With that, the trio ventured towards the mysterious location, unknowingly stepping into the next chapter of their night.

Before that though, let’s just give a tiny flashback of what caused Trucy to send this random text!

“Kay?! Sebastian!?” Trucy yelled, “What in the world are you doing at the firework factory?!”

“We could ask you the same thing!” The pair both responded.

“Jinx!” Kay said.

“Double Jinx!” Sebastian replied.

“Triple Jinx!”

“Quadruple Jinx!”

“Enough!” Trucy yelled, “I don’t have time for this. My daddy’s proposal is in jeopardy because I really screwed up and now I need to fix it before it’s too late.”
Both Kay and Sebastian turned their heads towards the young magician.

“Wait… did you just say a proposal? Mr. Wright is proposing tonight?” Kay’s eyes began to widen in pure surprise.

“Well, he was supposed to be. The server brought the ring to the wrong table, and then the ring went flying. Everything has been so messed up today, and I think we ruined the proposal. However! I am here to get as many fireworks as possible and light them up so that they can see them at the park. I'm going to text Daddy that I slipped the ring into his pocket while I was leaving, and that he should propose when he sees all the fireworks!”

Trucy's eyes sparkled with determination as she explained her plan to Kay and Sebastian, who exchanged glances and had their mouths wide open.

“Why are you guys looking at me like that? And, why are you here again?” Trucy questioned the pair.

Kay and Sebastian, who were still exchanging surprised glances, then turned their attention back to Trucy. Kay, with a knowing smile, finally spoke up.

"Mr. Edgeworth's proposing today as well."

Trucy's eyes widened in astonishment. "Wait, what? They're both proposing tonight!? How did I not know about this?!"

Sebastian chuckled, his eyes glinting mischievously as he surveyed the scene unfolding before him. "Looks like it's a double proposal kind of night. Wow, who would've guessed that they would propose to each other on the same night?" He smirked, the glimmer of amusement dancing on his lips.

Kay, feeling a pang of embarrassment, rubbed the back of her neck. "We also came here to salvage the night because we sort of messed up and fought a poor delivery man over some roses."

"Oh wait! Klavier mentioned something about that! None of us saw him, and so we just sort of brushed it under the rug,” A wave of realization swept over Sebastian's face.

The bizarre turn of events left the brunette feeling like she was caught in a surreal fever dream. "Wait! Klavier is also here?" Sebastian inquired, and Trucy nodded excitedly.

"Yeah! So are Apollo and Athena! We were all there in the restaurant!" Trucy replied happily.

“Oh! That’s so neat that you were all executing this plan together!” Kay chimed in, still trying to process the unexpected collaboration, "Mr. Edgeworth asked us to help with the proposal, and we messed up, so we came here to get some fireworks and hopefully make it up to him."

“The roses were my fault. I misheard Mr. Edgeworth and seemed to have ruined the entire night because of it,” A tinge of remorse filled Sebastian's expression as he recalled the earlier mishaps.

Trucy, ever the optimist, interjected with enthusiasm.

"Hey now! Don’t beat yourself up over it! We all made mistakes tonight, and there is nothing we can do now but make this proposal somehow the best we possibly can!" She grinned, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I texted Athena to get over here as fast as she can with the lovers. If we are lucky, they both propose at the same time in harmony!"

Kay and Sebastian couldn't help but laugh, finding solace in the unexpected camaraderie formed amid the chaotic attempts to salvage the evening. The atmosphere buzzed with a blend of anticipation, mirth, and the hope of turning the double proposal into a truly memorable spectacle.

“Honestly, it is kind of fitting for them in a way. I can’t believe we couldn’t tell from all the signs that Mr. Wright was also proposing tonight. My first hint should’ve been that you guys also requested ‘Let’s get Married’” Kay said as she picked up some fireworks and began organizing them.

“You guys were also playing the song! I wondered why it came on so early and Athena went to go check and turns out someone else had requested it before us,” Trucy spoke as she helped Kay out.

Amidst the laughter and preparations, the door swung open, and in walked Apollo, Athena, and Klavier. Their eyes widened in surprise as they took in the unexpected presence of Kay and Sebastian.

“What are you two doing here?" Apollo asked, always the voice of reason.

“Yeah!? And what's with all the fireworks and celebration? Were you guys a hidden element this whole time for Mr. Wright’s proposal!?" Athena, with her usual enthusiasm, added.

"Ah, looks like we've stumbled upon a grand affair. Care to enlighten us, meine Freunde?" Klavier, sporting his charismatic grin, quipped.

Sebastian, still grinning, responded, "Well, it seems we're all here to salvage the night and make sure these proposals go off without a hitch."

The trio exchanged glances, and Athena chose to speak first.

“Wait. Why did you say ‘proposals’? Why is it plural?” Athena asked and Trucy looked at her with a big grin on her face.

They gave the ginger-haired woman a second to connect the dots before her eyes widened, and she began jumping around the room. "Wait, are you telling me that not only is Mr. Edgeworth proposing, but Mr. Wright is too? Tonight? In this very place?"
“I actually cannot believe that this is real life. I feel like I’m dreaming right now,” Apollo let out a tired laugh as he placed his hand on his forehead in exhaustion. Tonight had truly been a whirlwind.

"Ah, the drama! I wouldn't miss it for the world! Alright, tell us what we have to do and we will quickly set it up!" Klavier, with a theatrical flair, exclaimed.

As the group continued to organize the fireworks, the unexpected convergence of friends added another layer of charm to the already extraordinary night, setting the stage for a truly memorable series of proposals.

“Kay! Do you mind quickly texting Papa about the scene change while I message my dad?” Trucy asked the dark-haired woman who happily complied.

“On it, Boss!”

Phoenix POV:
My sweet girl❤️💖💕💗💓💖❤️: hi daddy! i hope you see this but scene change because some things happened 🥲 please head over to *insert park here* !!!! there will be a surprise for you there!!! bye love u so much!!

Miles POV:
Kay♥️: mr. edgeworth, so uhm change of plans! we will explain everything later but please head on over to *insert park here* without making it obvious to mr. wright! we have something planned for u there. talk soon!

The two men simultaneously felt a vibration from the notification. They both only had notifications on for their respective daughter in case of an emergency, so they both opened their phones and quickly read the message.

“Do you want to get out of here and go somewhere else?” Phoenix asked Miles who smiled.

“I was just about to ask you the same thing.”

They paid for their meal and Miles gave his therapists contact information to Karen before they left.

Phoenix and Miles stepped out of the restaurant, the night air cool and crisp. The city lights painted a picturesque backdrop as they considered where to go next.

"How about a walk in the park?" Phoenix suggested, linking his arm with Miles. Miles smiled warmly. "That sounds perfect."

As Phoenix and Miles strolled through the park, the atmosphere was infused with a sense of nostalgia. The moonlight cast a gentle glow, illuminating the path before them. With a shared smile, they began to reminisce about their journey together.

"Do you remember the first time we met?" Phoenix mused, his gaze fixed on the moonlit path.

Miles chuckled softly. "How could I forget? You barged into the courtroom, declaring, 'The defense is ready.' Little did I know, my life was about to change."

"And you were so... cold," Phoenix teased, nudging Miles playfully.

Miles rolled his eyes, a fond smile playing on his lips. "I prefer the term 'professional.' But you, Phoenix Wright, managed to thaw even the iciest of prosecutors."

Phoenix laughed and Miles couldn’t help but be attracted to it like a moth to a flame. It was as beautiful as the first day they met, when they re-met, even in tough situations, and through hard times. One thing that always stayed a constant through their ever changing lives was that gorgeous smile.

As Miles contemplated his feelings, he couldn't deny the depth of his love for Phoenix. It was more than just a desire to make him his husband; it was an overwhelming, all-encompassing love that had stood the test of time. Miles found himself enchanted by every nuance of Phoenix's being—the way his eyes sparkled with mirth, the warmth of his laughter, and the enduring strength of his spirit.

Walking side by side with Phoenix, Miles's heart swelled with affection. He couldn't wait to shower Phoenix with the love and care he deserved. The anticipation to propose was fueled not just by a longing to make Phoenix his husband but also by an earnest desire to continue building a life filled with shared laughter, unwavering support, and a love that only grew stronger with each passing day.

As they strolled hand in hand through the moonlit park, Miles couldn't help but steal glances at Phoenix, savoring the simple pleasure of being in love with someone so extraordinary.

Little did Miles know, but Phoenix was thinking the same things about him. As they strolled through the park, every detail of Miles's presence ignited a cascade of emotions within Phoenix. The warmth of Miles's hand in his, the way his glasses perfectly sat on his face and the way his eyes reflected a deep well of affection—all of it fueled a profound sense of love and admiration.

Phoenix couldn't help but marvel at the man beside him. Miles's patience, his unwavering support through thick and thin, and the quiet strength he exuded were the cornerstones of their relationship. Each glance, each shared laugh, and the gentle way Miles held him told a story of a love that had weathered storms and emerged stronger.

As Phoenix stole glances at Miles, he couldn't help but notice the subtle details—the way moonlight played on his hair, the genuine smile that adorned his face, and the gentleness in his eyes that held a world of love. Phoenix was enamored, not just by the idea of the proposal, but by the man who had become the center of his universe.

With each step they took, Phoenix felt a sense of gratitude for having Miles by his side. The love he felt for Miles surpassed words; it was a profound connection that echoed in the very core of his being. Phoenix's heart whispered promises of a future filled with shared dreams, laughter, and the enduring warmth of Miles Edgeworth's love.

As they walked hand in hand under the moonlit sky, Phoenix cherished the simple joy of being deeply, irrevocably in love with the extraordinary man beside him. The anticipation of what awaited them only added to the magic of the moment, as they both unknowingly reveled in the depth of their mutual love and affection.

“You know if you asked me to hide a body for you, I’d do it. No questions asked,” Phoenix said out of nowhere.

Miles looked over to his partner in pure confusion as he raised an eyebrow.

“W-what brought this on?” Miles didn’t know if he should be worried, scared or honoured.

"Oh, nothing in particular. Just thinking about how deep our trust goes. I mean, it's the ultimate test, right?" Phoenix chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

“I never expect normalcy with you,” Miles laughed and Phoenix wanted to kiss him so badly but this conversation was funny so he wanted to continue forward with it.

Phoenix laughed, the sound echoing through the night air. "True, but it's nice to know that if we ever found ourselves in a tight spot, you'd have my back, and I'd have yours."

"I can't believe I'm discussing hiding bodies as a testament to our trust. What a bizarre conversation,” Miles rolled his eyes playfully.

"It's our kind of bizarre," Phoenix replied with a grin, squeezing Miles's hand. "Besides, it's the weird conversations that make us who we are."

Miles couldn't argue with that logic, and a sense of warmth filled him. "Just promise me we'll stick to more conventional tests of trust, okay? I'd rather not have to worry about hiding any bodies."

"Deal,” Phoenix chuckled again and applied a quick kiss to Miles' cheek. The grey-haired man flushed and smiled at the blue-suited man next to him

As they continued their walk through the park, the conversation shifted back to the more lighthearted and romantic aspects of their love.

Before they knew it, they got a text from their respective daughter.

Phoenix POV:
My sweet girl❤️💖💕💗💓💖❤️: hey there daddy-o! so change of plans uhm… something is on fire and we need to put it out 😭 😭so sorry !!! we will apologize when we get home but if you want to propose at the park, the ring’s in your pocket! lovee you so much daddy! <3333

Miles POV:
Kay♥️: heyy mr. edgeworth, so uhm change of plans! once again. theres been a fire and we need to put it out :(( so sorry for ruining your big day. seb and i did our best but we obviously fell short, we will see you tomorrow and explain what happened. but if you do want to propose, just know i was able to sneak the ring into your pocket! so it might not be the most romantic but, its something :)) love u !

They both let out a sigh. Maybe today just wasn’t the day for a proposal.

"Long day, huh?" Phoenix asked his partner who looked exhausted.

Miles nodded, leaning into the warmth of Phoenix's presence. "Tell me about it... Do you want to sit down on the grass near the lake?"

Phoenix smiled, appreciating the suggestion. "I'd love nothing more than to sit next to a lake with the love of my life."

They found a quiet spot near the lake, the gentle rustle of leaves and the soft lapping of water creating a serene backdrop. As they settled onto the grass, Miles sighed, feeling the accumulated weight of the day slowly lifting

They shared a quiet moment, the moonlight casting a gentle glow on the water. Phoenix leaned his head against Miles's shoulder, and Miles wrapped an arm around him, pulling him closer. The day's challenges seemed to melt away as they found solace in each other's arms.

As they cuddled on the grass, a sense of tranquility settled between them. Phoenix traced patterns on Miles's hand, their fingers intertwining effortlessly. The night air held a comforting coolness, and the distant sounds of the city faded into the background, leaving only the rhythmic symphony of nature.

Miles pressed a gentle kiss to Phoenix's forehead, his touch conveying a silent reassurance.

“What was that for, handsome?” Phoenix giggled.

“Just reminiscing about old times. I confessed my love for you on a grass field, if you recall,” Miles said.

“Oh, you’re right. You did do that, didn’t you? Gosh, we were both so drunk, and I was a crying mess. It was so embarrassing. Every time I look back at it, I want to punch my younger self,” Phoenix reminisced, wincing at the thought of his past actions.

“Yeah, but you were voicing your feelings and emotions. I thought you did an excellent job at getting mad at me,” Miles chuckled, recalling the intense emotions of that moment. “Even though I was scared out of my mind that you would reject me, I do not regret the way it happened. Sure, it wasn’t the most romantic confession, but it's unique, and it's ours, and that’s all I can really ask for.”

“You are so perfect in every way, you know that?” Phoenix smiled. “Finding good things in less-than-ideal situations.”

“I learned from the best,” Miles leaned in to kiss Phoenix, who happily reciprocated the kiss.

Maybe tonight wasn’t the night for either of their marriage proposals, but it was a beautiful night nonetheless. As they sat by the lake, fingers intertwined and hearts connected, the gentle rustle of leaves and the soft ripples of the water painted a picturesque scene. For now, they cherished the simplicity of being together, wrapped in the beauty of an incredible night and the promise of a love that would and could only grow stronger with time.
