Chapter Text
Nagatoro sat alone in the living room, the tanned cutie being planted on a couch. Up above was she staring at the ceiling, which was decorated with dozens of little festive lights, the glowing specks and the darkness of the room resembling stars in the night.
Wearing a yukata, she had gone through with her plan, courtesy of one of a fellow swim club member, whom she had discreetly (and shamelessly) eavesdropped on days ago:
Make her own summer festival. A lovely, homemade attempt at celebrating an amazing event with her dear Senpai, who would be back in America by the time the real one would come.
It was nowhere as "spazzy." The Toro Home simply didn't have the space to allow for a dozen food booths and carnival games, and she legally couldn't pop off fireworks like the actual thing, but that didn't stop her. Nagatoro had missed so many opportunities with him. Hell, she missed him in general before he had came back, and even if it was only temporary, she'd make the most out of their last few days together.
Of course, that didn't mean she didn't prepare anything nice for him. She, along with the help of her older sister, worked together to cook up trays of foods to keep them well fed and happy. Gamo-chan and the rest of her friends had came through as well. The end result was that they had whipped together WAY too much food for only two people. Nagatoro knew that she'd surely have to have takeout boxes for leftovers. She wasn't planning on wasting anything.
Yoshi especially would appreciate that, the gluttonous goof she was.
Checking the time, Nagatoro saw that it was nearing 8 PM. She had texted her Senpai to come over earlier, maybe a bit near six, and he agreed. Their exchange could be summed up by the following:
"Sup Senpai! Come to my place tonight! I got something to show you :3"
"haha, okay"
"Just don't stalk me through my window!"
She didn't inform him about anything related to her plan. She wanted to see the look on his face when he would see just what she wanted to show him. The girl even had another yukata to throw on him immediately.
It was going to be a special night, and she was going to make sure it'd be extra extra EXTRA special after everything he'd been through. Nagatoro was dead set on making sure that this night would be one to remember for years to come.
Just then, before her very eyes, a strange light appeared. A light not from any of the festive decorations she had set up. Startled, Nagatoro threw her phone down and shot up to her feet.
The light was.. unlike anything she had ever seen. It was orange, with multiple hexagon-shaped rings orbiting around each other, and its overall shaped looked.. otherworldly. Even.. glitchy.
She had no idea what the hell she was looking at, and she was positive that none of the lights she used were defective, nor capable of producing that kind of display.
Suddenly, a figure emerged. A man.. a man much, MUCH taller than her, and quite possibly anyone she had seen in her life. A man with a very prominent and imposing back, wearing..
...
..she didn't even know.
The man, whose face was concealed by his indescribable outfit, loomed over the poor girl. Said poor girl was too stunned to even move.
Was this guy an alien? An astronaut? From the future? Her head was spinning but her body was frozen solid, petrified like a statue.
He spoke after what felt like hours to her. "Hayase Nagatoro," he said in a soft, yet strangely stern-sounding tone.
Hayase Nagatoro.. the bastard knew her name!
"U- U- Uh-" She couldn't even stifle a word.
He extended an arm out, seemingly trying to.. ease her. "It's alright. I'm not a threat."
She just blinked. A threat??
What he said next, however, made her want to pinch herself to wake her ass up.
"I'm from another dimension."
This time, she finally did say something. "A- A- A- A what?"
He continued, not repeating himself but rather elaborating further despite her clearly needing a double take. "My name is Miguel O'hara."
"I lead an elite strike force dedicated to the security of the multiverse."
"And I'm here to offer you and your friends a spot in the club."
Nagatoro watched with wide eyes as this "Miguel O'hara" held out his palm, where a watch of some sort materialized from a hologram.
She still had no idea about anything he just said. Multiverse? Club? Strike force?? Dedicated to the security of the multiverse??
"..c- club..?" Poor Toro stammered.
He tilted his head very slightly to the side. "You're the Neko-Spider. One of three Spider-Men of Earth-04112021, right?"
Ne.. Neko-Spider? Spider-Men.. like the f**king* comic book character?! Earth-0411.. whatever the hell he said?! Miguel wasn't doing a good job at explaining himself or.. anything!
Her eyes just went wide again.
"You, along with Hana Sunomiya and Naoto Hachioji protect your world as Neko-Spider."
"Silk."
"And Spider-Man."
"You know him, specifically, as The Amazing Mangaka."
Yeah, she had to have been dreamin'..
Nagatoro's silence from her inability to comprehend what Miguel was saying compelled him to check if..
"..."
"..."
"..Lyla, scan this dimension."
Nagatoro's mind was almost about to explode when a very tiny hologram of a woman wearing a coat appeared next to Miguel. The woman, who she could just barely guess to be Lyla, phased in and out in various places throughout the living room, shining cones of orange beams all over the place.
Moments went by, and..
"This isn't our Hayase."
Now it was Miguel's turn to be stunned. "What?"
"Yep, we're in the wrong dimension."
"This isn't Earth-04112021..?"
"Nope, this is Earth-80721. No Spider-Man exists here."
"Are you-"
"Yeep."
Miguel looked back at Nagatoro, who was.. yeah, you could guess what she was lookin' like.
"..I'm, uh." Miguel looked at little Lyla giving him the most cheeky grin ever. "..."
"..I'm sorry about this. I'll be-"
Lyla interrupted him. "Nice job, Team-Leader."
"Lyla-"
Miguel just walked back into the portal in the middle of her teasing, and soon disappeared from the dimension, leaving a very, very shaken Nagatoro.
Her phone dinged, and she took some time to look over.
Her Senpai had arrived.
