Hey guys, it's been a while.
A lot has happened to me since the start of my hiatus. I broke up with my boyfriend of five years, my car took a shit, and I was super busy with work. My mental health has not been great at all and I've honestly just been struggling to keep myself afloat. I'm steal dealing with certain things, which includes me suddenly being fired last week for no discernable reason. Unfortunately, as I live in an "At-Will" state, my employer was not obligated to provide a reason for my termination so he didn't. It's a really shitty situation and I'm having a hard time processing it. On the bright side, I do have a backup plan and a decent savings, so I'm not utterly hanging out to dry.
As you know, my little fingers go into overdrive when I'm unemployed and I'm expecting that this time will be no different. I have several WIPS and one-shot ideas that I'm itching to share with you guys. But that also brings me to the status of my two in-progress multi-chapter fics.
"Bound As We Are" is going to be discontinued. I'm sorry to everybody that has been following along until now, but I simply do not have any ideas for the sequel. I feel the ending of the first fic wrapped everything up pretty nicely. At first, I had wanted to dive deeper into how Soap could communicate with Simon's mother and the supernatural aspect of that, but I really just can't figure out how to make it work/make sense. Not only that, but, even though I have plenty of ideas for the three after retirement, they don't all fit together. Instead of continuing "Bound As We Are" as a single fic, I'm going to continue their story as one-shots and 2-3 chapter snippets. So, don't worry, you'll still get to see more of my Shifter!AU, just not in long-form fic content. "Bound As We Are will be deleted at the end of the week unless enough people want it to stay up.
That being said, I will also be taking this time between jobs to completely rework the first fic in the installation, "The Bonds That Hold Us Together". I reread it recently and I realized a lot of things mentioned/hinted at in earlier chapters just didn't make any sense. I'm also not a huge fan of the pacing, so I'm hoping to make it more of a *slow burn* than it currently is.
As for "141 Cyprus Street", that fic is still safe. It's still going to be on hiatus, but worry not, I am actively working on it. I got severe tunnel vision with the Ghoap content that I completely forgot about the whole "Price getting married" part of the fic. So I will be doing my best to weave those two more cohesively together. I'm unsure when I will start posting for it again, but I will. I promise I haven't forgotten about it.
