Chapter Text
Uraraka had left Izuku's room, and she ended up persuading him to eat so he could clear his mind for a while. He only had a radius of 3 meters, so at most, he would only be able to read the minds of the people sitting by his table. So it wasn't much, compared to 19 other students
Izuku was sitting at the end of their table's seats, and Katsuki was also sitting at the end of his table's seat. So they were practically sitting next to each other! Well, Katsuki was close enough for Izuku to hear his thoughts. Only if he listened really carefully, though.
Katsuki along with other students that helped him prepare dinner, had made Udon for this evening. It was really tasty, really! Izuku wasn't complaining. But the amount of stuff he was hearing didn't really help with his appetite, made it kind of worse actually.
Shit, I was so hungry!
Dang, this is good
I have to cram my assignments later. Cementoss is gonna kill me if I didn't pass Modern Literature for the second time!
What time is it?
Craving Tempura but Udon is just as good.
Why the fuck are you just staring at your food?
"Huh?" Izuku muttered in response out of pure instinct. "I asked a question." Katsuki scoffed, stabbing the noodles from his own bowl. Oh, so it wasn't a thought. He actually said that. Izuku figured, twirling his fork around the noodles of his Udon.
Well, he wouldn't exactly be lying if he said he wasn't hungry anymore. But he knew he had to eat, his stomach would hurt later when he tries to sleep and he won't get a good night's rest. And there's classes tomorrow, so he needs a full 8 hours worth of sleep.
Wait... Classes tomorrow! How can he focus?!
His head was throbbing violently from the amount of chatter that only he could hear! And not to mention, he's only hearing 8 people's thoughts at once right now and it already has his head in a whirl. People's thoughts are super relentless and sadly, they can never bare to be silent. Especially when they're bored.
"Oh- Ah, nothing. A lot's just going on" The green haired boy said in response, purposefully avoiding eye contact and instead turning to look at his seatmate Uraraka who was now looking at him in worry.
The fuck's up with him?
"You okay, Deku?" She questioned, sipping the broth from her almost-finished bowl. Izuku hummed in agreement, but we all know that isn't fine. His head hurts like hell.
Eventually, the hellhole ended. Dinner was over and some of them were already washing the dishes. Izuku stood up from his seat and took one more sip of water, laying it on the table once he was done. He turned around and was immediately jumpscared by Katsuki towering over him like he was feets taller (their height difference is a mere 3 inches) with his arms crossed. "Well?" The blonde spoke, expecting an answer.
"Well what, Kacchan?" Izuku spoke, crossing his arms too.
Your haircut looks stupid.
Izuku suppressed speaking back to defend himself and his haircut (which was not defendable at this point), looking quite flabbergasted by the unsaid insult. But that would just blow his stupid quirk accident. And besides, his hair was growing out! The bald spot was at least 1 inch long now.
"Training. Don't we do this every single day?" Katsuki scoffed, walking out of the dormitories expecting the green haired boy to trail after him. And he did. Of course.
They always train behind the dormitories during evenings, so they wouldn't cause too much chatter and grab too much attention from their peers. And the night air's just better for some reason.
This'll be easy. I'd immediately know Kacchan's moves. Izuku thought to himself as they walked to their training spot.
I'm getting way too desperate to spend time with this nuthead. I sound miserable and down bad, I feel damn sorry for myself.
Again with these unexpected thoughts! Who does this — guy think he is?!
And then, training started.
Izuku commenced their training by charging at Katsuki with full cowl, Katsuki charging at him with two blasts in the face which Izuku had dodged with ease by using Fa Jin and Float, propelling him in the air.
Fucking kill him in the air, right side.
Katsuki blasted up he was at the same latitude as he was, going for his right side. Since Izuku already knew what his motives were, he dodged with ease. He kicked him whilst in the air with his left leg — One for All, 5%
That might cause some bruising, which, Izuku is sorry for, but right now he's focusing on winning their sparring.
Katsuki's mind was silent except for some DIEs and GO FUCK YOURSELFs here and there, usually moving on instinct (which makes Izuku still have a hard time). But whenever he does think about what moves to use next, he dodges with ease.
They were currently at ground level, hitting and dodging everything thrown at each other constantly. Izuku threw a kick here and there, but Katsuki knows better than to get hit by some 'weak kicks from a weak nerd'.
Dodging? That's really fucking handsome you know, fuckface.
Izuku can't hide his flustered face anymore, he can't with this damn quirk thing! He propelled himself once more in the air, a bit too far for him to read Katsuki's mind since the quirk had a radius of 3 meters. He had danger sense, but it wasn't really helping a ton since Katsuki's hits weren't filled with malice since they were training. He was hit unexpectedly behind, leading him to fall but he catches himself last minute using black whip. It was already too late though, since Katsuki had already pushed him and pinned him to the ground.
His body was sprawled on the soft grass, the weight of the blond on his limbs. In fairness, Katsuki was only using one arm since he was still taking physical therapy for the other but he still pinned him so effectively.
Katsuki's left arm dug onto Izuku's jaw, pressing his head on the ground whilst one of his legs pressed on his torso, the other on one of Izuku's legs.
Both of them were heavily panting, and they were also heavily sweating. Especially Katsuki due to his quirk. He smelled exactly just like caramel, he smelled so freaking sweet and‐ what the heck?!
Damn, that's hot. What if we just make out right now?
HUH?
Okay — WHAT?
"Ah- Uh, I think that's enough — we-we have school tomorrow and- hah-" He fumbled, trying so hard to avoid eye contact. He was nervous and sweaty and panicking and panting and TRYING TO GET HIMSELF TOGETHER!
"And what?" Katsuki raised a brow at the green haired boy's super red face. He still pinned him to the ground but not as hard.
Izuku headbutted him in response, really really freaking out. It might leave another bruise on both of their foreheads but there are more problems in the world for him to worry about right now!
Katsuki braced the thumping bruise on his head, and Izuku used this opportunity as an advantage to get away from the scene. He ran away, but Katsuki sadly caught up to him.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" The blonde shouted after him, leading him to stop in his tracks for a while. The green haired boy turned to look at him from afar, before responding with "Getting away!"
"What the fuck?" Katsuki muttered to himself as they maintained eye contact.
They were just beside the dormitory building — it was dark, the only source of light were coming from the clear windows of the building that was still lit open. It illuminated part of Izuku's face, and trust me, he looked so damn gorgeous to Katsuki right now.
"What's up with you? Did I do something wrong?" Katsuki questioned, walking over to him. They were standing in front of each other now.
Shit, did I say what I said back there out loud?
"No, you didn't say anything out loud." Izuku said in response, fiddling with the hem of his shirt.
"I-"
"Listen, I got hit with a stupid mind reading quirk and I can read anybody's mind for crying out loud! Well, as long as they're inside this 3 meter radius. I'm so- It's just overwhelming, you know? I- I don't know what to think of it either. So let's just forget this and-"
"So you heard everything on my mind?" Katsuki raised a brow, feeling the feeling of horror creep up his skin slowly but surely.
"Yes. And I heard about how freaking handsome I am too. Do you- Do you really think that?" He questioned, embarrassed.
"And if I do?"
"Then— I feel the same way."
