Chapter Text
As Francais stares at the angel in front of him he notices how he seems somewhat familiar.
The guard had short dirty blonde hair with contrasting dark tan skin. He was wearing what seemed to be more elegant clothes than the other angels and was holding a crystal spear with marks engraved on them and gold handles; this wasn't a guard. But the most familiar thing about him was the eyes that were a mix between a dark indigo and an even darker violet.
As francais stares at the young boy for a bit longer he remembers a name. “Mathieu?”
Mathew looks at him and holds his spear high, right before it looks like hell' stroke he points to an open window instead mouthing something. As Francis looked at the boy with suspicion for a moment before reminding himself.
He can trust Matthew.
He jumps out of the window and into a tree below. It was a cushioned fall and he smiles up at the angel to say thankyou but he is long gone now. That's okay; he just needs to escape now.
As he looks out at the magnificent skies of the Angel kingdom he thinks about how beautiful it is. He’s never had the chance to notice how pretty the marble streets, and the elegant carvings into the walls were because he'd never had the chance to be here without the intent to stain the marble with the unnatural colored blood that came from the angels.
While he'd love to stay he has a duty as the king of the demons to return home and end this war. Plus the demon kingdom was far more beautiful and he wouldn't get shot on sight there. So now he needs to escape this marvelous city.
As he looks around he notices the gates where a few of the guards standing buy; they could be too hard to get buy or kill but the slightly bigger problem was getting threw the angel filled city . Francias steadily climbs down from the tree making sure to make as little noise as possible to not alert the guards while his brain thought up a plan.
He knew very little about the angel kingdom but from what he'd heard from escaped hostages that the town was a maze to get through. He sighed and looked around for the nearest guard, he was chatting absentmindedly to one of the princes who seemed quite upset with the recent ambush.
Had his men really failed that hard at ridding the angels of their precious royal family. He rolled his eyes before redirecting his attention back towards the metal gate which the guard was garding. The prince was there so murder wasn't a very smart option if not an option at all so what was a good plan.
He was so lost in thought that you'd think he didnt notice Mathew coming along holding a basket of some sort.
“Hey Alfie, have you checked up on Arthor yet.” Mathew asked, trying not to be obvious with his eyes searing around the yard, probably for Francias.
“I just can't believe those dirty-” Alfred paused his conversation with the guard and eyed Mathew suspiciously. “No I haven't, why do you ask?” Alfred turned his attention to his brother.
“Well you know are brother- I mean the king often hides things and it seemed as if he was having a bit of trouble with… things earlier and maybe you, his favorite brother, could help him?”
Alfred's suspicion went from worry to cheerfulness. “I’m sure I’m not Arties favorite but I could still check up on him if you're really worried. Thanks for letting me know, big bro.” Alfred hopped along leveling the guard, Mathew, and Francias alone.
The smile fell from Mathew’s face as with a swift movement he turned around and knocked the guard out with a punch. “Oh I do hope he doesn't get a concussion,” Mathew sighed, sounding a bit sorry for the guy he literally just knocked out.
Francias moves from his hiding place, a wide grin on his face. “Mon ami, has anyone ever told you that you were the best spy this world has seen.”
Mathew’s smile returned and with it a slight blush of embarrassment at the complement. “Thank you your majesty, and actually I think your general who has red hair tells me at least several times whenever I do anything.”
“I really should've prompted Elizebeth instead of that slightly pathetic mess, but you know his words are true you know.”
“Thank you.” Mathew blushes a bit more and then starts getting something out of his basket.
“What do you have there?”
Mathew hands what seems to be a pile of cloth or some clothes to a confused Francias. “Well uhh, in angel culture the young women angels who have not… usually wear head scarves and specific clothes to show, you know, purity. It would conceal your horns and tail and stuff, you also wouldn't be too suspicious. It’s the best plan i had-”
“The best plant you had was for me to dress up as a virgin and walk out of the city unscathed?”
“I had to come up with something quick.”
“No, it's fine.”
Francias took the clothes and hid back behind a bush and changed. When he walked out he looked like a fucking weirdo and not even sweet Mathew could help but laugh as he handed a map to the city.
“Shut up.” Francias sighed pretending that he didn't secretly like the clothes.
>><<
Francias was wondering if he should be offended how well that worked? No one had asked any questions, wondered if he was lying when he dressed like he was a girl, no one even flirted with him to show that he wasn't even a pretty girl.
He honestly thought that he looked quite nice in that outfit.
Francias, who had been slowly taking off the extra clothing now that he was in the demon kingdom, looked up at his castle. It was quite elegant with the strange and gothic carvings into the dark stone.
But if he were telling the truth, he did enjoy and appreciate the angel's art.
“Excuse me miss, you can't go this close to the castle when oh–” one of his soldiers who was wearing chainmail armor came along and started looking a bit angry at him before Francias turned around and he could see the king's face. “My apologies, your majesty, how may I assist you.”
“Go tell the maids to prepare a bath and find some suitable clothes.” Francias said praying that his subject wouldn't question him on his current choice of clothes.
The guard thankfully didn't ask. “Should I tell the generals that you're still alive.”
“They believed that I could be killed? Leave it as a surprise then.”
The general saluted and walked off.
Sometime later Francias walked into the meeting room between the two generals and the other two who were basically generals at this point.
“Honhonhon, Bojior mother fuckers guess who lived?”
