She wakes to a knocking on the door. She stumbles out of bed, blinking, utterly dazed.
“Hello, Lucy.”
He’s wearing a new suit, but that same familiar grin.
“Lockwood?”
“Sorry it’s a bit early, I…”
She slams into him, wrapping her arms around his frail ribs with bruising force.
“Oomph. Is, uh, everything alright?”
“Bad dream,” she whispers.
His arms come around her. It feels like so long since anyone held her.
She’s still in Tooting, which means…
“Sorry,” she mutters, stepping back awkwardly.
“It’s no problem,” he says with a shy smile. “I’ve, uh, missed you.”
“Yeah. Me too.”
