1. Humans
Name: Niko "Hiccup" Haddock
-Age: 15
-Appearance: Reddish-brown hair with unevenly parted bangs, pale face with freckles, hazel eyes
-Details: pretty shy, prefers to read or make contraptions (either with LEGOs or parts he bought/borrowed from his side job). Ostracized due to his clumsy nature and nonexistent social life, nicknamed Hiccup by some particularly mean kids a while back.
Name: Valt "Stoic" Haddock
-Age: 45
-Appearance: Red hair, usually pulled back in a man bun with an unruly, bushy beard. Tanned skin with no freckles, hazel eyes.
-Details: Niko's father and the sheriff of the town. Essentially the leader since the mayor only shows his face for press conferences and passes off his duties to Valt. Too busy to spend any time with his son and wishes Niko was more like the other children.
Name: Astrid Hofferson
-Age: 15
-Appearance: blond hair, always kept in a braid, blue eyes
-Details: very strong, physically and emotionally. Sees Niko as a coward because of limited interactions and therefore has an initial distaste towards him. Has been in the Junior Responders program for most of her life.
Name: Roy "Belch" Gobbern
-Age: 50
-Appearance: gray/blonde hair kept in a ponytail, blue eyes, prothesthetic leg and missing hand
-Details: Former firefighter medic who now leads the Junior Responders program every Wednesday night. Despite being half a century old, he still works as a mechanic (Hiccup now does most of the work because of his missing hand) and is a jokester at heart. Best friends with Valt.
Names: Karkea "Ruff" and Kovo "Tuff" Thorsten
-Age: 14
-Appearance: both blond, brown eyes, slender faces and relatively skinny. Ruff has her hair in two braids and Tuff always has his hair down (shoulder-length).
-Details: Twin brother and sister that think they are THE kids ever. The only way to distinguish them is their clothes and hair. The most mischievous kids in town, they're usually the source of any and all gossip or rumors. Skipped a grade because of an incident in preschool.
Name: Kuono "Snot" Jorgenson
-Age: 15
-Appearance: Black spiky hair, blue eyes, and just a bit of facial hair.
-Details: Niko's slightly older cousin, but they very rarely interact to the point where Snotlout constantly teases him along with some of the older kids. Has a crush on Astrid and mainly joined the Junior Responders because she was in it.
Name: Kävel "Fish" Ingerman
-Age: 14
-Appearance: Short blonde hair that looks like it was smashed against his skull. Has green eyes and definitely overweight.
-Details: The biggest nerd in the Junior Responders. Skipped a grade because of his intelligence (and still manages to one-up everybody in school).
Translations for names:

2. Cats
Name: Toothless
-Sex/Age: male, about 1 year old
-Appearance: pure black cat with big green eyes. Right hind leg is slightly bent at an angle, so he is always limping. Missing one tooth, the others are still there despite what you may think.
Name: Stormfly
-Sex/Age: female, about 2 years old
-Appearance: blue-gray cat with orange stripes and spots, yellow eyes. Her claws are almost never retracted.
Name: Hookfang
-Sex/Age: female, less than a year old
-Appearance: a brown and orange Maine coon with just a bit of black on the tips of her ears and paws. Almost as big as the other cats despite being a kitten.
Name: Meatlug
-Sex/Age: female, about 6 years old
-Appearance: Pure brown cat with yellow eyes and a stump tail. Fat. The "how do you even move around" fat. How she found enough food to get this fat, no one knows.
Names: Barf and Belch
-Sex/Age: male, about 3 years old
-Appearance: Both have yellow eyes, long tails, and are the most orange cats in the town. They act like it, too.
Name: The Gray Death
-Sex/Age: female, at least 9 years old
-Appearance: dark gray Maine coon with lighter gray highlights around the face, ears, legs, and tail. The largest cat around, both in height and weight. Locals fear it.
