Battat...
Battat...
BATTAT!
Battat woke with a start at his friend's voice, sitting up straight and seeing Pluey and Jongler giving him concerned looks.
"What?! What happened?!"
He yelled back, his voice uncharacteristically shaky.
"I think we should be askin' that, boss.."
Jongler responded, Pluey nodding in agreement. Battat stuttered for a moment before getting out:
"I-I just- I had a nightmare, okay?!"
Jongler raised a brow.
"And sleep-walked out to the Green Room? That's not a normal thing you do, boss."
Battat blinked- looking around, he realized he was in the Green Room... was that even a dream, then?
"Plus, since when did you have nightmares? You've never told us 'bout any, that's for sure."
Jongler added, Pluey nodding in agreement. It was true- Battat didn't have nightmares often. So then what caused this one...?
"I-"
Battat started, trying to find the words.
"I need a moment."
He finished, going into the watercooler room and getting a drink. His chest was heaving, there was a cold sweat on his face- this wasn't normal. None of it was.
He splashed another cup on his face, trying to compose himself. But he couldn't stop panting, and the sweat kept dripping down his face. And when he closed his eyes and tried to breathe, when he opened them again-
It was that same pair of glowing eyes, pink and yellow.
Battat didn't move for a second before throwing his cup at it, but as soon as it would've collided, the room was back to normal.
Then, his breathing evened out and the sweat stopped. He just stared at the spot where the eyes were, only one thought in his head.
What is happening?
