Unexpected fishing day

Summary:

As for context, I made some Naida posts as reference on what she looks like: https://www.tumblr.com/lapis-lazuli404/805631305911058432/november-2025-vs-january-2026-because-i-had-an?source=share and https://x.com/Lazulite404/status/2011062856251556352?s=20

Anyway, Youri went on a fishing day to catch some fish and cook them, but then he realized that he actually caught more than that and interrupted their usual peaceful home.

Notes:

I'm surprised that there is little to no information about this show 'cuz I wanted to dig deeper and find more information about it. Unfortunately, there's little content of it, yet I decided to make that content myself, including yumeship fics

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: How they met

Chapter Text

It is unknown how long Youri was still living on that planet, the Moon. He's stranded, alone, far from planet Earth, with no communication from the others that were on Earth whatsoever; there wasn't someone who could go up there to be his roommate or his rescuer. Although he didn't mind it, likely getting used to it since it was a typical day for him living in this strange, tea-looking, ginormous bronze rocket, being the only human in a slightly deserted planet that had strange creatures and aliens such as the golden-glowing octopus monsters, who mostly tried to kill him as they saw him as a foe. Youri still had plenty of food that was stored before he was launched into space or maybe there was a store on that rocky planet that is nearly abandoned. The space inside his rocket is large enough that it could fit some rooms, such as a bathroom, a living room, and a bedroom, where he sporadically sleeps with his plushies that he often sees as his children.

Today, he was hungry, so he decided to walk to the dimly lit kitchen to get some food. As he opened the fridge, whatever it was, the kitchen was empty, maybe not that empty, as there was a bowl of salad that had stood there for a few days. The buzzing sound of the light decreasing its silence felt like a detail that was added as a cherry on top of a depressing atmosphere. Youri frowned in displeasure, thinking of a solution. Then he got an idea. He remembered that he had a fishing rod. bucket, and a jar of worms stored in the storage room.

He decided to go fishing. But how will he find a pond or some kind of oasis? Well, he'll find out soon enough.

After a while of finding the tools, Youri opened the rocket or spaceship's vault door, went outside, and closed it. He jumped down to the ground, put his fishing gear away, and drove to his car in search of water.

It took some minutes for him to look everywhere, then he glanced at the large, beautiful, crystal-blue pond that shone in the sun, decorated with a bunch of azure lotuses. Two lotuses to be exact.

He drove it there, but not too close, preventing him from crashing into the only oasis that was there, because if he did, then there wouldn't be that oasis anymore, and he would starve. And die of thirst on top of that.

Youri parked the car somewhere, then grabbed his fishing tools, and went to the nearby bench to sit while he was going to catch some fish. The bench was functional and made of metal when he sat on it, though it let out a whining sound of rust. He grabbed the jar of worms and gently picked one of the worms that wiggled before sticking it on a fishing hook. He swung for a moment, letting the string from a fishing rod loosen, then swung back for the fishing hook to drop deep into the water.

He waited, waited, waited while he leaned against the bench, holding the fishing rod, then he sat straight, fixing his posture when the fishing rod moved. Something caught his eye when he moved it and looked at the water; a lotus was moving near the fishing hook. It caught the worm. The astronaut stood slightly to move the fishing rod, gripping it with one hand and moving the handle with the other hand, making sure to get the fish with the lotus out of the water, or so he thought it was a fish. He pushed and pulled, but it looked like it was too stubborn to get out of the water.

So many attempts, trials, and errors, until he finally caught it. He jumped with joy, but when he focused on what he had caught and pulled the fishing rod close to him, he heard a thud as the body hit the dry ground, and the sounds of fabric swooshing as it was pulled from their body, floating on the water. It wasn't a fish. Rather, it was revealed to be a dark teal water alien, or some sort of water nymph with not just one, but two lotuses attached to the sides of their head as it was their hair, and they have gills on the sides of their neck. They were glowing in aqua colors as outlines.

He then realized that the nymph was naked, only covered in transparent droplets from the water. He reacted with him, blushing in embarrassment and covering his eyes with his hands. He turned his head to look away when the nymph slowly sat up and gently pulled the hook from their lip. Then, they hissed in pain, quickly putting their palm on it to stop bleeding. Their blood was indigo and had some tint of red, like two watercolors when spun around the cup of water.

Youri quickly felt guilty for disturbing their peace, running to their car to find something to cover them up. Fortunately, he found a silky red velvet robe that he didn't know he had. He ran up to her and tried to give her that and cover herself up.

The alien nymph's eyes darted to his when she moved her head. Her eyes were rich, molten gold as her stare burned warm and steady, gold threaded with a blur of aquamarine blue close to her iris. She closed her eyes and went back to the oasis, then jumped to the ground once more to wear her strapless dress with lotus petal-like ends before jumping back to the ground. She fixed her posture as she stood up, revealing to be taller than Youri. She was taller than him, but also showed her athleticness as the muscles glistened from the water,

The astronaut's eyes widened, and he felt his cheeks heat up at the sight of her. He shook his head and anxiously apologized, rambling about how he feels perverted to see a woman naked, let alone an alien woman, while he gripped the robe.

The said alien accepted the apology with a nod. They signed that they don't see him as a creep, even when they just met. She straightened the top of her dress and walked slowly to him, and then she signed her name with her hands.

Naida

Youri took time to process that, as he had learned sign language in his younger days. That's her name, Naida. That name felt like honey in his tongue. He smiled and signed his name as well, which made her smile too.

Her smile was sweet like honey, then she asked his intention. Youri explained with his hands that he was looking for a fish to fry.

Naida listened, nodding in understanding. She signed for him to stay for a while before she swam back to the oasis, only to reveal that she found blue marin for him. He was surprised and impressed at the same time as he grabbed the fish from her, thanking her for helping him.

She signed that there are no worries and that he's welcome to go to the oasis at any time.

"Youri never expected to have love at first sight for someone who was born underwater."

Notes:

If Youri the Spaceman has a million fans, then I am one of them.
If Youri the Spaceman has ten fans, then I am one of them.
If Youri the Spaceman has only one fan, then that is me.
If Youri the Spaceman has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth.
If the world is against Youri the Spaceman, then I am against the world.
