As the setting hits back with our two “friends.” We passed by as Rev watched the angel eating her food, she got a burger with a side of fries as for him he got himself a hotdog. She looked very pleased as the wings on her head flapped in joy, representing her gratitude. Rev was eating his hotdog while looking around his surroundings, there were students walking out with food, chatting, laughing, etc. It looked like nobody was paying attention to them so that was a relief.
Sera grabbed a soda and drank it from the straw, her eyes were sparkling, her tongue was tasting the fuzzy bubbles popping in her mouth, the flavor was sizzling.
“This is good.” she said as she stopped sipping, Rev just nodded his head in agreement, she handed over Rev a fry at first he looked confused but he took it and ate it, he wondered how Bella and Mark were doing. Wait, why was he thinking about them right now? He just ignored it and just waited for the angel to finish.
“So.. where do you want to go after this.” he asked, Sera stared with her eyes but then turned her head over to the rides, she was curious about them as she looked around she saw cotton candy, it looked like it matched her well with the combination of pink and blue. Rev was watching her movement, she surely looked curious about everything, it was.. Sightingseeing to see..
Rev felt his chest beating heavily, it was starting to hurt and he placed a hand on it once again. He felt himself squeezing tight, Sera didn’t notice it because she was still staring at the cotton candy but he didn’t want to draw any attention to it, he had to wonder what was going on now, he had to tell her what’s up. How would she react.. This felt like it was coming too soon.. His chest soon stopped when he heard her say, “I’m done, I want to get that after the rides.”
For some reason he looked relieved but that shouldn’t distract him so he got up his seat, “sure we can go for a ride,” he thought in his head, “we don’t even need to let our stomach rest, can she eat a lot more if she wanted too? She’s an angel so..”
“Are you okay?” She checked up on him, the zoned out revenant. He scoffed, “yeah I’m fine, what ride do you want to go on first?”
“I don’t know.”
He slammed his hands on the table, “WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON’T KNOW?! THERE’S A LOT TO CHOOSE FROM YOU KNOW!”
She didn’t flinch but made eye contact with him, “I have never really been out before. Not like this, so I don’t even know what to do or where to go.”
That shut his mouth since he didn’t feel like arguing. It made him think.. he also felt the same way, he shouldn’t be speaking, he’s never gone out a lot, he was always alone at home with Raven, just waiting for his parents to come home from long vacations. He only knew about this place from filers in school, conversations, and computers, he never really had the experience.
Not only that he was aware that Sera has been here the longest, did she ever get the chance to have fun like this?
That’s enough.
Rev looked around the area and saw a lot of rides, he didn’t know what to pick but what caught his eye was a rollercoaster, it looked like it had a lot of loops, sharp turns, there were sounds of students screaming in pure joy or horror. He wondered how no one in the human town could hear those screams, were they really far away? Sera also listened as she stood up from her seat, “I wanna go try it out,” Rev nodded, “Yeah that's for the best.”
Rev got up as Sera was throwing away the trash, at that they started to walk together, beside each other, she looked up at the speed of the ride and looked at the line. It was HUGE.
“Yeah no nevermind.” Rev grumbled but Sera grabbed the back of his collar, “WHAT THE-?! THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?”
“I wanna go on the ride.”
“Well too bad! The line is long, besides, we don’t have to waste our time here and-”
She teleported in front of the line. Which made him shocked a little, he turned his head over as they made eye contact, someone who was cut by them was complaining which made Rev argue back.
Sev watched but she was confused on why they were arguing, was cutting that bad? I mean they did cut the either probably 50 min wait but she wanted to go on it to give it a try. The ride still looked pretty fun. After a lot of arguing it was their turn. Sera walked over and sat down on her seat, Rev realized that he had to sit next to her which made him sigh, there goes that same feeling again, it always comes back to bite him. The food, now sitting close, felt like a lot. He should’ve went to another seat but he didn’t want to make small chit chat with someone else so that’s why his option was to sit down beside her. He sat down and the bars went down as they heard a chunk of metal lock in place.
Sera looked at herself and the bars, “these feel very loose.”
“There not Sera,” in his mind he thought, “they are tight, I can’t get off it if I wanted to.” Rev was waiting to get this over with and he can hear the students telling how fun it was going to be, some sounding nervous, as for him, this felt like child’s play even though he’s never been on one there’s no way the experience could be this scary. He looked over to Sera who was just looking down, kicking her feet. There was a classic announcement to keep their arms in at all times, the safety rules basically, Rev rolled his eyes but he looked at Sera who was waiting patiently before he could say anything, ZOOM!
Rev's heart skipped the beat as he started to scream loud, “OH MY GOSH WHY IS IT SO FAA-” the roller coaster was going too fast he tried to get off but the weight and speed it was hard to, it was pushing him back. As for Sera on the other side, “ahhhh ahhhh” she was screaming in lowercase, he couldn't believe it, as he yelled at the angel, “ANGEL HOW ARE YOU OKAY WITH THISSS?”
Sera looked at him and shrugged but she looked around the view as the ride was going around loops her hair was flowing as she heard Rev screams beside her. He was gripping on and trying to leave but there were loops that kept going, over and over again. She was getting ready to protect him just in case anything happened but the ride was coming to an end.
When they arrived in the end, it was slowly down, leaving Rev's hair a little messy and as for Sera her hair was still intact. The bars came off and Rev jumped off and fixed himself up, as for Sera she walked off and looked at him. He scoffed, “that was nothing, nothing I can handle!”
The angel looked at him as students were walking past, talking about how it was scary, intense, crazy, which gave her an idea, “you were screaming on the top of your lungs.”
“QUIET ANGEL!!”
“It’s true.”
Rev seemed a little embarrassed about it but her neutral expression was making that feeling worse, screaming in front of her like that. She noticed his face but before he could ask he turned his back and walked, “let’s go to another one, it looked like you enjoyed it.” She did. Her expression softened a little as she followed from behind.
After a few rides here and there until we moved onto the games, which caught Sera's attention. There were a lot of prices as she looked at them, “there’s a lot of stuff here,” Rev scoffed at her comment, “these are basic things in the ‘human world’ you can find them anywhere.” Sera nodded and saw a familiar siren spotting them, “oh it’s you two, are you trying to win something for your girlfriend revenant?”
His eye twitched as he yelled in response, “SHUT UP! How many times do I have to say this, she's. not. my. GIRLFRIEND!” Nerissa rolled her eyes at him, “yeah keep telling yourself that, you're definitely going head over heels.”
Rev started to feel more red, this was humiliating. He can’t get just a moment of silence with Sera alone. There were times, yes, but he kept hoping he didn’t have to deal with anyone else. Nerissa looked at the prices with a hand on her hip, “So Sera, do you see anything you want from here?” Sera stared as Rev was listening, there’s nothing that really strikes her interest but if there is something, he’s willing to get it. He doesn’t know why he’s hooked onto that, probably because there is so much she has to know/learn. He never asked to be her teacher but maybe this can make her curiosity go down. After a few more seconds Sera pointed to a small skull skeleton plushie, “that one.” Rev and Nerissa looked at it, Nerrissa cringed at it, “ew you want that?” Rev just stared, “why do you want that?”
“It reminds me of you.”
Rev sorta cringed at that but at the same time his face couldn’t help but blush a little, he looked annoyed at that stupid answer, “I DO NOT! Look like that skeleton! Are you trying to say something here angel!?” Sera shook her head, Nerrissa watched the both of them chatting as Rev was yelling and Sera was responding calmly. The siren sighed, watching but then walked between them, “listen lovebirds, quit your arguing and start hanging out like ‘friends’, beside revenant, I bet your girl is dying to have that prize of hers!”
“I’m not dying.”
“Not literally angel” she snapped but looked at Rev's face to see it looked like he wanted to attack her badly. She flipped her hair and walked off, hoping that she would settle some sort of mode for them.
Rev scoffed as he looked at the angel, “she’s annoying.” Sera nodded in response which made Rev look at the prize, “do you really want that?” the angel bobs her head again so that explains his answer. The revenant looked for someone who was in charge, there was no one so far. He chuckled to himself, oh in less than a minute he can just take it and leave FAST. Sera watched as Rev took a step then popped out a ghost which made Rev scream in shock, “WHAT THE HELL?!” The ghost chuckled, “I’m guessing, you wanna win something hm?”
“Yeah, isn't that what this thing is in front of me for?”
“Oh you're a funny one! So how many rounds are you planning to do?”
“What.”
“Oh you think this is for free?! No no sire! You're gonna play to win.”
Oh this feels like a big amount of bull for Rev, he thought he could just buy and take. He’s gonna win it. It makes sense why there’s so many bottles, bags, plushies, and why Nerissa said prize. He’s heard about this stuff before, “alright then, fine, easy,” he just slammed 5 dollars which the ghost looked trilled, they took the money and passed the rings over to Rev, “rules are simple! Toss the rings and land three rings for a small prize! Toss six for a larger prize!” Rev took them, he looked at what Sera wanted, thank goodness it was a small prize, this shouldn’t be hard.
One toss, nothing, another, nothing, and another, and another, and another. This kept going until he finished his third round, “DAMN IT! THIS IS RIGGED!” he yelled and looked over to Sera, “Come on, we can get you something else.”
“Okayyy..” her tone was low as she looked.. Sad. This clicked something in Rev, like fire, it reminded him about the burger incident. He slammed another five bucks, “One more time,” he handed a ring out to Sera, “you want it? Come and earn it. This is your stupid prize after all.” The ghost looked really entertained as they leaned against the side, watching to see if they could do it. Sera stepped over and grabbed the ring, Rev held onto his, “look you throw the ring like this.” he throws it but he misses as the other rounds, “you have to land it in the bottle, not do what I just did.”
The angel watched carefully and she throwed it, missing completely as it went far away from the bottles, this made Rev shocked but disappointed, “WHAT WAS THAT ANGEL?!” Sera took another ring, “I don’t think I’m good at this stuff,” as she attempted again it landed! “I did it” her voice sounded better which made Rev grinned, “oh yeah watch this!” He took a ring and throwed it which landed too, “HAHA YES!”
“It took you 11 tries.”
“SHUT UP!”
Sera tossed another ring which she missed as Rev laughed at her, Sera wanting to join in, she laughed in lowercase this made him stop, that made her tilt her head a little, “did I do it wrong?”
That head tilt there’s no way his heart is pounding because of it, he felt his heart beat, was it because of that moment they shared just now? Oh hell no, he didn’t want his emotions standing in his way, he shook his head, “no you did it right.”
“Yayyy”
Rev smiled a little but shook it off, “we just need to land one more and we’ll get that thing.” Sera looked determined and threw it which missed completely, Rev looked at his ring, at first he knew it was going to land because why wouldn’t it so he threw it. The ring wobbled around but then it fully went in, “YESSSS!! HAAHAAHAA! I WIN!” Rev yelled, very fond of himself. The ghost watched his victory as they clapped their hands together, “great job! Do you want to keep playing for a bigger prize o-”
“Just give us the damn skeleton.”
“The skeleton?!”
“Yes.”
“Okie dokie!”
The ghost grabbed the skeleton and handed it over to Rev, he snatched it from their hands and gave it to Sera, "here's your damn skeleton." She took it from his hands and stared at it, the skeleton was small but it had angry eyes, black bones, with white fabric, it felt really soft, “thank you” she said. Rev watched her thanked him and seemed to admire the plush on how adorable it was. Sera held onto the plush, “I wanna get that candy now.”
“The cotton candy?”
“Mhm.”
Rev annoyingly sighed but he didn’t seem to mind it for some reason, his heart was still beating but it calmed down a little. He doesn’t know what it means but he started walking, “come on then, let’s get you that cotton candy.” The ghost watched those two leave, they smirked to themselves and lifted up a finger to reveal the ring floating, “they looked like a happy couple,” they mumbled to themselves with a smile. They floated the rings over and placed them back in a box. At that we watched the relevant and the angel watch to get cotton candy they spotted Mark and Bella in the distance as well.. Akuma, Flynn, and Wendy?
