Chapter Text

“Ladies and Gentlemen,—or just men… since we’re all male here but anyways—are you ready for the next question?!” Doing a popular opening of a classic comedian, the red headed idol shoots out the beginning of Moondae’s next doomed moments.

When no one objects (because they are too busy laughing ft. Lee Sejin, too busy silently reassuring a certain puppy ft. Bae Sejin and Seon Ahyeon, or too busy glowering at a certain someone while debating the purpose of life ft. Park Moondae), Eugene starts the second question of the round.

Question two: A man goes out because he is thirsty and has to drink some water. After he finishes drinking, he turns around and sees a robber. The man runs away and hides in the closet. If you were the robber and you had a knife, what would you do?

The question was different this time, and now it was obvious why there weren’t many celebrities or influencers who choose to take this quiz.

Silence

Of course, they would be quiet. No matter how hyperactive and comical some of them are, all of the seven knew that this question should be answered carefully. Testar was not to be faced with scandals of lack of media training especially after the uproar about them being from a survival show that was from the rookie awards.

It was probably a good thing that Eugene told the rest what the activity was before starting. He wasn’t stupid. Most were already prepared for something weird so when Moondae gave out that unhinged answer from last round, it was no wonder they would freak out.

Thankfully it didn’t seem like it cause too much of an online buzz other than a few antis saying he was an attention seeker and whatnot later on sns but it was expected.

"Why are we the thief? Hey! Sejinnie would never be so horrible as to rob someone." Sejin fakes a sad yet cute expression, but thankfully his statement lifted the mood a bit. And besides, he said what they all were thinking.

As idols, even a small moment of being violent or not even being perfect, would result in a chance to be canceled. Yeah no, Moondae isn't risking this at all.

He should choose his words carefully lest it be turned against him.

Raebin seems to give up. Even a genius like him wouldn't know what to do in a scenario like this. He is just a medieval rabbit after all (/j for all the people if the joke flies over your head).

"Get out, of course! Why would we be stealing in the first place! That's against the law, not to mention it's extremely harmful and immoral and we are not that kind of peopl-" A hand stops the maknae from continuing. A bit unexpected and Raebin looks away bashfully as if his soul hadn't almost jumped out of his body when Cheongwoo touched his shoulder.

Sejin hyung clear his throat. Attempting a save, he announces his answer like a news reporter. “A normal robber would either leave or get rid of all witnesses, while a psychopath would probably trick the person then get rid of them.”

Raebin looks at Bae Sejin like he hung the moon with how much shimmer is in them that Moondae is momentarily blinded like how he was when he first saw Ahyeon. What is up with these kids and looking like innocent little lambs.

"Older Sejin-hyung," Moondae doesn't think Sejin looks very happy with that title, "is so smart!" Eugene cackles. A witch in the body of an idol currently Moondae thinks.

"Well, my answer would be that the robber would never pretend to be the house owner and call the cops and say that someone broke into their home and is hiding in the closet! It'll be just like those Am*rican detective riddles where they have to figure out who is the real owner and who is the fake!" Eugene babbles on.

Just Eugene being Eugene.

Is it his turn now? He hopes not.

(Totally necessary flashback)

"Is it gone?" Keun Sejin whispers as his whole body trembles. It was a really really bad idea to team up with these two.

"M-maybe, hyung. You go check. Moondae-hyung and I will stay right here." Both Eugene and Sejin looks like they are on their way to the grave with how pale they both are.

The curtain lifted slowly.

Moondae hadn't even a chance to blink much less react when two screams rippled out from the people on both sides of him.

The ghostly figure was in front of them now, not far away like what Eugene had thought.

It definitely was effective as it scared the living daylights out of the three. Should the actor be given a raise or a restraining order for nearly sending him to the afterlife? Probably both but Moondae doesn’t dwell on it.

“-dae hyung. Moondae hyung! Are you gonna say your answer?”

A whisper. “Raebin, I bet that Moondae hyung would get correct again—Ow!”

Snapping out of it by Eugene calling him several times, Moondae hurriedly says the first thing that comes to mind.

“Uh- probably trick the guy like what hyung said. Ya.” Short and simple. He nearly jumps when a hand starts petting him. He doesn’t mind, but it still startled him. Looking sideways, he spots Sejin-hyung looking quite shy yet continuing to pat his head. Very well. No harm done at least.

Seriously though, why was he so jumpy today? Maybe a gut feeling that something big will happen to his image…

Eugene pouts. “Hyunggggggg, be more specific please.” Almost whiny like a cat asking for a treat before Raebin hits him again.

“Oi! Eugene! Let hyung answer how he wants. Stop bothering him.”

“I’m not bothering him, you are. Stupid Raebin!”

“Wha-why you! Eugene!”

Moondae sighs and pinches his nose bridge.

“Ok, stop fighting-“ They stop as if they weren’t at each other’s throats a moment ago. “Uh, my answer is that a psychopath would make footsteps to make the guy think he is safe and when he gets out of the closet, then the robber would go and kill him.”

He finally looks around at the others and notices that they weren’t saying much, just looking at them. At him.

More importantly.

Why are they looking at me like that?!

They finally got the total tally after asking the rest of the members.

The total tally was this:

Trick person that they are safe then come out and kill them: Moondae, Bae Sejin, Lee Sejin

Wouldn’t rob a person in the first place/no answer: Ahyeon

Get out of the building as fast as possible: Raebin, Chungwoo

Robber pretend to be the owner of the house then calls the cops: Eugene

“The correct answer is—tricking them. Specifically to pretend they are leaving before waiting for the person to come out then kill them. Right on bullseye, Moondae.” Ryu Chungwoo was not helping.

Chungwoo laughs, seemingly enjoying his inner dilemma.

“Look Moondae hyung is right again!” Please don’t mention it. Again. If possible.

"...Hyung, are you cheati-"

"I would never." He cuts in, deadpanning. What an accusation.

Notes:

Guys I’m scared. I posted a angst story of kdj and rgw and now I think I have a perforated eardrum O-O

I js realized that I haven’t written much of Ahyeon and Baese ughhhhhh!! It’s so hard writing introverts in an extrovert environment TT
Ao3 shutdown for one day… I think I got withdrawals… had to resort to WATTPAD

Life hates me, my period started, I have so many things due tomorrow, AND WE’RE AT A POTENTIAL WAR RN—

Jokes aside, Stay safe everyone! (I was so shocked cs I was abt to sleep yesterday and I was doomscrolling when suddenly the us and Israel attacked Iran)

Notes:

Just to clarify. PARK MOONDAE ISNT A PSYCHOPATH. I just thought it would be hilarious to see what happens if a celeb (especially pmd) literally gets all/most of a psychological test correct.

Was this inspired by my classmates and teachers joking that I was a psychopath because I got most of these right since I had dark humor? Maybe.
