Chapter Text
Before they came out as a couple, both of them reached out to those they were especially close to, and those who knew Bakugou was gay, which mostly overlapped.
First was Izuku, where they did a video call together. They wanted his blessing before doing anything drastic. At first, he was understandably surprised, but after they explained the situation and reasons, he understood.
“MY TWO BEST FRIENDS ARE GOING TO GET MARRIED,” Deku squealed. Suffice to say, the two had his blessing.
“Damn, but she never gave me a chance,” Denki sighed, who got a strict reminder from Shinsou that he was actively married.
“Awesome, Bakubro, good to know you’ll have someone by your side. I was getting worried.”
“Agreed,” Mina agreed, who was in the same call.
“I hope you thought this through,” Aizawa said, but had a smile on his face.
“I hope she thought this through,” Mitsuki remarked.
“I pray for Ochako’s sanity,” Jirou said. Momo congratulated them as she did her hair in the background.
As they each called and/or texted people, slowly going down the list of people Bakugou had come out to, and those important to Ochako. Reaching the last one, Ochako finally called her parents. They were incredibly happy and supportive.
Once they were done, they looked at each other,
“Are you ready for the worst part?” Ochako said,
“Hell no,” Bakugou replied as he hit the post of a picture of Ochako and him holding hands, having tagged Ochako, who hearted and reposted it. With that, they soft-launched their relationship, a term Ochako had taught him. And soon, the notifications from people and coworkers came flooding in.
And a little later, their respective managers posted confirmation on their official accounts.

“Thank you, Uravity and Dynamite, for joining us for this exclusive interview,” the interviewer began as the cameras started recording.
“Of course, we are happy to be here,” Ochako said, smiling at the man on the opposite side of the couch.
“Debatable,” Bakugou mumbled, who then got a small pinch from Ochako. Which caused Bakugou to roll his eyes.
“So, Dynamite, Uravity was married to your childhood best friend until recently. When did you realize you liked her?”
Bakugou looked over at Ochako, then began their planned lie. “Ochako and I have been friends much longer than I’ve liked her romantically.” Ochako and Bakugou tried not to show the cringe on their faces. “Uravity and Deku had separated about a year before they officially got a divorce. Ochako and I met up regularly to chat as friends.” Which wasn’t a lie, “But after they separated, and we started to hang out a lot more. I think after they had been separated for 5 months, that was when I started to catch feelings. But of course, she wasn’t even divorced yet, and I mean, she’s Izuku’s ex-wife.”
The interviewer nodded, “What made you fall in love with her?” Bakugou looked over to Ochako, and she bit her lip, holding back a laugh.
He smiled, “Ochako is a free spirit and stands by what she believes in. She’s strong in battle and kind, among other things. She cares about her friends, and she doesn’t let others get in the way of what she wants.” Bakugou spoke from the heart; it was true. These qualities were the things he admired and loved about her, just not in the way the people here think. Ochako smiled.
“That is quite sweet, not something we expected out of you, Dynamite,” the interviewer remarked, suppressing the look of surprise on his face.
“He acts tough, but he’s really just a fluffy pomeranian.” She smiled, and Bakugou held back on blowing her up, settling with a glare that said fuck you.
The interviewer laughed nervously, while the people behind the camera gave looks to each other with a form of the message ‘is she alright in the head’.
“Well, what about you, Uravity?”
Bakugou glanced at Ochako with a cheeky grin, as if he was saying, ‘yeah, Ochako. What about you?’
Ochako ignored Bakugou's gaze. “Well, as Katsuki said, we were good friends before anything else. And he helped me through my divorce; we had been sparring partners in high school, and he was one of the first to acknowledge me for my strength. We hung out more, and he was there to listen, and he is someone whom I trusted with things I wouldn’t tell even my parents.” Ochako’s face dropped a little at that, and Bakugou squeezed her hand in comfort. Though it had been years, seeing Himiko die, sacrificing herself for Ochako, still stuck with her, like a scar she never wanted to disappear. She smiled to reassure him that she was okay. “Katsuki, for all the swearing and anger he shows, has always been patient and caring. He just shows it differently; he does it by cooking for you when you're sick. By, though begrudgingly, helping with your homework or studying. He does it by giving you the harsh truth, not sugar coating it to protect your feelings. He isn’t gentle, nor does he show respect to those he doesn’t feel earn it. But he does love his friends, even if he doesn’t say it. He always does his best and never stops working hard. He sticks by his beliefs, and though he doesn’t like being proven wrong, he also will take responsibility. That’s what drew him to me, and, after the divorce was done, we got together 2 months later.”
And that’s how Ochako and Katsuki started their wild adventures of a relationship and marriage, from the media to kids. The story of how two unlikely friends became partners in a lavender marriage.
