Chapter Text
Shelby wrote down a few more sentences, talking about healing and coming together. How the journey of forgiveness was a hard one but a worthy one, especially today as it showed the fruits of her labors. The reunion.
"Finishing touches before we leave?" Drift asks, entering the writing room where Shelby was working at the desk.
"Yes! I want to tell the others that it's done!"
"They're going to be so proud," Drift smiles, placing a kiss atop Shelby's head. "Scott and Avid would be too."
Shelby would have used to tear up at their names, but now she smiled up at Drift.
Thank you Abolish's contacts for getting them a good vampire therapist.
"You really think so?"
"I know so. Now, come on, let's eat before we fly."
"Coming! I just need to come up with one last thing."
She bit at one of her sharpened nails, trying to think who could she possibly pick out of all the wonderful people she met.
"Ah," she breathed and began writing away again, then copying it down on her computer. "Finished! I'll give it to the editors when we get back!"
She stood up then, leaving the original book open on the dedication page.
A thank you to Oakhurst for helping me find my family - though there were ups and downs, betrayals and losses, I can proudly say I love each and everyone I met that fateful day. This book is dedicated to all of you, you know who you are.
And a very special thanks to Scott and Avid for helping me see what I truly was, I miss you both dearly.
