Chapter Text

Yeah, okay. It was Jason. He was currently towering over Tim like a fucking tree and he was making a weird face, as if he was the victim of whatever Jason just threw at him. Tim glowered and looked down at what held him down.

Oh.

It was his weighted blanket.

Tim slowly lowered himself from the half-upright position he had rushed into, adjusting his blanket as he went. That little stunt sent his head spinning all over again, so he chose to cover his eyes with an arm instead of continuing his glare. If Jason wants something, he'll make it known.

"Concussion?" Jason asked bluntly, at a volume that would probably be painful had Tim really been concussed.

"No," Tim said eloquently.

"Sick?"

"No."

While Tim couldn't see Jason at the moment, he could imagine the frown his brother was giving. Jason leaned down near Tim's head and felt for a fever anyway.

"I said no," Tim grumbled, slapping away Jason's hand with his own free hand.

"Can't blame me for not believing you," Jason argued. Fair enough. With that out of the way, Tim felt Jason's socked foot prod him in the side as Jason gently kicked him. "The fuck is wrong with you, then?" he asked, sounding annoyed. Tim knew better than to believe so. He kept quiet for a moment to come up with an answer. He did internally promise that he would answer honestly if anyone asked.

"Dizzy," Tim mumbled. He didn't say he'd give up the whole truth, alright? If Jason left it at that, he didn't need to know Tim's reasoning. Jason just hummed briefly in acknowledgement before retracting his foot. Tim wouldn't admit it, but the prodding did kind of hurt. Assuming the conversation was over, Tim very slowly went back to his side and pulled his weighted blanket over his head to completely bury himself. The others always complained that Tim would suffocate in there one day, but Tim actually found it quite comfortable. It was like his own warm little cave. Besides, he liked the feeling of being completely encased. It felt safe. Tim could hear Jason scoff.

Tim assumed Jason would leave again after that, but he was proven wrong when he heard the couch depress with weight. Tim was content laying there, listening to the occasional turn of a page. Despite his current predicament, he found himself drifting peacefully to sleep.
