Chapter Text

Izuku has always liked Kacchan. He's had the hugest crush since they were kids. Sometimes he even thought that the feelings were mutual. When they were alone, they got along relatively fine, but the second they were around other people, he would start acting like the biggest jerk. Izuku could no longer accept this.

First things first, he needed to confirm if Kacchan cared about him or even better liked him, then he could figure everything else out from there.

The break was starting the next day. Originally, he didn't plan to go home because his mom was out of town, but Kacchan had no plans to return home either.

This was something he had been thinking over for quite a while, and now was the perfect opportunity. He had been unable to attempt it due to their dorm situation, but since his mom wouldn't be home, this was his chance.

A few weeks ago, he was online desperately searching for 'how to know if someone likes you?' The most common result was 'faking an injury.' He found that people have done all sorts of pranks, many of which failed mainly because they were too unrealistic. He knew if he did it, it would work without a doubt because he was willing to commit fully. Now it was time to put his plan in motion.

"It's fine, you can do this," Izuku peeked his head around the corner to see that Katsuki was walking alone.

He took a deep breath and put on the biggest smile he could muster. "Kacchan", he ran over and quickly closed the distance.

He turned his head slowly and in a low voice growled, "What do ya want, nerd?"

That had stopped him in his tracks. He wasn't sure what he was expecting, but it caught him off guard nonetheless. He began fidgeting with his fingers and let out a nervous chuckle. "Umm, so break starts tomorrow, and well I know you weren't planning on going anywhere, but my mom isn't going to be home cause she's traveling right now, so I have the house all to myself, so I was thinking maybe you could stay at my place over break, and it could be really fun and yeah".

He bit his lip, realizing that he had just rambled like an idiot. He looked up, shocked. He was still there. He tried to decipher what he was thinking, but just couldn't tell.

"Why"

"W-What?" his voice came out quiet and unsure.

"Why should I hang out with a loser like you?"

He gulped, "I mean, you don't have to.... I just thought since neither of us has plans, it would be better than nothing..." he cringed at how small he sounded 'What was I thinking? This was a bad idea.'

His breathing began to pick up, getting louder, and Katsuki took notice of it, unsure what to do, let out a huff, and rolled his eyes. "Fine, I'll pack tonight, seeing as ya gave hardly any time. As he started to walk past him, he stopped and looked over his shoulder. "Oh, and this goes without saying, Deku, if you tell anyone about this, I'll kill you."

Izuki walked back to his room in a daze. A few people tried to say hello, but none of it even registered. The weight of everything was finally starting to sink in.

"Oh my god, he actually agreed I need to prepare." He scrambled around the room, grabbing a few things here and there because he still had many clothes at home.

While continuing to pack, he came across a mini camera that he used for one of his projects not that long ago. 'Nice, this might come in handy,' he thought to himself.

Time seemed to fly by, and before he knew it, it was dark outside and time for bed. That night, he went to sleep with a smile on his face, knowing that tomorrow he would get to take Kacchan home.

He awoke to the bright light that forced its way through the window and the sound of the alarm he had set promptly for 7am. Quickly hopping out of bed, he readied himself for the day.

Finishing up slightly after 8, he headed for the door, making sure not to forget the bag he had packed only the night before.

Deciding to wait for Katsuki in the common area, which was significantly emptier than usual, he chose to fill the time by going over the plan he had been creating in his head.

It had taken him longer than expected to settle on the injury he was going to fake. That being said, it needs to be serious enough that it can't be brushed off, but not deadly.

'Drowning' was the first thing that came to mind, but not what you might be thinking. No pools or oceans needed, just a bathtub. Most people who tried this failed. First off, drowning in the bath already sounds stupid, but add being fully clothed on top, and it's bound to fail.

Using the word fake may not be the best way to describe what he was going to do. It would most certainly be real, just planned.

"Oi, Deku." His head snapped up quickly to see Katsuki standing over him.

A small gasp left his lips, "Oh, hi Kacchan, ready to go."

"Obviously, or I wouldn't be here."

A small blush crept onto his face. "Right of course, let's get going then."

They had quickly arrived at their destination. The train ride had gone by much faster than he expected.

Slowly entering the small apartment, which consisted of two bedrooms and one bathroom.

He announced, "Welcome to my humble abode. You'll be staying in my room, and you can take the bed. The bathroom is to the left at the end of the hall, and the kitchen's to the right. I need to get groceries, so let me know if there's anything in particular that you want."

"If I'm staying in your room, where will you sleep?"

"Oh, I'll be taking the couch," he said, smiling. Was he worried about me?' Katsuki began settling in, unpacking his neatly folded clothes, meanwhile Izuki was putting freshly washed sheets on the bed.

Satisfied with his work, his mind wandered back to the reason they came there in the first place. 'I only have a week to carry out my plan, but I need to do it soon so I don't have to take off from school to recover!'

Oftentimes, people record and upload their so-called pranks online, then end each video by confessing that it was fake. However, Izuku had no intentions of admitting to anything. Though making a recording was an option, before leaving his dorm room, he grabbed an extremely small camera. It would be very useful so he can watch Katsuki's reaction later, since he'll likely be unconscious and unable to see it.

Realizing he had been just standing there, he decided to head to the store. He made sure to get a few things he thought Katsuki might like and quickly filled the rest of the cart with just enough food to last both of them.

Entering the apartment for the second time that day, he removed his shoes and started putting the food away.

The door to his room opened, and Katsuki emerged, approaching him. "Hey, why didn't you tell me you were going to the store?" he asked loudly with a frown that looked permanently engraved on his face.

"Well, I thought you already knew cause I mentioned it earlier. Sorry, Kacchan, I didn't know you wanted to come," he tried calming the possible situation.

He scoffed, "Who said anything about me wanting to come?"

"Well, I was just about to put everything away. Are you hungry? I can make something."

"Whatever ya do, make it quick, cause it's getting late."

"Sure thing."

They had finished eating, and Izuki had already washed the dishes, so he started laying out some blankets and pillows on the couch.

Making his way to the bathroom to change into his pajamas, he first thought to begin his plans, so he knocked on the door to the room. "K-kacchan?" He started getting nervous, but there was no backing out now. "What do ya want?"

"I just wanted to let you know that tomorrow morning I'll be taking a bath in case you were planning to do the same."

"Yeah, whatever, get out. I'm going to bed." Giving a curt nod, he shut the door and continued to the bathroom.

After changing, he lay down on the couch. It was a bit earlier than he normally went to bed, but knowing what was in store for tomorrow, he needed as much energy as possible.
