Chapter Text

As soon as his vision cleared after entering the end portal to spawn, Wemmbu had no idea where to go. First of all, he would have to get out of spawn before a wither killed him. But after that?

After getting away from spawn, Wemmbu wandered around for a while thinking on where to go. Then, a thought came to mind. If he wanted to stay invisible, he would need to get a lot of invisibility potions. But the last time he went to a potion shop... Nevermind.

Maybe he could go to Merchant City and trade for potion materials. And if nobody there has potion materials, then he would have to go to the nether. Surely ClownPierce, the ruler of the nether, would not have a problem with a customer who simply wants to trade for potion materials, right?

For as long as Wemmbu could find someone who sold potion materials outside of the nether, he would not have to worry about Clown. And so, he began to make his way to Merchant City.

>>>

At the entrance of Merchant City, Wemmbu found Flame arguing with the guard to let him in. As Wemmbu approached the entrance, he waited for Flame to stop talking. Once he stopped, Wemmbu finally spoke up.

"May I be let in?" Asked the invisible player, with such a demeanor that immediately made the guard reply kindly. Flame was shocked to see an invisible player next to him. He hadn't even heard the player's approach.

"Hey, sorry, I would let you in, but I have a feeling if I opened the gate, this guy would come in." The guard continued to stare meanly towards Flame after replying.

"Could I maybe wind charge over?"

"Sure, and I'll just continue to make sure this criminal doesn't get in." The guard allowed the invisible player to wind charge over the wall. The invisible player thanked him and turned back towards Flame. Each time Flame tried to do the same, he was wind charged back by the guard.

"How come they get to be let in?! They're literally invisible with a voice changer," argued Flame. "Don't you think they could also be a criminal?!"

"A criminal would not be that nice," replied the guard. The logic was honestly weird, but Wemmbu was just glad to have been let through.

Wemmbu hopped down from the wall and began asking around for anyone who sells potion materials. He really hoped to find someone, for he did not want to risk fighting ClownPierce. If Wemmbu were to fight Clown in Clown's domain, Wemmbu would probably meet his demise.

>>>

Nobody sold potion materials. All of the potion sellers had run out of potion materials. After finding that out, Wemmbu began to make his way to the nether portal. He could probably wait for the next shipment, but Wemmbu was getting desperate, for he was running low on invisibility potions. Not that he had many to begin with.

With an ender pearl in hand, Wemmbu sprinted towards the portal and made an attempt to avoid the guards. He managed to throw his ender pearl through the portal, allowing him a quick entry to the nether. As soon as he was through, he ran away from the portal and began looking for Clown.

>>>

Clown's guards ended up capturing the invisible player. Though, he decided it was better to not resist. They were taking him to Clown anyway, so he took it as an advantage.

"And who do we have here?" Asked Clown as the invisible player was brought in by a few guards.

"My name is Azaleo, and I want to trade with you," replied the invisible player. He sounded calm, and the fact he was able to reply made him brave. Most people are afraid of Clown, yet this one seems to not be.

"Oh? You want to trade with me directly? Why not wait for a shipment?"

"I really need potion materials."

"Let me guess, you desperately need invisibility potions, don't you?" Clown paused briefly and chuckled. "Now, what if I refused? Would your identity be revealed to me?"

"Listen, can you give them to me or not?" Azaleo sounded bold. He sounded like he was going to initiate a challenge for the throne.

"Alright, fine," replied Clown. He almost sounded disappointed after hearing he could not scare his customer. "What can you offer me?"

"I have netherite armour."

For a moment, Clown silently stared at the invisible player. "You do realise I can get a lot of that right?"

"Oh. Right." Azaleo had forgotten that, as the king of the nether, Clown basically owned all of the netherite. "Is there anything you want that I might have?"

Clown thought for a moment. Then, he had an interesting idea. "How good are you at pvp?"

"Not that bad," Azaleo had been trained by MinuteTech recently, and he was pretty good even before.

"Perhaps we can form an allyship..."

>>>

The deal was quite simple. For potions of invisibility, Azaleo would offer his fighting skills in the event of a big battle. It was not common for big battles to occur, but in the case it did, Clown wanted to decimate his enemies. This meant getting powerful players on his side.

The two briefly dueled, and Clown decided Azaleo was decent enough. Azaleo then left the nether with an allyship he had never anticipated. It was a good one though. It allowed him to obtain as many invisible potions as he needed. He still needed to pay a small fee of five diamonds though.

Azaleo left Merchant City, and was about to think on where to go next, when suddenly Flame jumped right in front of him and said, "Yo, I want to talk to you."

"And why do you want to talk to me?" Asked Azaleo, wondering why Flame of all people would want to talk to him. He almost thought Flame had caught him again.

"Because you might have some information on someone," replied Flame. "Do you know anything about Wemmbu?"

The question made Azaleo's heart skip a beat. "I mean, I've heard of him."

"What have you heard about him?" Flame, through his blindfold, stared deeply at the invisible player, observing anything that could say 'this might be Wemmbu.'

"The last time I heard something about him was when he was revealed to be the invisible knight." Azaleo replied nervously and began to back away.

"Nothing else? Nothing about where he was last seen after that?"

"N-No?" Azaleo began to stutter. He did not know how to answer, and he was afraid Flame would catch on with his identity again.

As he was trying to back away, Flame kept trying to keep their distance constant. Then, Azaleo decided to shift into his cat form and run past Flame. Flame briefly stood still in shock, but then immediately ran after the cat.

"Hey! Get back here!" Yelled Flame at the running cat. "You know something, don't you!"

While running, Azaleo thought of why Flame could have been looking for Wemmbu. It was not a rematch, so why? He would have to think about it later. Right now, he had to think about losing Flame from his track.

>>>

The two were still running. It had been about 30 minutes of them running. Both of them were a lot slower than earlier, yet they still persisted. Azaleo had been trying to look for a crowd to lose Flame in, but for some reason, he had not been able to find a single person, and he could not lose Flame in any terrain, no matter how hard he tried.

Finally, Azaleo gave up. He stopped running and shifted back to his normal, invisible self. "I give up! Just please don't kill me!"

Flame also stopped. He was panting hard, but he managed to argue back. "Wha— I don't want to kill you! I just want to know about Wemmbu!"

"I don't know anything! I just heard some rumours of him going missing, but I know nothing about it!"

"And where did you hear these rumours?"

"I overheard it in Merchant City. I wasn't really paying attention to the username though.” Technically, Azaleo was telling the truth. While wandering around, looking for someone who sold potion materials, he overheard a short conversation about the criminals on the server. In it, he heard 'Wemmbu is apparently missing.'

Azaleo did not think much of it at first, but thinking about it now, people might get suspicious of Wemmbu's whereabouts. Worst of all, similarly to when Wemmbu 'died' and the invisible knight suddenly appeared, Wemmbu had gone missing and Azaleo suddenly appeared. Suspicions to Wemmbu's whereabouts might lead to him being exposed again—

"Wemmbu?"

"Huh."

"So you are Wemmbu."

"What? No. I'm just confused as to why you're calling out his name."

Flame can admit to that being a good lie, but he knew Wemmbu could turn into a cat, and suddenly, an invisible player who can turn into a cat appears. Now, it could literally just be a coincidence, but chances are, that's Wemmbu. "Alright, if you're really not Wemmbu, then how about we team together to figure out where he went?"

If Azaleo accepted, Flame could gather more evidence of the invisible player being Wemmbu. Or, if Azaleo truly is not Wemmbu, then his help could possibly make finding Wemmbu faster. It was a win-win for Flame, for as long as Azaleo accepted.

"Sure. I mean, I myself am quite curious as to where he could have gone."

And with that, Azaleo formed another allyship. This one though, was much weirder than the first. Working with Flame was already weird, but working with Flame to find himself? It's a type of weird that would be hard to believe, yet it was happening right now.

Azaleo would really need to update his friends from the end on the weird situations he's getting himself in.

The two decided to speak for a while about theories and possible evidences to Wemmbu's whereabouts. They then decided to make a trip to the end, where Wemmbu's best friend, Eggchan, is located. Flame hoped to get answers or clues about where his rival could have gone.

Notes:

Azaleo's armour design and voice are technically up to interpretation. Also, his cat form is also invisible, so Flame cannot see that he's a white cat with purple eyes.

I'm pretty sure this would have been uploaded earlier had I not been writing what is now going to be chapter 7. My brain also kept bothering me about the future, and, until I wrote it, it would not let me write the present.

Notes:

This fanfic will not have a fixed schedule, so don't expect the next chapter within a specific amount of time.

Also, if anyone has any questions about the au in the comments, I can try my best to answer them.
