Chapter Text

Soundwave isn’t sure how he got into this position, but he isn’t complaining. His face is nestled in the crook of Starscream’s neck, he’s got an arm and a leg wrapped around Starscream and Starscream’s frame is pleasantly warm. He remembers sleeping with his back to Starscream, but he must have rolled over while in recharge. Soundwave wouldn’t mind waking up like this every day.

He can’t deny it now. He likes Starscream.

The seeker occupies his processor like no other. He cares about Starscream and Soundwave has the feeling that Starscream cares about him too. Over the course of a scheme, Soundwave has unexpectedly grown attached to Starscream.

As much as Soundwave wants to be at Starscream’s side, there’s still one thing that bothers him.

Starscream’s real plan with the embershards.

Unfortunately, despite their growing relationship, Starscream still hasn’t given any indication as to what he plans to do with the embershards. Even when drunk on engex, he didn’t spill any clues. (albeit, Soundwave wasn’t really focused on discovering Starscream’s plan and was much more interested in getting Starscream close instead.) Soundwave has grown to trust Starscream, but he still has his doubts when it comes to Starscream’s greater ambitions.

Starscream wouldn’t betray him, he’s sure of it; but knowing Starscream’s history of failed plots and self-sabotaging, there’s no way to predict how destructive his plans are.

He concludes he needs to find out what Starscream’s plans are, before he tries to turn their fake relationship into a real one. Soundwave carefully unwraps himself from Starscream, trying not to wake him. He kisses Starscream’s cheek before leaving.

-

Soundwave enters his habsuite, hoping to find one of his cassettes awake.

“Hey, Soundwave where are you goin’?” Laserbeak greets, rousing from recharge. The other cassettes were still deep in recharge, sleeping on top of each other in a messy pile.

“Depends. You and Frenzy spied on Starscream, right?” Soundwave asks. Starscream had been fuming with rage when he realised the cassettes had been spying and sabotaging him. “What did you learn?”

Laserbeak stretches and ruffles his plating, “nothin’ much. His daily routine was just hanging out with you. But we did tail him once to the farm where the Terrans are, but I’m pretty sure he went straight back to the base afterwards.”

The Terrans. Soundwave wasn’t aware Starscream had any business with them. What could Starscream possibly need the Terrans for? “Did you find out what he was doing with the Terrans?”

“It was just the purple one. She says they’re friends and they watch rom-coms together or somethin’. Are you spyin’ on Starscream?” Laserbeak suddenly perks up, causing the surrounding cassettes to stir.

“Something like that. I’m trying to figure out what he plans to do with the embershards, did you want to join?” Soundwave asks.

Laserbeak flutters his wings and perches on Soundwave’s pauldron, “yup!” He seems a bit too eager to spy on Starscream.

They fly side by side to the farm, Laserbeak happily doing loops besides him. They land on the outskirts of the farm, scanning over the empty farm. They wander around, trying to find a Terran until one emerges from the barn.

He looked less than pleased to see them.

“Hashtag, there are ‘cons outside and I’m assuming they’re here for you!” Thrash yells into the barn before transforming and driving away. He left the barn doors slightly ajar.

Soundwave and Laserbeak enter the barn, finding no one inside. The barn seemed normal, aside from the large hatch in the middle.

“How many Decepticons are coming here?” Soundwave inspects the hatch. As far as he can tell, the hatch is open and has no security measures in place. The Terrans should really improve their home security.

Laserbeak pecks at the hatch, trying to pry it open. “As far as I know just Starscream and Megatron. ‘Cept Megatron doesn’t count ‘cause he’s a traitor.”

Soundwave figures out how to open the hatch, and they enter the underground base. Hashtag was busily looking at human jewellery on a computer, yelping when she notices Soundwave and Laserbeak standing behind her.

She flails, trying to cover her computer screen. “How did you guys get in here?!”

Soundwave and Laserbeak share a look. “Your sibling left the door open.”

“Darn it, Thrash. Anyways, what are you two doing here?” Hashtag’s optics flicker between the two of them but avoiding optic contact with Soundwave. She seemed a little intimidated by him.

“I just wanted to know what Starscream was doing here. I’ve heard he’s been friendly with you,” Soundwave calmly asks while Hashtag still poorly covers her computer screen. With a closer look, Soundwave spots that she was looking at rings. Why would she go out of her way to hide something as mundane as rings?

Hashtag tilts her helm. “…Didn’t Laserbeak tell you? He just comes over and we talk and then we watch rom-coms or something like the Barbie movies. Surprisingly, he really likes the Princess and the Pauper, and I think he really resonates with Preminger, which makes sense because they’re kinda similar in a way-”

Laserbeak rolls his optics and cuts in. “What do you know about Screamer and the embershards?”

“The embershards? The only time he’s ever mentioned the embershards is when he talks about him going out to collect them,” Hashtag explains, squinting at them confused. She hadn’t expected them to ask about the embershards, and she definitely has no clue what Starscream is planning. Though, Starscream wouldn’t go to great lengths to foster a relationship with her if she weren’t helpful in any degree. How did they meet anyway?

“How did you meet Starscream?” Soundwave questions. He wracks his various memory files, trying to think of an opportunity where Starscream would’ve met Hashtag. Soundwave really hated Starscream’s habit of withholding information from him. (Sure, he rants at length about a single statue but doesn’t tell him about his visits to Hashtag.)

“I think it was when some of the Decepticons broke out of jail. We all ended up in the same cave system, but there was a dweller in the caves! It kept trying to suck the energon out of the seekers and I had to use the doors in the caves to trap it. Starscream and I lead the dweller into a big pool of cave water, and the cave water poisoned it. It died,” Hashtag elaborates. “Am I being interrogated?”

Soundwave was aware of the caves under Witwicky, but he wasn’t aware of the doors. Doors that this Terran can control. The fact there were doors struck Soundwave as odd. (and the presence of a dweller was incredibly suspicious.) He concludes whatever Starscream is planning has to do with whatever is under Witwicky. “No. Do you have any maps of the caves?”

Hashtag frowns, “it feels like I’m being interrogated. Is Starscream up to something?” She seems disappointed at the way the conversation has gone.

“He hasn’t done anything yet. But I need to figure out what he’s planning to do,” Soundwave pleads. Hashtag takes a moment to consider before going back behind the computer and pulling up several maps of the cave system under Witwicky. The caves seem to lead to one central location and twists in ways unlike other caves on the planet. If anything, the patterns of the caves resemble… Cybertronian circuitry. “Aside from the doors and the dweller, was there anything unnatural about these caves?”

Hashtag leans back against the computer while in thought. “They were really alien looking, there were like… metal cables running through them and they’d glow green whenever I’d touch them. Really weird caves.”

Soundwave thinks back to what he knows are involved in Starscream’s secret plan: the embershards, the unwitting Terran, and the caves. Starscream was planning on getting Hashtag to navigate the caves for him. The caves mimic Cybertronian biology. He knew the Emberstone was an artifact of Quintus Prime and had been used to create the Terrans. Something clicks in Soundwave’s processor.

It wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for the Emberstone to have been used prior to being discovered on Earth. It is entirely possible that the cave system under Witwicky was part of a titan created from the Emberstone a long time ago. There’s a titan lying under Witwicky and Starscream intends to use the Emberstone to control it.

“I see. Thanks for the help,” Soundwave begins to leave, Laserbeak slowly trailing behind.

“Wait,” Hashtag calls out.

Soundwave turns back. He’s possibly ruined any rapport Starscream had with her. He’ll have to apologise for that later.

Hashtag asks, “was Starscream just hanging out with me to like.. use me for whatever he’s planning?”

Soundwave tries his best to break it to her gently. “I imagine in the beginning he was. Speaking from experience, he’s probably grown to care for you. He hates romantic comedies and wouldn’t voluntarily put himself through one if he didn’t like spending time with you.” If Starscream was regularly watching human romantic comedies with Hashtag, he was definitely doing it for her sake.

“Really?” Hashtag perks up, spirits slightly lifted.

“Yes, really.” Soundwave leaves with Laserbeak perched on his pauldron. He’ll have to have a long talk with Starscream about his plan.

-

Starscream knocks on Soundwave’s door, hoping to talk with Soundwave. His cassette greets him instead. “Where’s Soundwave?”

Frenzy glares at him, grimacing at the sight of Starscream. “I don’t know. He was with you last night, wasn’t he?” She scans over his frame for paint transfers and scuffs. She’s only slightly relieved when she finds none.

“He was, but when I woke up, he was gone. I can’t find him on base,” Starscream leans against the doorframe. Frenzy seems incredibly displeased to see him.

Frenzy points at him, “what are your intentions with Soundwave?”

“If I tell you, will you tell me where he is?” Starscream negotiates. He forgets how fiercely protective Soundwave’s cassettes are. Frenzy is still glaring at him but slowly nods. “I’m going to fake marry your father.” (and possibly get with Soundwave in an actual relationship if all goes well, but Starscream omits that detail.)

Frenzy tries to puff her chassis and gets in Starscream’s personal space, “is that all you’re going to do, Screamer? Are you sure you’re not fiending for anything more?”

It appears Starscream’s feelings had been more obvious than he thought. “I don’t intend to do anything that Soundwave doesn’t want to do.” He expects Frenzy to blow up at him.

Frenzy looks him up and down, “you better stick by that, Screamer. Believe me, if you hurt Soundwave in any way whatsoever, we are going to do way worse than frag up your paintjob.”

“…are you telling me to pursue your father?” Starscream asks, confused at the somewhat mixed messages Frenzy has been sending. He was sure Frenzy was going to tell him to keep his distance.

Frenzy groans, “ugh, yes, Starscream. You aren’t that bad and Soundwave seems to like you.” Starscream has somehow gotten at least one of the cassettes’ seal of approval.

“Alright, where’s Soundwave?”

Frenzy smiles, “I have no clue.”

Starscream flares his wings, “then why didn’t you say so earlier?!” Starscream also forgot the cassettes were also brats.

Frenzy snickers, “because I still like inconveniencing you. He probably went out because Laserbeak’s gone too.”

Starscream decides to wait for Soundwave to come back, ruminating on the best way to approach Soundwave.

-

Soundwave and Laserbeak return from the Malto farm, finding Starscream waiting with a cube of energon in the base hangar.

Starscream kisses Soundwave’s crest, “have a nice flight, dear?”

Soundwave retracts his mask and plants a chaste kiss on Starscream’s lips. Laserbeak can’t stop himself from loudly gagging, quickly leaving to avoid watching more public displays of affection.

“It was fine,” Soundwave takes the cube. “Ready for our embershard collection? It’s a long flight.” They had to go collect an embershard from Las Vegas. After the collection, Soundwave was planning on talking to Starscream about both of his plans.

“I should be asking you that. Wherever did you fly off to?” Starscream questions. “I wouldn’t want you to get too tired and have to lug your heavy aft across the continent.”

“I’m not that heavy. I went on a short flight with Laserbeak to get some air,” Soundwave finishes the last of his cube. “So, unless there’s anything else, we should get going.” Soundwave grabs Starscream’s servo and leads him out of the hangar, taking off together.

-

After a long day of searching in deserts of Las Vegas, they find the embershard half-buried in sand. The longer they spent searching, the more nervous Soundwave got about Starscream’s reaction.

Starscream didn’t like being caught off-guard, and who knows how he’d feel about Soundwave going behind his back to find out what his grand scheme is. But he needs to do it, especially if he was going to stay by Starscream’s side as his Second-In-Command and his partner.

Starscream stretches his wings and places the embershard inside his cockpit, almost ready to transform to fly back to Witwicky. (Thought it does seem like he’s hesitating to leave, as if he has something on his mind too.)

Soundwave decides to get it over with. “We need to talk.”

Starscream’s wings fall, energon draining from his face. “About what?”

“I know about your plans,” Soundwave retracts his visor and mask. Starscream avoids making direct optic contact with him.

Starscream clears his vocaliser, unable to shake the slight shaky tone to his voice, “which one?”

“I know about the titan under Witwicky. I know you want to use the embershards to reform the Emberstone so you can control the titan with it.” Soundwave explains, watching Starscream relax.

“So, you figured it out all on your own. I should’ve known you’d put those skills of yours to good use and uncover my plan. I was planning on telling you soon, but you’ve always been the impatient type,” Starscream teases. “So, what do you think?”

“It’s a decent plan but misguided,” Soundwave admits. Had it been another time, this plan might have assured Decepticon victory during the war.

Starscream quirks a brow ridge, “Misguided, how?”

“You intend to use the titan to fight the Autobots, don’t you? Restarting the conflict between our factions isn’t ideal considering we’ve been coexisting with them for the past year, not to mention we alone do not have the resources to sustain another conflict. Let alone fuel a titan. You’d be undoing all of your work negotiating and fostering relations with the Autobots by awakening the titan.”

Starscream crosses his arms, “what would you suggest? Living on Earth permanently with the Autobots in total control? They still primarily control sources of energon on this planet.”

“We go back to Cybertron,” Soundwave suggests.

Starscream splutters, “how do you suppose we go back to Cybertron?”

Soundwave had spent most of his day thinking about his proposal, “there’s a spacebridge in the middle of Witwicky. We fly past it almost every day.” It had always been ridiculous to Soundwave that no one even thought about repairing the spacebridge to go back to Cybertron. The Autobots really had skewed priorities.

“That thing doesn’t work and even if we could repair it by ourselves, we don’t know if there’s a Cybertron to return to,” Starscream retorts, wings twitching.

“Which is why we’ll suggest building a communications array to the Autobots to reestablish contact with Cybertron. If Cybertron still stands, then we’ll repair the space bridge with Autobot help,” Soundwave explains.

Starscream takes a moment to digest Soundwave’s suggestion. He smiles at him and places a servo on his pauldron. “It’s a good plan. Keep it up and you might just best me in the planning department. We’ll see to it that it gets done.” Soundwave basks in the praise, softly smiling at Starscream. Starscream’s servo lingers on his pauldron, optics looking into his. He opens his mouth before he closes it and steps away. What was Starscream going to say?

“Were you going to say something?” Soundwave asks, holding Starscream’s servo and keeping him close.

Starscream looks away, “it’s nothing.”

Soundwave cups his face with his servo and gently turns Starscream’s helm to face him. “It’s not nothing. You can tell me.” His spark flutters, hopeful of what Starscream is about to say.

Starscream opens his cockpit and reaches inside, pulling out a small black box. He dramatically sighs, feigning a nonchalant attitude. “Since we’re talking about my plans, might as well discuss the other one.” Soundwave’s optics go wide. There couldn’t possibly be-

“I assumed the only natural evolution of our relationship was this,” Starscream opens the box, revealing two matching silver rings inside. There are small intricate engravings all around the outer rim of the rings.

Starscream wants to marry him?

Soundwave has to calm himself. He reminds himself that in this moment, as far as he knows with complete certainty, Starscream wants to pretend to marry him. But it’s undeniable that Starscream had spent a lot of time making those rings, thinking of them while doing it, there’s no way he doesn’t feel something.

Starscream closes the box, “but I must admit that we might have to rethink our plan.” Soundwave’s spark dims, feeling crushed. Is Starscream ending their ruse? Was he wrong about Starscream? Soundwave is taken aback until Starscream clears his vocaliser again.

“Soundwave, I’ve grown to care for you a lot more than I ever expected to and as much as the idea of pretending to marry you appeals to me, I’d much rather actually marry you.”

Starscream does want to marry him. Starscream wants Soundwave at his side as much as Soundwave wants to be by his side. His spark flutters in his spark chamber, elated at the news. His processor can't process how much he wants this.

Starscream scans over Soundwave’s pretty face, no real reaction evident on it. Starscream stammers, “of course, this is absurd of me to say seeing as we haven’t-“

Soundwave pulls the fool into a kiss, and Starscream quickly reciprocates. Soundwave deepens the kiss, wrapping his arms around Starscream’s neck. Starscream sighs at his lips before joining them again, servos grasping at his waist. His vents puff out steam, both of their plating getting warmer as they continue to crash into each other, unable to pull away. Starscream tastes exactly as he did the last time they kissed like this, but Soundwave greedily goes back for more regardless. Soundwave has the spark to admit it; he likes kissing Starscream. He loves being with Starscream. He’d gladly spend the rest of his functioning with him.

He pulls away, but there’s still barely any space between them. They’re venting the same warm air and practically panting into each other’s mouths. Starscream has that dazed look on his face. “I’ll marry you.”

Starscream barely registers it, still pleasantly dazed from their kiss. “Pretend to marry me or actually marry me?”

Soundwave cups Starscream’s flushed face with both of his servos, “I’ll actually marry you right now.”

Starscream hesitates, “are you sure?” He’s still heavily ventilating, freshly knocked out of his haze from Soundwave’s declaration.

“I want nothing more than to stay at your side.” That spurs Starscream to kiss him again, relishing in Soundwave’s affection. They continue like that until Starscream pulls away, however his servos were still firmly holding Soundwave’s waist.

Starscream fails to clear his vocaliser, voice is laced with static. “Did you actually mean getting married tonight?”

It was incredibly fortunate they were sent to Las Vegas tonight.

“Yes, they have chapels here that hold quick wedding ceremonies. We can easily get a marriage licence,” Soundwave suggests.

Starscream kisses his cheek, “let’s go get married then.”

Soundwave and Starscream then happily terrorise a terrified priest into wedding them for free and had their marriage licence mailed to the Autobot base.

-

After an excruciatingly long flight and an even longer night together, Soundwave laid in Starscream’s bed.

He’s pleasantly tired, processor blissfully vacant of anything but Starscream, who was resting his helm on Soundwave’s tapedeck, his digit absentmindedly traced his Decepticon insignia. They were both littered with paint transfers and little scuffs; both still damp with condensation from how hot their plating got earlier that night. Despite the slight ache beginning to form in his joints, Soundwave still basked in the afterglow of what had transpired. (Starscream was shockingly good at interfacing for a virgin, and Soundwave wonders what it’ll be like when he’s had more experience.)

Soundwave snakes an arm around Starscream’s back, pulling him closer. He looks at their rings, now adorning both of their servos. “When did you make these rings?” How long was Starscream thinking about marrying him?

Starscream presses a kiss under his jaw, “I made it with leftover material from the cannon I made for you a while back. The cassettes still haven’t returned it, and I still want it back.” Soundwave snickers into Starscream’s audial, and it’s still music to his audials. “As much as I like scaring humans, I still would’ve liked an actual wedding with you.”

Soundwave hums, gently stroking Starscream’s wing. “Why not? Let’s plan one.”

Starscream squints, “but we just got married.”

“We need a grand finale for your other plan, don’t we?” Soundwave smirks, sporting something akin to Starscream’s signature shit-eating grin.

Starscream kisses Soundwave’s insignia then plants a kiss on his lips. “Oh, you’re devious. Let’s do it.” Starscream has been a horrible influence on him, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

-

At the next Autobot-Decepticon meeting, Soundwave and Starscream walk in hand in hand. Which isn’t unusual for them by now, but regardless everyone in the conference room had their optics focused on the shiny matching rings on their servos.

Elita-1 and Optimus share looks, mouthing “when did that happen?” to each other. Megatron seemed to shut down, processor malfunctioning. Shockwave had become accustomed to being out of the loop when it came to Starscream and Soundwave.

“We have a new proposition for you, all in here,” Starscream slides a datapad across the conference table. He’s still holding Soundwave’s servo. They’re unashamed when it comes to public displays of affection.

Optimus and Elita-1 look over the proposal, Megatron still mentally clocked out. “You want to build a communication array and satellite?” Elita-1 asked.

“We want to reestablish contact with Cybertron. Then we’ll rebuild the spacebridge in Witwicky, allowing us to return to Cybertron,” Starscream succinctly explains, sporting a smirk. “Of course, Soundwave and I found it odd that none of you have even thought about our home planet since the end of the war.”

Optimus speaks up, still stunned at the sight of Starscream and Soundwave’s rings and plans. “We don’t know if there’s a Cybertron to return to.”

Starscream shares a judging look with Soundwave. He smugly wonders what has all of the mechs in the room so distracted. (Though he is slightly peeved that Optimus appears to not be listening or understanding any part of their incredibly simple proposal.) “Which is why Soundwave was suggesting we build a communications array. If our planet still stands or there are surviving Cybertronians elsewhere, contacting them would be the best course of action.” Starscream proudly boasts, “Isn’t Soundwave so clever? He drew up the schematics and everything.”

The Autobots (and Shockwave) digest the new proposal.

Elita-1 breaks the silence of the room, “it’s a solid plan. You’ll have our support for it. Anything you want, you’ll get it.”

Optimus looks around the room, “anything else to discuss?”

“Oh right. One more thing, more of an administrative change if anything,” Starscream simpers, looking at Soundwave. “Since Soundwave and I are getting married-”

Megatron’s processor jumpstarts, now finally processing sensory information. He jumps from his chair, “married?!” How in the world was Soundwave and Starscream getting married? Optimus and Elita know they’re going to listen to Megatron rant incessantly later that day.

Starscream basks in Megatron’s surprise, now wearing a shit-eating grin,” yes, married-”

Married?!” Megatron yells again, instinctively reacting to the word. He’s quickly ventilating and had slammed his servos against the conference table. Optimus has to usher him back into his seat.

“How much more clarification do you need?!” Starscream yells back, holding out his servo and holding Soundwave’s servo in the other. Their rings were right in Megatron’s horrified face. “We’re engaged to be married, and we’ll be co-leading the Decepticons when we do. Shockwave is getting promoted to Second-In-Command.”

Optimus has to hold Megatron back from jumping from his seat again. “You’re really getting married?” Surprising as it was, Optimus was glad for them.

Starscream groans and rolls his optics. He shows his servo bearing the ring again, making a point to repeatedly point at the shiny ring, “yes! Are your audials functioning?” Starscream sighs and gets out of his seat, Soundwave following suit. “Anyways, don’t bother us too much, we have a wedding to plan and a communications array to build.” They both leave the same way they entered. They left Shockwave behind.

Elita-1 looks at Shockwave who still lingered in the conference room. He looked as surprised as they were. "Did you know about any of that?"

"My promotion was news to me. Though I doubt I'll have much say in things, knowing those two,” Shockwave shrugs his pauldrons and leaves the conference room.

-

Megatron finally takes up Dot on her offer to chat. He had been driving himself insane bottling up everything he saw in his processor.

“You’re looking a little worse for wear, Megs,” Dot grimaces. “You doing okay?”

Megatron tries to calm himself, taking a long vent in and out. He isn’t any calmer. “Soundwave’s getting married to Starscream. He is genuinely getting married. To Starscream. Out of all mechs!” His processor is rapid firing, unable to process anything.

Dot realises she maybe should’ve heeded Optimus and Elita’s warnings when it came to Megatron talking about Soundwave. The mech definitely needed to work through some unresolved things. She tries to approach him gently, “how does that make you feel, exactly?”

Megatron pauses his ranting, pacing in circles. “I am sure that I… disapprove of it. And I dislike seeing them together as it irks me.”

Dot nods, “yes but why does it annoy you? You haven’t dated Soundwave in years, and you haven’t been on good terms with him since you defected from the Decepticons.”

Megatron quickens his pacing, “but he shouldn’t be dating Starscream, let alone be getting married to him!”

“Is your issue with Starscream or Soundwave? You don’t have any say in who Soundwave dates,” Dot cannot believe she’s helping a mech millions of years old through his old relationship issues. Not exactly how she thought she’d be spending her day.

Megatron seems to slow down, slowly accepting what Dot says.

“I think your real issue is how your relationship with Soundwave ended. When you told Soundwave you were defecting and asked him to come with you, he declined and chose the Decepticons over you. And now he’s choosing Starscream over you. You’re mad he didn’t choose you.”

Megatron shakes his head, “no, I am over Soundwave, and I do not linger on the past. I just want him to date literally any other mech.”

Dot groans, quietly cursing out how stubborn her friend is. “Sure, Megs, whatever you say.” She gets up to leave, “let’s continue this conversation with a couple of drinks, I can tell we’re going to be here for a long time.”

-

Little did Dot and Megatron know, Laserbeak had been circling the Malto farm from above broadcasting the entire affair to Starscream, Soundwave and the other cassettes.

Frenzy chucks a rust stick at Starscream, “boo! You said he was going to crash out and rant for hours!”

“How was I supposed to know the human was actually going to talk him through whatever deep-seated issues he has? Anyways, give it time, sooner or later they’ll be back and Megatron will be drunkenly ranting into the night.” Starscream has an arm wrapped around Soundwave’s pauldrons, holding him close. Soundwave is resting his helm against Starscream’s chassis, and Ravage is bundled up on his lap.

“That reminds me, Hashtag wasn’t too mad at you about your secret plan, was she?” Soundwave asks. Starscream wasn’t too pleased that Soundwave clued Hashtag in on his plan.

“She was slightly less mad after I said I’d let her be the flower girl at our wedding. She’s still incredibly mad so I do owe her a favour, her own personal cannon and I need to watch all of the Descendants movies with her. She drives a hard bargain,” Starscream laments.

“I also want a cannon,” Frenzy demands.

“You have one! You still haven’t returned the one you stole from me!” Starscream complains while Frenzy blows raspberries at him.

Eventually Laserbeak’s broadcasted feed shows Megatron and Dot returning with drinks in hand. Frenzy watches in anticipation, excited to watch Megatron act like a fool. Soundwave snickers watching Megatron quickly slip into another rant.

“Where should we seat Megatron at our wedding?” Soundwave asks, digit running up and down the glass of Starscream’s cockpit. “We could give him front row seats.”

“Hm, he might find it odd if we seat him that close. But we would get a perfect view of him losing his temper,” Starscream considers. “How likely do you think it is that he objects at the wedding?”

“Hard to say. Regardless, if he tries anything I’ll shoot him.”

“We can both shoot him, it’ll be his wedding gift to us,” Starscream presses a kiss to Soundwave’s servo. Soundwave pulls him in for another kiss, despite Frenzy’s protests.

“Gross! Ugh, keep it in your panels! I’m trying to enjoy Megatron’s crashing out! He’s crashing out so bad the Terrans have noticed,” Frenzy whines.

They hold off for Frenzy’s sake and go back to cuddling. Soundwave was exactly where he wants to be.

Notes:

thanks for reading!! here's a dump of stuff that i couldn't include: upon the announcement of Starscream and Soundwave's wedding, Skywarp and Nova Storm began hunting down Swindle and Hardtop. Starscream and Soundwave are bridezillas and make their wedding everyone's problem (they are using the Autobots' credit card to fund their exceedingly lavish wedding). Starscream eventually realises Soundwave has thought he was a virgin the entire time and quickly tells Soundwave otherwise. Twitch watches Megatron crash out and realise her goat is washed and tries to help Megatron truly move on, Hashtag spends her time laughing at Megatron because she's still a little mad about staying up incredibly late to make that powerpoint for Megatron. Soundwave and Starscream consider getting married on a major holiday so Megatron is reminded of their wedding anniversary every time that holiday rolls around. Each of the cassettes get a paint ball gun to shoot anyone who thinks about objecting at the wedding. Starscream starts boasting about his marriage unprompted during conversations (he has gotten 100x more annoying after getting married). Soundwave does sit in Starscream's lap whenever they have Autobot-Decepticon meetings. (no one bothers to attempt getting them to be normal during these meetings)

i might,,, possibly,,, attempt writing soundwave and starscream getting down and dirty after getting married if i ever get free time again and i channel my inner goonercracker but no promises (i have to go back to school tomorrow and I DONT WANT TOOOOOOOOO) anyways thank you for reading!!!

Notes:

if you actually read this thanks for engaging with my delusions briefly

(if its a lil unclear why megoplita is like standing outside the prison cells,, megatron was arguing against soundwave being jailed because its soundwave the guy is dangerous and would probably end up hacking ghost > then they just end up making out yeah sorry i didn't put much thought into it and im starting to believe a lot of this only makes sense to me and me alone but thats okay)

did not realise this end note would appear on other chapters,, whoops hi gang!!!!!
