Summary
When a Sage of Primus is murdered in cold blood, the only detective for the job is Ex-enforcer Prowl and his co-worker (read: Assistant) Smokescreen. But as a mech shows up, seeming to fit the evidence perfectly, and layers upon layers of the case unravel, Prowl can't help but feel like something is going very wrong. There is a rot at the foundation of their society, and the hollow space it leaves behind allows even worse things to fester and grow. Jazz has to prove he didn't murder anyone, Prowl has to stop Jazz from running away, and the two have work together to solve the mystery.
