Chapter Text

Ollie just started his shift in the 7/11. He had a night shift so it was kind of bothersome but nothing he couldn’t handle. About to walk into the store to clock in, he saw someone who looked like Liam walk out. He was carrying a cherry slushie. But what would Liam be doing at a time like this?

Weird. Probably a doppelganger or something. It's not that rare to find a guy with blond hair.

He walked in. It was his first day on the job so he was inspecting the area. Walking over to the half-asleep cashier, he asked. “Hey, was Liam Lawson just here? Yknow… the Formula 1 driver?”

The cashier jumped, startled from being talked to while his eyes drifted. “Hu- oh uh… OH SHIT IT WAS.”

Oh poor guy. He was probably too tired to notice.

“I can't believe it! I didn’t get an autograph or picture or anything!”

Ollie sighed. “It is what it is I guess…”

The cashier stared into Ollies eyes. Woah there. “Now wait. You're the new hire right?”

“Yup”

“...Arent you Oliver Bearman?”

“Nope”

“Oh. Alright.”

They changed places as the cashier clocked out. Wow I guess he really was tired. His name was literally on his name badge. Oh well! He’ll just confess on his next shift.

Ollie was left alone in the 7/11. He was scrolling on his phone as there was literally no one else coming in. He was bored out of his mind. He started to walk around, fixing some shelves with boxes his manager told him to do. He walked to the back of the 7/11, noticing the slushie machine.

Well… whats one slushie?

He grabbed a large cup, dispensing the slushie out. He didn’t check what the flavor was, but guessing from the fact it was brown, then it was probably Coca-cola. His moral conscience wouldn’t let him use his employee privileges anymore than this so it's too late now.

He heard someone walk in. Oh yay he can do his job now.

The person’s footsteps sounded like it was walking directly towards him. Weird.

That's when he heard the person call out.

“...Ollie?”

Oh. Oh hey!

“Hi Arvid Lindblad!”

Arvid sighed in response. Pfft. Now guys, THIS is why he keeps signing up for part time jobs.

“...Mate. Why are you here.”

Is this guy stupid? “Im working. Obviously.”

“Oh… Alright. Can you pour me a slushie then?”

Ollie smiled. “Of course!” Goddamnnn he has his customer service voice perfected at this point.

Ollie set his own slushie down, grabbing another cup and placing it down under one of the dispensers. He decided to place it in the middle slot this time. Would it be cherry or blue raspberry? He wonders. He decides to bet on blue raspberry. Its only a 50/50 chance so…

Oh. It is blue raspberry! God hes a genius.

“Here man, your slushie.”

Arvid stared at the slushie. He probably wanted Cherry. Oh well not his fault he didn’t specify before telling him to pour him one. He looked like he didn’t mind that much though.

Arvid took a sip out of the large cup. Judging from his reaction. It was decent enough. “Ah mate I forgot what blue raspberry tasted like.”

“Oooo let me have a sip.”

“Dont you have your own slushie? Is that cola?”

“Awh man be sorry for me I dont even like cola” Ollie frowned, trying to look as sad as he could. Maybe Arvid would take pity on him and they could switch.

Arvid shook his head in response. “Nope, absolutely not.”

Oh well!

“Oh yeah I saw your teammate exit out a while ago. He got a cherry slushie.”

Arvid’s eyes widened instantly. Wait, didn't they crash last race? He remembers driving past Liam’s car. Oops. Probably shouldn’t have said that.
“Where was he heading?” Arvid was panicking.

“Uh… yknow that park with that lake? I think he was headed around that area.”

“Shit. Hold this.” Arvid gave Ollie his slushie, hurriedly taking out his wallet from his pocket. He handed Ollie a 10 euro bill. He then quickly snatched back his slushie. Sprinting off to the door.

“Oi bye Ollie thanks for telling me!”

“Uh huh byebye!”

Ah. He hopes they make up. That’d be cool. But oh well! That's not his business.

He goes back to the counter, placing the money in the cash register and goes back to scrolling on his phone. Oh who is he kidding. He dashes out the door, concealing his footsteps. He HAS to see this.
