Chapter Text
George POV
The meeting room was quieter than usual.
Nobody laughed.
Nobody argued.
Even Bad had stopped reminding Quackity about his language.
The wooden table in the center of the room was covered with maps, old journals, and scraps of paper Tubbo had brought from Technoblade's abandoned supply cache.
Dream stood at the head of the table, one hand resting on the weathered journal.
"So?" Sapnap asked, crossing his arms. "What's the lead?"
Tubbo flipped through several pages before stopping.
"I spent most of last night reading these."
"They're mostly supply records... farming notes... battle plans..."
He paused.
"...but there were a few personal entries."
The room fell even quieter.
I leaned against the wall, watching Dream's posture stiffen.
"He wrote about Phil."
Tubbo turned another page.
"He wrote about Tommy."
Another page.
"He wrote about Wilbur."
I noticed Philza glance over for only a second from the window before looking away again.
Then Tubbo stopped.
"...and he wrote about someone else."
Dream stepped forward.
"The brother?"
Tubbo nodded.
"He never wrote his name."
"But he called him his little brother."
A heavy silence settled over the room.
So it was true.
Technoblade hadn't lied.
He actually had family nobody knew about.
Dream broke the silence first.
"What else?"
Tubbo swallowed.
"There was one page near the end."
"It says..."
He looked back down at the journal before reading aloud.
"'If anything ever happens to me... don't let them find him.'"
Nobody spoke.
I felt something twist in my stomach.
Out of everyone...
Why a brother?
Dream slowly held out his hand.
"The journal."
Tubbo handed it over without another word.
Dream skimmed through the remaining pages, his eyes moving faster and faster until he suddenly stopped.
"...Coordinates."
I frowned.
"Coordinates?"
The blonde turned the book around.
"There."
Written hastily in the corner of one page was a small set of numbers.
A location.
Not a name.
Not a description.
Just coordinates.
"We already talked about this, though?" I finally spoke, breaking the silence.
Every head in the room turned toward me.
Dream nodded once.
"To you," he corrected. "Not to everyone else."
"...Oh."
Right.
He'd pulled me aside before any of this.
I rubbed the back of my neck, suddenly feeling a little awkward beneath everyone's stares.
"So that's why you kept asking us to trust you," Sapnap muttered.
Dream didn't answer.
Instead, he tapped a finger against the coordinates scribbled in the journal.
"This changes everything."
Philza frowned.
"How?"
Dream looked up.
"Because now we don't have to search blindly anymore."
He paused.
"We have somewhere to start."
Nobody celebrated.
Nobody smiled.
If anything...
The room somehow felt even colder.
I couldn't stop staring at the page.
Just a few numbers.
That was all Technoblade had left behind.
No name.
No description.
No warning.
Just coordinates...
...and one final plea.
"If anything ever happens to me... don't let them find him."
I swallowed.
Looking around the room...
I realized everyone here was planning to do exactly the opposite.
"So..." Quackity finally spoke, breaking the silence.
"When do we leave?"
"Immediately," Dream answered without hesitation.
Phil frowned.
"Wouldn't it be smarter to prepare first?"
"We'll prepare on the way."
The room erupted into quiet movement.
Sapnap began checking the durability of his armor.
Tubbo rolled up the maps and tucked the journal safely into his bag.
Bad hurried toward the brewing stand.
"If we're traveling, we're bringing healing potions."
"I already packed food," Skeppy called from the corner.
Quackity rested his axe on his shoulder with a grin.
"I've been ready since yesterday."
I watched everyone scatter across the room as I stepped out, walking out the palace.
Nobody was preparing for a conversation.
Nobody was preparing to ask questions.
They were preparing for a battle.
Against someone...
...they had never even met.
Phil walked over beside me.
"You alright, mate?"
My heart skipped.
I almost told him.
About the journal.
About the brother.
About Dream hiding everything from him.
Then I remembered Dream's words.
"Phil doesn't need to know."
"...Yeah," I lied.
"Just tired."
Phil studied my face for a moment.
He didn't look convinced.
But he nodded anyway.
"If you say so."
As he walked away, guilt settled in my chest.
I hated lying to him.
Especially about this.
Not when he deserved to know more than anyone.
I stepped outside, hoping the fresh air would clear my mind.
It didn't.
"Hey."
"You okay?"
A familiar voice pulled me from my thoughts.
Hannah.
"Hannah," I chuckled, voice more strained.
"Hey."
The brunette waved, a small smile forming on her face.
She looked... relaxed.
Good for her.
"You okay?" She asked, her smile shifting slightly.
I snapped out, remembering how sleep deprived I look.
"Never been better."
I lied.
Silence filled the air.
She sighed, moving her head away from me. "I heard Dream wants to kill Techno's brother."
My stomach sank.
She knew?
The female turned her gaze from me again.
"What? You thought I wouldn't know?"
She smirked, eyes smiling.
"Well, I didn't know you'd—"
"George."
I froze.
Dream.
Again.
"What now?" I sighed.
Dream's eyes met mine behind the mask.
"We found another clue."
"What clue?" Hannah asked.
Dream reached into his inventory and unfolded an old map.
"The coordinates match an old kingdom."
He smiled.
"A kingdom Technoblade used to visit."
My stomach dropped.
Dream looked around at everyone gathering in the courtyard.
"We move tomorrow."
No one objected.
No one questioned him.
"Wait," a voice interrupted.
Aimsey?
"I'm coming."
She said, voice strained slightly.
"Wait—"
"Me too," Hannah agreed, interrupting Tubbo.
"Aimsey, you can't just—"
"If I can't learn how to fight, when can I?" The rabbit yelled, interrupting Tubbo once more.
"Fine," Dream shrugged.
Does he not even care about anyone anymore?
"Once again, we move out tomorrow."
Everyone turned to look at him, listening to each statement.
"Take rest for now, you'll need it," he ended.
I stood there for another moment, watching everyone walk back to their base, staring at the map in Dream's hands.
Phil laughed quietly with Bad as they packed supplies.
He had no idea where everyone was really going.
And somehow...
I was helping keep him in the dark.
Somewhere beyond those coordinates...
Someone had absolutely no idea...
...their life was about to change forever.
