Wifies woke up about half an hour later to the sound of multiple people speaking over each other, a profoundly irritating alarm.
His character stood on the beach, staring straight ahead at Periastron, who was in front of him and staring back. She did not speak, did not move, truly AFK for the first time. They were surrounded by other players, all gawking at their survival, wondering how they’d gotten here.
Yeah, he did not pity the backache she was going to have when she woke up. It was already hitting him, and he barely stifled a pained noise as he straightened up from the hunched posture he’d been in all this time.
“Let’s just execute him!” he heard Tttthatguyeyes say, right before they ran up from behind Periastron and jumped at him with an enchanted diamond axe in hand.
He had never lunged for his keyboard so fast in his life, mashing Esc and clicking Disconnect moments before disaster. He sank backward into his chair as he quit the world, swearing buckets as he let out a long sigh of relief.
Man, fuck that.
A ping alerted him to the fact that a user with the display name ‘PeriASStron’ had added him on Discord. When he tapped into the DM to accept her friend request, he was immediately met with one single message.

Wifies looked at it for several minutes, then shut down his computer.
Fuck that, too.
