Chapter Text

PK Academy has not changed at all in the last 25 years. It’s still the same school it was when Kanako’s father attended many years ago. Different students, different teachers and it’s still the same damn building.

“It’s April and it’s a new year.”

Kanako, Momo, Chinatsu, Ryu and a cavalcade of colourful background characters and future players are sitting in the gymnasium is giving a speech welcoming the old students back and describing the fire years as new sakuras blooming to welcome a new era.

“…My mother used to say, a Sakura blooming in April is a sign of a new era. And I would like to welcome our new first years to PK….”

“Good grief, this is such a dull speech that even the writer doesn’t even want to write it. I pity him as he is trying his best to recreate the experience of a Japanese high school curriculum as accurately as possible. As I sit in-between the only person I tolerate…” She looks to Momo whom was probably thinking about Ken Takakura. “….And an unfortunate off spring.” Ryu Kaidou sat next to her thinking of the fact he was sitting next to the hottest girl in school.

“No way! I am actually sitting next to the hottest girl in school. Wait, could this be my chance this year? Or is this a trap laid out by dark reunion themself?! No! They dare use Kanako’s flawless beauty as a means to deceive me.”

“No, you just sat next to me by pure luck. Good grief, Writer6188 you’re probably wondering as to why Ryu is like this. His Dad is a madman but all for a different reason and his wife is just as mad for falling in love with him. Well…Let’s take this flashback to 12 years ago.”

May 16th 2025 (Creepy Nuts dominated the billboards)

Young Ryu Kaidou was wandering around the house playing with his action figure where he could hear his father in his bedroom talking to his mother. “…With the dark force in my right arm suppressed, I will make sure Dark Reunion will never get their hands on them! I promise I will protect my family and my son, who has inherited my heavy burden! When the time comes, he will need to wear these bandages to suppress his own dark powers.”

“Ohhhhh….My!” Chiyo moaned dramatically.

Feeling inspired and excited by his inherited powers, he looks at his right hand like he recognises his fate and destiny. “I have powers I need to keep suppressed? Don’t worry father, I will keep these suppressed until the day Dark Reunion shows their presence.” As Ryu ran to begin his training, the truth behind his father’s declaration is revealed.

Kaidou stood in his boxers, feeling embarrassed standing in front of his wife, whom was wearing some lingerie. “I don’t know, Chiyo, this feels kind of humiliating. I know we agreed to try foreplay, but are my childhood delusions a good turn on.”

Chiyo was smiling. “It’s working on me.”

Flashback ends.

“Believe it or not, that was the night Ryu’s little sister, Wakana was conceived. As for another anomaly, Momo’s mind. I can’t read her mind at all. She isn’t dumb, but she isn’t smart either. She is hot headed and impulsive. I mean, as far as I’m aware of, she isn’t related to Nendou.” Kanako shudders in horror at the thought of her best friend being related to Nendou of all people especially when she imagines her with his distinct chin balls. “Uh….No. That is a disturbing thought.”

“Momo doesn’t know of my psychic powers. She doesn’t need to. Who knows what kind of problems would come if she knew. Right now, I am hearing the thoughts of many first year students…”

“Man, I am so anxious.”

“I hope my Dad will respect me.”

“I can’t believe my step-Dad respects my stoner step sister more than me.”

“How come I’m in the same school as my ex girlfriend? This is unfair!”

“Crap, did I leave the bedroom door unlocked? I don’t want my parents to find out about my nudie magazines.”

“….Yeah, you won’t spend time with most of these characters. Maybe one. But…The rest…Not really. You’ll have to spend time with the unfortunate second years.”

“Oh, I hope my clothes don’t get sucked in the toilet again. My Mom won’t be able to afford that buffet she wanted to visit.”

“Uh! Why am I here with these lowlifes? Father should have gotten me into a private school! He is rich enough to do so.”

“Mom said she met Dad here. Somehow, she found his boring hobbies endearing and he wanted to be with her despite the fact that her luck is famously bad.”

“I will ruin that bitch Kanako. I can see the future and her family will be torn apart by a dramatic truth!”

“I wonder where Dad keeps his old nudie magazines?”

“Why doesn’t my Dad pay attention to me? I am being a delinquent just like him and he can’t even look at me!”

“Wow, there are so many first years here. I wonder if there are more first years here than there were when we first started? I wonder if that visually impaired one would need help? Or is it acceptable to call them blind? Because blind tends to be insulting for some people-“

“Would the readers be okay with my character having two moms? This is a fictional 2036 after all. And if anyone complains about my amazing lesbian mothers, they’re homophobic.”

“Try and figure out whose parents these students belong to. Trust me, there is a chance you won’t be surprised.”

Soon after the assembly, Kanako and Momo and all the other characters we will get to throughout the story, all began their walk to their homeroom. “Good grief, another school year. Let’s face it, no one likes school. There is so much pressure put upon us to do great, there are too many unlikeable characters and I really do not like the fact the libraries don’t have manga is enough to piss me off. But going to school means there is a chance for me to find a job so I can use my hard earned money to buy all the manga I want. Now, I know you want to meet some of the characters throughout the series and unfortunately for me…”

“67…68….69….70….”

Across from Kanako was a girl with maroon hair, a muscular form, brown eyes and a gap in her tooth she might have lost in a fight. She was currently lifting a dumbbell right outside of her locker. Hairo.

She was currently teaching some new first year students, the perfect way to lift a dumbbell in order to get a ripped bicep like her. “Anyway, that is my tip on getting the perfect biceps.” She slams the dumbbell back in her locker and drops on her back, which makes her school shirt lift up to show off her abs. She starts doing rapid sit ups. “Now…Watch me execute perfect ab crunches. You punks want a six pack, right?”

“Homura Hairo. Daughter of Kineshi Hairo.”

“Uh…There she goes again.” Momo groaned while poking her unimpressive abdomen. “Hey Homura, you’re gonna get your shirt dirty!”

“Excellent observation, Ayase!” Homura shoots up, her shirt shifting to flash her abs of steel. “Listen first years, if you need some workout advice, come to me!”

Homura does a few front flips and lands in front of Kanako and Momo, flaunting her muscles. “So, are you two excited for the new school year? I hope to do better than I did during last year’s physical exam! You remember right?!” Homura exhaled sadly. “I didn’t do as well as my Dad.”

“You got the top score.”

“You can tell she is exactly like her father. Muscle freak, hyping everyone including herself up and always unintentionally exposing one part of her body.” Homura flexes, causing her abs to show. “Thankfully it’s not her butt. A little backstory, a person as intense as Kinishi has to be married to someone as intense. His wife Akane is that person. She is a firefighter who really enjoys her job and is probably more intense than Kinishi. She sometimes runs into fires to rescue families without protection and allegedly fought against fire using her bare fists. Kinishi met her when she saved him from a gym fire where he tripped and exposed his rectum to her. Most women in a genre like this would accuse him of being a pervert, but Akane is not that person. She found him brave and they went out on their first date, where they engaged in a push up contest. Their wedding was just as intense. They got married right in front of a volcano a day before it was set to erupt. Funny enough, if you know Japanese, you know that Homura means fire. That’s because, Akane fought against a house fire in her own home whilst in labour which lead to Homura to be gifted with her name. As for being a muscle freak, you have her Dad to thank. He motivated her to start working out which lead to her being the first toddler in our kindergarten with biceps. As for Kinishi….”

An enthusiastic scream is heard running towards them. “HOMURA!!!!!” Dressed in a red tracksuit and with his sleeves ripped, exposing his biceps, was Homura’s father himself, Kinishi Hairo; PK Academy’s gym teacher. He was running down the corridors, completely disregarding the rules.

“Huh?”

Before Momo could react, Hairo accidentally slammed into her, knocking her on her rear. “Homura!!! Are you excited for the physical exam?!”

“I sure am Dad!” Homura responded. “I sure do hope everyone else is as healthy as I am!”

“Mentally or physically?”

“Excellent! Do you have your lunch or are you getting cafeteria?! I wouldn’t recommend it!”

“I made my own lunch, don’t worry!” Homura realised something. “Oh no! I forgot my lunch, Dad! I have enough money for cafeteria….”

Just then, they smelt burning coming from outside. Outside stood a woman dressed in her firefighter gear except a helmet. She had hair red as fire, eyes like a tiger about to pounce on its prey, sleeves rolled up to reveal her own muscles, fire blazing on her back and a Tupperware lunchbox in her right hand.

“Homura! I got your lunch! You forgot it!”

Homura pressed her face against the window. “Thanks mom!”

“Okay, what is the timeline here? Did she stop a fire and retrieve her lunch? Or did she retrieve her lunch and stopped to put out a fire? Good grief, I hope this family doesn’t become recurring characters.”
