While all Selkies return to the sea, not all there tales end in tragedy. A handsome young fisherman tried his hand, and win the love of the selkie he did, but cold as his heart was he could not keep the young man captive. So he returned the selkie his skin, and into the sea he disappeared. For months the fisherman longed for him, but his lover returned, with a gift and a promise. A Selkie the fisherman did become, and the two left for the sea together, to raise a family.
