Chapter Text
It had been an eventful load of centuries for Scott. He left that cursed barrier and promptly pushed those awful memories away as he rejoiced in his new eternal life as a vampire. Aeolus had tried to kill him once but for him to just get up again seemed to be too much of a shock for them and they left.
Of course when that bitch witch put him to a sleep for eternity he was not very happy.
At least it was a magical sleep so Morpheos couldn't get to him and torment him.
Oh well. Time to leave and terrorise some humans.
He kicked open his coffin and brushed off the cobwebs on his nice cape. How dare those spiders do that.
Past the ruins of the castle that would simply have to be rebuilt, past the crumbling bridge
that he leapt over.
Good to know his vampiric powers still worked. The forest would have been scary as a familiar presence against all the change the passage of time had caused.
To the town that was now populated with humans he now walked but stopped at the forest edge to survey the surroundings. He couldn't see past the crumbling walls but from what he could see was...
He watched from a distance when he realised just who they were from what he could see. The red head who was so loud he could hear them from the treeline, very unlike the satyr he semi-knew. A girl in a brown trenchcoat whose laughter sounded like the rising sun.
A girl with crimson hair, not unlike the blindfolded one he was friends with.
A fiery spirited girl with a glinting ring on her ring finger, she would look better with black feathers.
An energetic brunette woman whose sclera were darker than most.
A man with a scar running down his blue eye and gushing about his latest book.
And a quiet lumberjack who was staring right back at him with only one good eye.
She started to walk towards him, quiet and controlled movements making him seem dangerous. And with the axe in her hands he probably was.
When Scott saw a white blindness in one eye he ran. It was too similar to his Owen, to his friend, to his savior, to the reason he was still alive.
He ran till he reached a cliff edge. Hot blood was running down his cheeks at the sight of his long dead friends. They were just there!?
The people that should be dead were laughing with each other like before.
Before
Before
Before…
He couldn't save them way back when. There wasn't enough time for him too, right?
The whispers in the wind ridiculed him. They blamed him for their deaths and honestly? They were probably right. It was his fault.
A presence behind him shook him mostly out of those thoughts.
“Scott. Is that you?” it was her voice. The same one that told him to run. That foretold the barrier breaking. That saved him.
“Y-yeah. Is it you Owen? As in the one I knew.”
“Yep. It's been so long. I didn't think you lived.”
“I’m very hard to kill.”
“Owen, how are you here?”
“Chronos gave me a second shot at life. What about you?”
“I followed your advice and ran. I got lucky and they didn't follow me. Owen, do you know what a vampire is?”
“Well I am one so yes.”
They spent the rest of the night catching up every moment from their new lives. Scott had more to say, he was alive longer, and Owen was always good at listening.
“Hey, can I ask you something?” Scott said timidly.
“Yes?”
“Do you plan on telling anyone about their past life?”
“Nah, unless we can trust them to keep their mouths shut we can't risk it. It really screws with the timeline.”
“Maybe some day… when I rebuild my coven.” Scott stood up from the cliff and stretched a little before offering his hand to the vampire, “Would you like to be my second in command when I do?”
He could see the gears turning in her mind before he took his hand and agreed.
