Chapter Text
In a distant galaxy where the Galra Empire is expanding, progress seems to be halted by something on the edges of their borders. However, as the saying goes. "Vrepit sa." so the Galra Empire continues in their excessive need to conquer everything in their way. They may stumble into forces in the far reaches of the galaxies that may eventually kneel to them or oppose them.
But here in the Euclid galaxy, the Traveller is in their freighter feeling bored due to the lack of recent action. However, the new very small freighters that have been coming to these systems have been a bit fun. They looked out of the reinforced window to see hundreds of destroyed Galra battle cruisers floating in the abyss of space.
Then suddenly the Traveller felt a tap on their shoulder and they looked behind them and it was Kos, a member of their squadron. "captain friend! will give sweet smell cause friend help Gek system from pirate" Kos said as the Gek released pheromones near the Traveler as a form of praise.
After the strong release of pheromones in the bridge, the Traveller looked at Tryok, their second-in-command. "take care of the freighter for me for a bit. i'm going to try to find out where these guys are coming from" the Traveller asked Tryok. The Gek nodded, and they went down to the docking bay through a portal in the navigation room as a shortcut.
Now in the middle of Row one is their sentinel ship, an S-class starship equipped with an infra-knife and missile launcher, along with suspicious modules on all tech.
As the Traveller approached the starship, the front of it opened to allow them into the cockpit. They entered and immediately started up the launch thrusters. Meanwhile, Tryok began opening the hangar gate for them, and the Traveller exited the freighter.
The Traveller flew the starship to a nearby destroyed Galra battle cruiser, went inside and landed in the small freighter. They started rummaging around to find information about the new species that had been snooping around in their side of the galaxy, and to locate coordinates for payback.
After a few hours of searching the ship, they found a control panel. However, when they tried to use it, the purple panel lit up and displayed scribbles in a language they did not understand. "for fuck sake, who would have guessed that the unknown alien species have their own language?!" They then shot the panel with their pulse spitter in anger before returning to their starship.
They quickly flew out of the smaller freighter and opened the galaxy map to search for a system with a black hole. As they located a nearby system with a black hole, the hyperdrive was immediately activated and the starship began moving swiftly through a stream of reddish-purple hue. As they waited to exit to their destination, they began modifying their translators in their visor to overclock in preparation for the unknown part of space.
But after a few minutes later, they made it to the intended system, and now a black hole is in front of them. "don't break my ship, don't break my ship" The Traveller murmured while heading straight into the black hole, and the stream of reddish-purple hue is seen once more as they travelled through the black hole. But shortly after, sparks unexpectedly began to emerge in the stream, and a white freighter with four extended arms with a bizarre design appeared alongside it.
Upon seeing the sudden appearance of the freighter, the Traveller was shocked. Before they could properly process what was happening, five strangely built corvettes flew out from the docking bay and were pulled into the vortex. They were separated from each other as they fell out of the stream.
The Traveller, distracted by everything happening around them, was suddenly brought back to reality when multiple warning alerts appeared on the screen of their starship. After closing all of the alerts, the traveller saw what they were notified and noticed that the end of the stream was just black, like a dark void.
In the Castle of Lions, warning alerts are being blasted on their screen panels. Coran is at his station on the bridge as he tries to check problems with the wormhole. "Let's check the Rift Exit Positioning Monitor to see where this wormhole is taking us." He says.
"Coran, look! There appears to be something on the other end. We're heading right toward it!" Allura exclaimed.
"Scanners show that there's no exit. It's just nothingness. Find an exit before we run smack into the void!" Coran informed Allura as he couldn't do anything on his end.
"I can't. I've lost control of the castle." Allura replied as she tried to give commands to the ship, but it did not seem to be responding.
"Brace yourself! We're about to hit it!" Coran announced as Allura closed her eyes and braced for the inevitable and the ship went into the void and everything went back in time for a couple of tick.
A younger Coran is at his station on the bridge as he tries to check problems with the wormhole. "Let's check the Rift Exit Positioning Monitor to see where this wormhole is taking us." He says.
"Coran, we're okay!" Allura said happily as she opened her eyes to see that they were not dead.
"What are you talking about? We've lost all the lions!" Coran replied as he looks back at her confused on what she meant.
"We've just smashed into a black void. Don't you remember-" Allura asked, but she was cut off by an incoming message. Both of them were confused about how someone could be with them in the wormhole, since only they and the Paladins had entered.
Nonetheless, they answered the call and saw a reptilian bird-like creature. "hello, is anyone inside the freighter? I will try to divert you off course with my starship's pulse drive at one hundred percent" The Traveler announced, as Coran was alerted that a small spacecraft was about to ram into them.
The small spacecraft stopped before hitting the shield of the ship. "How can that little thing knock us-" Coran questioned the stranger's message but was cut off when the whole ship felt something large impacted onto hit them. Both Coran and Allura were caught off guard and tumbled down.
As the two recovered from the shock, the blaring warning alerts subsided as the ship went off course and exited the wormhole. Coran looked back to normal and was the first one to recover and stood up. "Quiznak, what in the ruggle was that?!" Coran exclaimed.
The confusion quickly eased, and he looked behind him to see Allura on the floor. "Princess!" Coran shouted in surprise, quickly going to her and helping her up.
"Thank you, Coran." Allura said as she got up with his assistance. As she stood up, she started looking around for the mice, concerned about how they were affected by the impact. She saw them huddled up in the corner of her station and picked them all up. "I'm glad we all made it, but now we have to find the paladins who are sloven-de-hoe missing in the wormhole." she assured herself, thankful that everything had gone well.
After Coran helped Allura, he went back to his station and immediately checked for any damage on the ship. "I don't know how that stranger does it, but he did it in a tick." Coran complimented the stranger for the assist.
"We should thank him later, if we are given the chance to meet again." Allura added as she set down the mice. After doing that, she opened up the control panels to locate the lions.
Back to the Traveller. They were flung to the opposite side of the white freighter, propelled by the shield of that strange freighter. They also exited out of the stream and once again felt their normal mouth on their face as they returned back to their normal self, and not the beak of a gek that they had been transformed into by the dark void.
For a couple of minutes, the Traveller assessed their own body, starship, and exosuit, wondering if there might be any lasting effects from entering the void in the stream. After finishing their assessment, they continued on to systems with black holes in order to eventually track down and confront the uninvited guests, giving them a beating they would not forget.
