Chapter Text
The hallways were quiet as ever.
Too quiet.
The faint muffling noise of the Orchestra in the Great Hall was only heard as Froggydude and Baby Villager walked. No guards in sight– and hell they haven’t really heard from Twixxel– nor Mob in a while. It made Froggydude slightly uneasy, but he brushed it off, knowing that from what their roles were, they were probably distracting now.
As the two walked down the halls, the more eerie and probably cold it got. Baby Villagered shivered from the slight freezing touch as he looked up at the photos in large picture frames. Half of it was Grox and his twisted family, centuries before, and some from a few years ago. Each picture grew more sinister, which just creeped the hell out of Baby Villager to the point he stopped looking at it completely, but still took glances. Froggydude just wished he had that communicator with him now, so he could contact the others as fast as possible. After this major cut of communication, the two had no leads and probably no one looking out for them.
Which was a horrible start after breaking out.
But, for a moment, Baby Villager glanced down this hallway they passed, but immediately froze, stopping in his tracks. He stared down the hall, before he looked back at his daddy, realizing something.
BV: “Wait– Daddy!”
F: “What, Baby Villager?”
BV: “Isn’t that Twixxel??”
That’s when Froggydude stopped dead in his tracks, before quickly running back to where Baby Villager stopped, looking down the same hallway.
There, down the opposite way, was no one other than. .
Twixxel.
But, he looked roughed up. Not as much as they thought, but he seemed like he was in a fight before. He didn’t look relieved as before though, seeming to look almost. . shell-shocked. Bloodstains were visible on his clothing and scarf as he walked down, oblivious from the other two just staring down the hall at him. From Froggydude’s perspective, Twixxel’s body language seemed so. . shaken. Every step looked more rhythmic as he walked, like he was thinking about something. His tail was all the way down though, tucked under the crotch of his legs unlike the active, free personality he had. His arms were crossed, like he was just so muddled up, he couldn’t focus on one thing.
Though, when Twixxel finally noticed the two figures, BV and Froggydude down the hall, his mood slightly lifted, uncrossing his arms as he ran towards them. The sudden shift made Froggydude surprised, as Twixxel finally caught up to the two. Now, with a closer look, Twixxel was definitely roughed up, but the blood on his clothes?
It didn’t really look like it came from him.
F: “Twixxel! Thank god– there you are.”
T: “Where were you two?! Whispy had NO idea where the hell you guys were, and we didn’t know when to distract?”
F: “We. . were in uh. . . in a bad situation.”
BV: “. . we were–”
T: “Y’know what– nevermind. .”
“Did you get the command block?”
The two suddenly grew quiet, looking at each other for a moment, before looking back at Twixxel. Slowly, Baby Villager gulped, before Froggydude sighed.
F: “No. . we didn’t.”
“We got. . well. .”
“Baited.”
Twixxel looked at the two, like they were both idiots, before he frowned. This went downhill– really fast. And, this wasn’t really the idea they all planned out. . Froggydude crossed his arms, knowing that they were in a huge mess, while Baby Villager noticed something.
Mob wasn’t here.
BV: Uh– Mr. Twixxel?”
T: “Huh?”
BV: “What happened to Mob?”
The air grew tense, as the light in Twixxel’s eyes faded a bit. The mention of Mob made him just. . lock up. Though, after a few seconds, Twixxel snapped out of his state, before glancing back down where came from.
T: “. . Something. . happened.”
Those two words weighed heavy in the air as Froggydude and Baby Villager knew what Twixxel meant. Either Mob was captured. .
Or dead.
And, they didn’t want to hear that their new recruit was found dead.
F: “Then– Then we gotta get him? We can’t just leave him in here–”
T: “Froggy– I couldn’t do anything. .”
F: “. . what??”
T: “I–. . Nevermind.”
Baby Villager was gonna open his mouth to talk, but nothing came out as he watched Twixxel’s body language shift.
T: “We. . we have to go.”
BV: “What about the command block??”
T: “No– no. They know that we’re here.”
F: “. . Twixxel’s right. We can’t just jump in there now– we might lose with the amount of people we have now!”
BV: “But– but–. . “
F: “Baby Villager, I know we wanna get Grox as soon as possible– but we don’t even have our main distractor? How are we supposed to even land a hit now? . .
The three stood there, as they thought. .
And thought.
Baby Villager didn’t want to admit it, but his dad was right. Even with how much he wanted to kill Grox, the three couldn’t just go on there and fight. Guests, probably stronger than the 3 combined, plus with the WITHER being there?? That was just asking to be served on a silver platter!
The big question was clear; and the three were stuck in a dead end on their plan.
What were they gonna do?
Were they able to escape?
Would their luck be able to carry all of them back to base to regroup?
Big question, multiple responses from big to small.
And time was running out.
Froggydude pondered for a moment, eyes glancing at Twixxel’s slightly shaken state, before noticing the communicator still on him.
F: “Twixxel. . ?”
T: “. . yeah?”
F: “Can I borrow that thing for a second?”
T: “Sure. .”
Twixxel slowly takes off the communicator, giving Froggydude the wires and radio for it. When Froggydude adjusted the communicator to be on him for a moment, he glanced at Twixxel, just to make sure it was ok, as Twixxel nodded. Without a second thought, Froggydude pressed on the radio, adjusting the small mic to the right setting.
F: [ . . “Ahem– yo! Hey, is anyone on? Over.” . . ]

Meanwhile. .
In the headquarters, Whispy yawned as he scrolled on his phone, going through videos. He snickered at some, cried– you get the deal.
It was boring as hell there.
There was nothing Whispy could do– obviously. He was stuck listening to static, villagers passing by, footsteps outside, and Seawatt’s annoying mumbling to himself. He couldn’t really move out of his spot, unless he wanted to go to the bathroom or something. But, aside from all of that, Whipsy wondered. .
Where the hell was the crew?
How long has it been? An hour– maybe two? Scratch that, the last time that Whispy was contacted was from Mob’s line. Well, he should’ve gotten something from Froggydude by now, but it was just. .
Static.
Maybe he was just overthinking it. I mean– after all. .
He’s gone through enough.
With a small shrug, he went back to watching funny videos on his phone, chuckling at this stupid Gucci Morty photo.
Before. .
£: [ . . “W#)-IPSY! YO! A#Y0N£ ON!-” . . ]
The faint sound of a staticy message filled Whispy’s ears as he almost dropped his phone. His gaze shifted toward the screen, looking at the different lines.
Mob’s. .
Froggydude’s. .
Twixxel’s. . ?
Whispy stared at Twixxel’s line, realizing that the line was currently active– but from that response?? That didn’t sound like Twixxel. It sounded more like Froggydude. He adjusted his mic clearly, putting down his phone before clicking on the mic icon, to speak.
W: [ . . “W– what the fuck?? Froggydude? Isn’t this Twixxel’s line?-” . . ]
F: [ . . “No time to explain– the plan. . backfired. Mob’s gone, and those guards know that we’re here! Over.” . . ]
Whispy felt his heart drop as he heard that Mob was gone, stunned for a moment as his fingers slowly reached for the little mic by the headphones, pulling it closer.
W: [ . . “Well– then get the fuck out of there?! Common sense, fool! Over.” . . ]
Whispy said, stating the obvious, but as he finished speaking, he noticed Seawatt’s frozen figure by his station, looking at the cameras. He didn’t speak, nor actually moved. He just. . stayed frozen, sitting in front of those screens. He seemed to be eyeing a specific camera in particular, which Whispy was curious about looking at. He leaned back on his chair, squinting his eyes at which camera Seawatt was so shell-shocked about. Until he saw it.
The Great Hall Camera.
That one singular camera that Mob placed and angled it toward a clear spot to show the entire room.
And in it?
Whispy dropped everything as his eyes widened in shock.
From the corner of the screen, there was a figure with black hair with a suit and tie, seeming to be carrying another person. A figure that looked still. . too still.
Someone that looked too familiar. .
Mob.
Whispy didn’t hesitate.
W: [ . . “Froggydude, Twixxel, BV. Get out of there. NOW.” . . ]
F: [ . . “Dude– what about the–” . . ]
W: [ . . “JUST GO!” . . ]

And with a wave of static, the line finally stopped as Froggydude stood there, probably creeped out from that whole ass call. He looked at Twixxel and BV, who were confused from what the hell they heard from Froggydude, before hearing a bang coming from the far side of the hall they just went into.
??: “GET BACK HERE!”
Yeah, whoever was that, was NOT friendly.
F: “Yeahh– we out.”
Froggy said, as he grabbed BV’s hand, signaling Twixxel to follow him. The trio ran through the halls, not risking even a second to look back. From at least far behind them, there could be groups of guards trying to locate the rebels.
Froggydude kept his grip on Baby Villager’s hand, not planning to let him go any sooner. Out of anything, he was NOT gonna lose his kid. Twixxel stayed close, keeping his eyes forward and not back. The trio took sharp turns, went through some dead ends, before finally finding the familiar place where they started. Problem was. .
It was still bomb-BARDED with villager servants and guards.
The commotion didn’t seem to spread around the servants yet, but with a short amount of time they had? In a minute, those servants could be loyal to that cunning dictator and snitch ‘em out.
But Twixxel had an idea.
From his inventory, he had potions he kept earlier. Though, the problem was, he lowkey only had two invis potions left. He glanced back at Froggydude and BV, who both seriously need the potions since they are more wanted than him in this fucked up civilization.
T: “Just– take these two invis potions.”
F: “What about you? Are ya able to slip past them that easily? No getting caught?”
Twixxel paused. Slip past them?
If anything– that was what he was good at!
T: “Nah, I’m fine. You two need it more than me, anyway.”
F: “Aight– thank’s dude.”
And with a sip of their potions, the two started to slowly disappear. The duo crouched, stuffing the potions in their pockets. Baby Villager stayed quiet, following Froggydude’s calculated footsteps as the two slipped past the crowd. Luckily, they were able to be undetected, invis potion particles slightly noticeable if you looked closely, but overall they were practically good. Twixxel, however?? He needed to find a way to get to that backdoor without getting caught. Well, Froggydude didn’t say he CAN’T cause havoc. He wondered for a moment, looking at a random potion brewed by Nerd Villager in his hands. Well, whatever goes wrong, can be changed to a possible positive outcome.
With a swig of the mysterious drink, Twixxel waited for something to happen, but honestly. . nothing really did. He didn’t feel any changes to his body, nor felt anything strange. Well, that was until he jumped. For a moment, he felt his body lift up high like he was light as a feather. He was surprised for a moment, as he fell slowly onto the ground. Potion of. . what was that again? Leaping? Oh, he had this in the BAG! Since the backdoors were on the other side, Twixxel had one plan. Since he could technically leap high, like a frog, he could leap onto the other side. Easy, right? But, with a glance up, he saw a slightly small chandelier lighting up the entire hall. Oh shit– he had an even better plan. Taking a few steps back, Twixxel took a deep breath. The potion of leaping lasted at least 5 minutes, and so was that invis potion. So, it was now– or never.
He started to sprint, then slowly ran, running out of that corner as he saw the servant villagers slowly noticing him coming from the right.
Perfect.
The villagers yelped as they saw the unknown man coming down straight toward them. They were about to immediately grab him, but Twixxel knew better. He was able to dodge the few hands trying to snatch him away, before he leaped, jumping over the crowd. Though, his fun wasn’t over. Mid-air, he grabbed onto that chandelier, swinging his body for a moment, before he let go, backflipping like an acrobat before landing on his two feet to the other side. Some villagers were just shocked by what the hell that mysterious intruder did, but some didn’t hesitate to attempt to get him. Unfortunately, Twixxel got away, taking a small bow before slipping into the backdoors, shutting it with a loud slam. The feeling of the cool outdoors brushed Twixxel’s skin as he backed up, letting out a small sigh of relief.
F: “That gotta be the most dramatic thing you did. Good job, acrobat.”
A familiar voice was heard, as Twixxel jolted up in surprise, accidentally leaping slightly in the air before realizing it was just Froggydude and BV’s invisible potion wearing off, leaning by the castle wall to wait for him. Twixxel groaned, as he slightly blushed in embarrassment from the little stunt he did, but BV seemed impressed. He huffed, trying to cover his stupid embarrassment with a cool non-chalance.
BV: “DUDE– THAT WAS. . THE COOLEST THING EVER!”
F: “Gotta hand it to ya for the invis potions. But, that whole stunt you did? Impressive, honestly.”
T: “That? Pft– that was nothing.”
F: “Anyways– I’ve called backup from Whispy, and they’re coming in a few minutes.”
“For now though? We need to get the hell away from this castle.”
BV/T: “Alright!”
BV: “But– Daddy? What about the mission?”
The question remained, as Froggydude stayed quiet for a moment. I mean, the three couldn’t leave the command block behind? That’s the whole point of coming here. But, from Froggydude’s experience? He looked slightly hesitant from the question, scratching the back of his head. He tried to think of an easy explanation, but Twixxel jumped in first.
T: “We. . uh. . need to regroup again, lil dude.”
The simple response seemed to slightly lift up BV’s mood as he smiled cheerfully at the two adults. A singular smile made Froggydude have some type of hope stir in his heart, as he snickered at BV’s sudden happy state. Well, they didn’t lose everything. . yet.
The three were able to get away from the castle, using some rope to get over the walls, and climbed over to the other side. Luckily, there weren’t any guards that were there watching, but honestly? They couldn’t believe they made that out alive! Well, with nothing– but still. While they ran through the patches of grass, they were gonna take a small stop to take a breather, but they all heard the hurried footsteps and yells of guards coming their way, so they straight up bolted into the civilization. Running through the crowds of villagers and packed streets, the three stayed together no matter what, pushing through random people without looking back. But, up ahead, they spotted a random car up ahead, with a rich-looking villager about to leave it. It was like leaving gold out in the open. Without warning, Froggydude ran straight to the car, jumped over the roof, and kicked the rich villager away from the car. He slid inside with ease, slamming the door on him before he could get in.
??: “HEY– OPEN UP!”
F: “And thank you!”
The frogman said, as Baby Villager swiftly opened the backdoors, slipping inside with Twixxel. Once the three were in, Froggydude did NOT hesitate to slam his foot on the accelerator, making the car growl and ZOOM off!
T: “FROGGY— BE CAREFULL—!”
BV: “WOOOOHOOOOOO!!”
The two yelped, as Froggydude locked the fuck in. His foot was basically crushing that accelerator as he swiftly turned the wheel, driving through the streets and going through red lights. Passersby’s stared in shock as that car would practically fly past them, some trying to see who it was, but failed. Others wanted to report it to the castle, but since the celebration was still going, they would’ve done that later.
Froggydude glanced at each mirror, being aware of his surroundings while turning that wheel. He watched the dashboard, seeing the speed increase higher and higher as he drove. Baby Villager didn’t even buckle up, he was star struck by almost everything he witnessed. Twixxel was holding on to the safety bar above the window. The three rode, as they took sharp turns and long paths, seeing the people and the trees zoom past them with ease. Though, when Baby Villager was sat up to check the rear window, he was met with a sight of a few black cars catching up to them. Alerted, he turned to Froggydude, who was already focused.
BV: “uhh— daddy. . We have company. .”
He said, as Twixxel started to notice too from his view.
T: “FROGGYDUDE— KEEP DRIVING!”
BV: “Uhh— DADDY WHAT DO WE DO!?”
The two screamed and panicked, as Froggydude finally snapped out of his thoughts for a moment, looking at the mirror that reflected to his rear window. He slightly huffed, before he realized something.
F: “Baby Villager! Can you try to shoot the cars off? I can open the roof—“
BV: “well— okay daddy. . !”
With a sigh of relief, Froggydude clicked at the machinery beside the mirror, as a thin sheet of fabric slowly unwrapped, revealing a window. Slowly, the window popped open, as Baby Villager checked his inventory, grabbing a whole M134 mini-gun. Twixxel watched, confused on where the hell a baby could obtain a whole fire-arm weapon. Baby Villager climbed up from the glove department in the middle, as he popped his head out from the top of the roof. Once he saw his sights on the cars behind him, he smiled. Mischievously.
BV: “SUUUURRRRRPPRRIISEEEEE!!!”
“IMA GIVE YOU THE MIKE TYSON SPECIAL!”
He yelled, as he lifted up the mini-gun to aim. Without hesitation, he fired. Many shots. He aimed for the three cars, bullets firing at their side mirrors and windshields. The kid giggled as he ruthlessly watched one of the black cars blow up, leaving only two. Twixxel was too stunned to speak honestly. Whoever they brought with them was apparently King fucking Von.
After a few moments, the cars started to leave the kid’s vision as they slowly disappeared in the trees. Baby Villager finally stopped firing, making him go down and back to his seat, where he shoved the minigun back into his inventory. He sat by the right side of the back seat, humming to himself as he watched the window, leaving Twixxel thinking this kid is insane.
T: “Di— do— do you just?—“
F: “oh yeah— this is normal by the way.”
T: “W—what??”
F: “Just don’t question it. .”
Froggydude ends the conversation, as he keeps his eyes on the road. Twixxel could only sit in his seat and watch the window pass by the trees. Who knew a baby knew how to use a mini-gun? Who knows? Maybe Froggydude trained him. In other words, Twixxel shrugged it off as the rest of the ride went on.
