Chapter Text
~<>———————————————- ———————————<>~
How do I approach you?
You’re so worn, and it’s all because of me.
I’ve been a issue for you, for myself for too long.
You were never supposed to love me.
I was never supposed to love you to this extent.
But you kept edging me on, making me hear your sweet praises.
How am I supposed to understand your sweetness?
To comprehend that you actually do care for me to some degree?
I thought I wasn’t capable of being loved.
I think for the first time in a long while, I feel love again. I don’t know if I really hate it or not.
It’s such a lively emotion, I really don’t know how to handle it.
Can you just come back and start telling me you love me again? So then I can skip all the embarrassment and just laugh at you instead while my heart simultaneously does jumping jacks in an attempt to understand?
It’s so complex, how do I figure you out?
Is this what you’ve been doing with me? Overthinking until you come up with a strategy or an answer.
Im such a coward I can’t even confess to someone who’s literally head over heels for me already?
Im too used to being sick and greedy. How do I share kindness? Thats so stupid, I might be a moron. It’s a genuine question, though.
I wonder if you could teach me.
Teach me how to feel?
…how I feel doesn’t matter. I need to find a way to see you again.
Could I sneak into your office again?
I mean…I could.
Telamon, we are such idiots.

The same window had been left as before.
Almost concerning how they manage to leave themselves at a constant risk.
But it was a good sign for Chance at least.
Having to swerve around patrols and cameras was already enough. Too much to be doing just to talk to the literal boss of the place.
If only he had as much control as the name ‘boss’ suggests.
Some sort of unnerving weight was left on his shoulder as he sweeped over the open window, landing on the floor with an overly dramatic barrel roll. He dusted off his shoulders, yet it didn’t take away the feeling of something pulling him down.
Tensing his arms as he stayed focused. His eyes locked on the hallway ahead.
The last chance he had to prove he could be different.
Each step taken precisely and speedily. The sound of other soldiers conversing through rooms being drowned out by Chance’s own constant train of thought.
Try his best to keep cover from any passers roaming the halls.
The patter of his shoes hitting the ground stopped for a second.
His eyes glancing toward the room where he’d saved Guest 1337 from. He really got caught up in all of my mess. Just because he cared about me, he suffered for it. Am I really ready to share that burden with someone else?
The first time he even laid his eyes on this place. Thinking he wouldn’t have to face these internal feelings again.
That’d it just pass by, like the rest.
Yet here he was. Not even able to comprehend how to speak three simple words.
How do you even attempt this? How do I tell you I love you when I’ve been denying it for so long?
I don’t even know how to love.
I really don’t.
And damn it, it’s so ironic I’m attempting to love you pure after all of this.
After you’ve probably cried over me.
I am a horrible person for that. It isn’t debatable.
Maybe I can fix it? Chance let out a hoarse laugh. Rocking his head backward with his palms over his eyes.
All that runs through his head is the idea of his idiocy.
How could he wait this long to finally understand himself?
After given multiple opportunities, denying and refusing.
Now, only now after cutting ties completely does he find himself padding down the floor of this compound again. On route to the same office he swore he’d never step in again.
His contemplation was cut short by the sound of four voices treading his way.
The voices of which he was familiar with.
His eyes darted toward almost every corner of the hallway, trying to think of a feasible hiding spot. Then again, it was just a straight down hall, the only corner being where the four were coming from.
The goon with a white ushanka hat seemed to skip forward, making Chance freeze in his place.
Before he could even retreat backward, Soldier cracked an eye open, then two.
The blue man rubbed his eyes, trying to gauge if he was truly seeing Chance.
“How could you think I’m not real? Are you a damn schizo??” Chance rudely blurted, scrunching up half his face in judgment.
Crossing my his arms mockingly.
“A—wha—no! I jus—“ He squabbled to justify himself, waving his hands around.
“Aye! Bory’s who the hell are you talkin’ to??” A voice interjected, the owner being Caporegime.
Chance stood idle half intrigued, half unsure on how to get himself out of what he had already started.
Consigliere lit up at the end for he hallway, a face of outrage.
“That’s that guy that was paid to kill our boss! Go get him!” He pointed orderly.
“Oh! That’s where I remember his face from—“
“Soldier stop being a ditz and go get ‘em!” Caporegime commanded, extending his baton.
Chance threw his hands up in defense, frantically waving them around. “Wow—Wow! We can talk about this!”
Contractee lifted his wood board weapon up like a pitchfork, speeding up increasingly.

“…you really don’t have to do that y’know! Ha…ha!”
“What? You don’t want us to call backup?” Consigliere held onto his sword firm, eventually tucking it on his side before pulling out a clipboard.
“Don’t cha’ think your boss would wanna kill me himself?” The grey Robloxian tried to reason, in that sarcastic voice of his.
“Ain’t that my job anyway?” Contractee spoke while keeping his eyes focused on his shoes, hands in his pockets.
“Well uh, y’know… what about revenge n’ all.” He tilted his head, trying to look for a way to escape all four of them.
“Ehh, we don’t have to call any of the other workers. All the other soldiers are busy anyway.” Caporegime sighed, folding his arms over his head as he walked nonchalantly.
“Straight to the boss he goes?” Soldier asked for confirmation.
“We can’t leave them alone. As much as I trust the Boss I’m not taking risks.” Consigliere tapped on the clipboard in his hands, clicking a pen onto the smooth wood.
“Awe cmon, I haven’t hurt you four yet.” Chance raspily chuckled, not helping his case.
“… I don’t think that you’d attempt a fight against four people.”
Contractee spoke from far behind, not bothered enough to catch up with the other three.
“Coulda’ shot one of ya straight in the arm..” he grumbled in response.
He struggled with his hands tied behind his back, almost reaching out to bite Soldier dead on his finger, earning a yelp as he reclined back.
“Caporegime, keep him restrained.” Consigliere gave a serious glare, too ingrained in work to care for Chance’s aggression.
“Will do!” Caporegime scoffed to himself before pushing Chance forward in a rough manner.
“Keep your hands off me freak.”
Chance unlatched his jaw, just ready to sink his teeth into the blue man’s left arm before his attention was taken abruptly.
The sound of a shoe hitting the floor brought him out of his attempt at biting Caporegime’s digit clean off.
The familiar sound of those shoes.
“No need to be so feisty, Chance” his voice bounced off the walls, that sound he had been searching for.
It was like in that moment, everything stopped.
A feeling of relief that whisked away every bit of anger boiling in his blood.
He almost smiled, too wide to fool the henchmen that were supposed to be holding him captive.
The sight of Mafioso trotting his way was enough to mute all the noise.
The mere sound of his voice was enough for all four of the men to straighten their postures and dust off their suits.
“Boss! We found em! The guy that was working for them!” Caporegime pushed Chance in front like he was a presentation.
Chance scowled at him, his eyes shooting bullets through Caporegime’s blue forehead.
“Yes, thank you four for your service. You’re all dismissed.” The mobster simply grinned at them. His usual giddiness, except you could tell he really was trying his best to hide it.
“Huh?” Soldier cocked his head to the side, as if a question mark was beside his head.
“I’ll take him.” Mafioso nodded, as if expecting them to understand.
“What? Boss— “ Consigliere extended his hand in confusion.
“We were gonna bring him into the basement for holding—“ he continued, dabbing the clipboard with the pen in his hand, smudging ink onto the paper.
“Yes, thank you for returning him.” The mob boss practically ignored him.
“Returning—?!” Chance barked, a snarl on his mouth.
“Ah, uh- detaining him.” Mafioso stumbled over his words.
“I’ll take it from here.”
He swiftly moved to Chances side, grabbing onto both his banded wrists and pulling him forward. Charging down the hall with some unspoken urgency.
“Eugh— get your grubby ass hands off me!” Chance
“Chance, calm down. You act as if I’m …” The noise of his conversation started to fade and grow more and more quiet as they reached his office.
Till it was incomprehensible aside from some low mutters.
“…”
“Cons, surely you can explain that interaction.” Contractee scratched his head.
“…No…I can’t.”

The room felt like it was closing in on itself. The walls shrinking with every second he just spent staring.
Staring at him, Mafioso. Who returned the glare, a deep purple blush coating his face.
Expected from him.
He couldn’t think straight. What could he possibly say?
“…you came back.”
His head downturned, focus on the blue petals scattered across his desk.
Another beat passed.
“…”
“I did…” Chance spoke hushed, as if it was hard to admit.
The words caught against his lips.
“Thank you— Thank you so much—.”
The man fell forward, lifting Chance’s hands into his, an overjoyed expression.
“Stop it, Maf’ stop it.” He shoved the mobster away roughly.
“Please, just let me praise you, dear.”
Mafioso persisted, reaching for Chance, insisting.
“No—“
His blue fingers raised to caress his cheek.
“I missed you. So much…” A tattered and hopeless voice.
Chance whipped his head away, slapping his fingers away from his face.
“No- can’t you just care about yourself too?” Chance raised his voice, just above a shout.
He stuttered, like a computer processing information. Trying to comprehend what Chance could possibly be asking of him.
“I don’t matter right now-you… you’re all that matters. I love you.“
…
“Damn it, Maf… This is why we couldn’t work in the first place.”
That seemed to cause both of them to freeze in their spots.
“…”
“Look, I don’t care if-“ More desperation.
“I do, I care, listen to me.” Every word was enunciated.
As if he could drill the meaning into his head.
“I don’t want to hurt people anymore.” Chance’s voice dropped, reluctant.
“…”
Mafioso looked off to the side, considering.
“…Fine.”
“I don’t want your desperation I want…I want… your love.” Chance bit his cheek, clicking his tongue before letting the words slip past him.
A pause hit the room, feeling like there wasn’t enough air circulating through the vents.
It always seemed like it was at the edge of his tongue.
Those delicate words, I love you.
So true to say, yet so far from easy.
“…Me too. I want all of it if I may…”
“…”
Chance stood still, his attention on the corner of the room. Contemplating.
“I’ll love you. If ya can care for yourself too...” he rasped, a lump forming in his throat.
“…Do I really have to? It’s not that important to me.” Mafioso tried retorting.
“If you keep on neglectin’ yourself for me I’m just gonna leave again.” He huffed, tossing his head away in the opposite direction. Gritting his teeth as he waited for Mafioso to respond.
“…”
“I presume… you’re right.”
“…I’ll try. I’ll try to love you correctly, Chance.”
Maybe, we can.
Chance stared at him from across the room, arms crossed in hesitation. But that didn’t stop the mob boss from sauntering pass the room and going face to face again.
The bunny held onto Chance’s shoulders, keeping him still. He leaned over to place kisses all over the grey man’s face. Pressing his lips over his cheeks, and forehead. Making Chance tense before melting into the soft adoration.
Chance didn’t know how to speak, but Mafioso’s display of affection was enough to speak for both of them.
A misshapen grin took on Chance’s expression. Unsure and new. Before he took a deep breath, exhaling as if preparing for something.
He forced Mafioso against a wall, pinning him effectively.
The inverted shade covering the blue man’s eyes lifted momentarily, revealing exhilarated turquoise eyes. His white hair feathered against the wall.
The man’s hands raised to cup Chance’s face, an intense amount of love in every touch.
“I love you Mafioso, damn it I really do.” He huffed, a hot puff of air touching the blue man’s skin.
His eyebrows furrowed, in a strange feeling of concern. Like everything could go wrong in this very moment.
“Don, call me Don, my love.”
“…”
“I love you Don.” He almost choked on his words, trying his absolute best to keep himself composed. His heart hammering against his chest. Feeling like he might implode.
“Ha..ha. I love you more, my sweet.” Mafioso dipped closer, pressing more tender kisses to the shorter man’s temples.
“I love you, I love you so much.” Every syllable filled with enjoyment.
The grey man pushed forward, squishing the blue bunny against the wall.
Capturing the other in a passionate kiss. His palms on his shoulders as he smushed himself against Mafioso. Anything to get the sweet relief of his cold skin.
Vice versa, the warmth of Chance’s body was everything the light haired man could dream of.
The both of them moved with a hunger that neither could satisfy. Yet the feeling of their lips on each others was enough to bring a sense of peace.
Chance tilted his chin, biting on the others lip before slipping his tongue into Mafioso’s mouth. The man seemed to smile from the connection, bringing Chance closer by the pull of his hand on the grey man’s back.
They moved almost synchronized, too lost in the victory of the moment to fall out of attention.
The feeling of so much warmth and chill mixing together along with excitement.
So worth it, so rewarding.
Everything felt natural. As if they truly were meant for eachother.
What was supposed to be a simple kiss ended up lasting much longer. With both of them deepening the feeling of intimacy, gripping harder and closer with every movement.
It might’ve been desperation, it truly could’ve been.
But that didn’t matter to either.
The feeling of their tongues brushing up against one another was enough to keep them in a drunken haze of apathy. Closed eyes and simply the feeling of touch against each others bodies.
In the moment, it might’ve been worth it.
Every night spent in burning pain.
Every day spent in cold isolation.
It really was.
Chance pulled back from the heat of their mouths upon one another, muttering a low whisper.
“I hate you so much.”
The other seemed to light up at that, letting out a hushed purr.
The shade of purple on Mafioso’s skin was a complimenting lavender. Enough to show the utter contentedness flowing through every vein in his body. His gaze affixed on his one and only, Chance.
“Words can’t explain how much I adore you dear.” Mafioso’s fingertips moved to trace the scar on the grey man’s face, just under his left cheek.
His eyes roaming every inch of his beloved’s face. From the diamond tattooed to his skin, to the purple-blue eyes that laid underneath those white tinted glasses.
Perfection weaved into every patch of skin.
His fingers lifted off his shades, showing the purple color that laid beneath.
Chance’s eyes kept still, purple staring into pure turquoise.
His blue digits fell toward the small ponytail he’d tied his hair into, pulling out the band.
Something about Chance’s short hair being free made him so much more beautiful than Mafioso could ever begin to describe. The tiredness in his eyes, his loose and improper hair, the hesitation in his body.
It was everything.
His fingers combed through Chance’s hair, admiring. A pure smile on both of their faces.
Before he could even comprehend it, Chance had already placed his lips back onto his own. Moving farther with every touch, passing second, and breath. Desperate attempts for breath turning into pants as neither wanted to break apart.
The way they pressed against one another was as if they wanted to meld into each other, be one coherent being.
Small murmurs of breathy sweet nothings.
A shared desire, that didn’t feel so malicious.
Perfection in its very definition.
The night continued on with a feeling of shared passion and love.
Finally, the happy ending they had been waiting for.
Maybe not free of mistakes, but enough to be considered flawless.
So much desperation at once, but so much love at the same time.
Something earned.
“I love you, dumbass.”
