Chapter Text

The house is bubbling with laughter from his three children, and Aizawa can’t take his eyes away from the happy display in front of him.

Hitoshi, quite literally, tosses Eri from across the room and into Shouto’s awaiting arms. Said girl screams while in the air, only giggling when she’s safely in Shouto’s arms. He spins in a circle and Eri simply giggles more, the word “Shouto,” barely breaking through her laughter.

Aizawa smiles; his small family has come a long way since they were removed from the toxic environment they were in. He first hand watched their calculated responses turn quick and witty, unafraid of being punished for what they say. He watched their personalities shift from stoic to something more confident and happier.

He watched Shouto learn to be more comfortable with who is was.

He watched Hitoshi as he begun to start asking questions without fear.

He watched Eri laugh.

He feels a presence next to him and leans into the warmth instinctively.

“I wouldn’t mind having another one,”

At this, Aizawa jerks at the suggestion. Tearing his gaze away from his kids to look at Hizashi, but Hizashi doesn’t look at him back, continuing to watch Shouto, Eri and Hitoshi.

“What?”

“Another one?” Hizashi now turns to face Aizawa with a smile, “I wouldn’t mind adopting another kid. A baby, maybe?”

“You want another one?”

“I say we’d do a good job,” Hizashi then winks at Aizawa, who merely scoffs with a small smile.

“I’ll think about it,”

“Oh,” Hizashi smirks, bringing his lips towards Aizawa’s ear and saying lowly, “That means yes,”

He pulls back and laughs at Aizawa angered look. He did hate how well Hizashi could read through him.

The two settle back into watching the three of them roughhouse together, when Hizashi speaks again.

“They really are a gift,” he states, his voice full of love and admiration to his three kids. Aizawa can’t argue, because they are. Shouto, Hitoshi and Eri are their children. Their gifts.

“Yeah,” Aizawa finally agrees, with a smile.

“Shouto!” Eri singsongs, “are you ticklish?”

“Absolutely not,”

“That means he is,” Hitoshi’s voice teases, “Get him, Eri!”

Hitsohi!”

Hizashi and Aizawa chuckle.

Their gifts, indeed.

"This gift will last forever.

This gift will never let you down.

Some things are made from better stuff.

This gift is ready to be found,”
