Chapter Text
Eijirou and Katsuki laid in their bed, cuddled together in their bed, enjoying the quiet of the morning. Today was the redheaded kings 30th birthday, and he planned to spend the day just laying around, doing absolutely nothing.
“DADDY! PA! Wake up!” Eijirou and Katsuki were hit by a 20 kilogram ball of red hair and smiles. Followed by a blonde 14 kilogram girl.
The lovely, eloquent man cuddling EIjirou gracefully responded to the attack with a soft, “Fucking christ!” Which in turn got him a whap to the head and a “Watch your mouth.”
“Papa!” little blonde Akane laughed, nearly rolling off the bed. Thank the gods for Katsuki and his quick reflexes, as he caught her right before she fell.
The man laughed seeing his daughter look in awe at his reflexes. “Be careful, Sparkles.”
“Okay, Papa!”
“Hey Dad!” The couples son, Crimson the Second, called from his position on the younger parents stomach, bouncing up and down. “What are we gonna do for your birthday? Can we go to see Grandma and Grandpa? Or maybe see Gramps? Can we? Can we?”
Eijirou rubbed his eyes. Izuku had warned him about the sinister sixes, but this was some next level trouble. “Maybe…” There was a loud cheer of excitement from the two children, followed by a loud cry from the crib near the bed.
“I’ll get it.” Katsuki said, Akane clinging onto him and riding his back as he made his way to the 6 month old crying in the crib.
Katsuki picked up Mitsuki out of the crib. The little boy was just like the blondes mother, loud and made sure you knew his presence. He also kept Katsuki and Eijirou on their toes.
Eijirou remembers the day they found Mitsuki. They had been out on a private date in a town a 30 minute ride away when they passed an orphanage. It was common courtesy to go and visit the children, so they did. The couple were surrounded by a dozen smiling children who all seemed pretty pleased with life. (It had been one of their first orders when they came to rule that orphanages get all the funding they need.) One thing that they noticed a little after entering was just the must heartbreaking wail from one of the newer babies there. The wail belonged to a little orange haired boy who was sick, but no one knew what to do. Katsuki and Eijirou shared one look before adopting that child and taking them to the royal doctor who diagnosed it as a severe cold. After a bit of intense care and some good medicine, Mitsuki was a fully functional diva baby who hated when the attention was not on him.
The obviously adopted the right baby for the family.
Not long after they decided to go to town, Eijirou and Katsuki got caught playing the dance of “For the love of… Can you please just put on your clothes so we can go?” Starring Akane, the little wiggle worm who was very adamant about not wanting to wear anything other than her pyjamas. After what felt like an eternity of Eijirou chasing his daughter around her very large room with clothes in hand, he finally caught her and got her into her favorite red dress with a big puffy skirt.
Katsuki, holding little Micchan in his arms, and Crimson waited by the servant exit while this all occurred.
“Thank you so much for helping.” said Eijirou, voice dripping in sarcasm.
Katsuki gave his husband a look and said, “I was taking care of the baby. Crimson, what’s your excuse?”
“Akane never listens to me, so my presence would have made no difference.”
Eijirou laughed. “Kat, he may genetically be mine, but he acts more like you. That means you had better watch your mouth more. I don’t want him picking up on it anytime soon.”
Katsuki chuckled, nodded, then ruffled Crimoson’s hair, which got him a little pat on the hand.
They walked down the now familiar dirt road to the town, Crimson and Akane had fun running down and back in some crazy game of pretend in a world only they can see.
Katsuki, shifting so he can hold Mitsuki in his right arm, reached over and grabbed the redheads hand with his other arm. “I vote that we leave those two sillies with the parents then get away for a little bit.”
“We should probably leave Micchan with your mom. She sure has been desperate to meet him, and my dad hasn’t gotten to meet him either.”
“I guess you’re right…”
Removing his hand from the others, Eijirou wrapped his arm around Katsuki and Mitsuki. “You act as if this wittle cutie patootie doesn’t live with us.”
The glare that comment received was one that reminded EIjirou that, even after all of his progress, old Katsuki was still going to be a grouch, especially when it was time for bed.
The town was a little more put together than it used to be, especially Present Mic’s Tavern, which has gotten a lot of anonymous donations. Jirou’s band still regularly performed, but not as much as they used to because they got really popular and toured to other nations as well as Luxuria.
Mitsuki, Masaru, and Crimson the first were all in one of their favorite restaurants. Crimson 2 and Akane squealed with delight at the sight of their grandparents. King Crimson picked up the little girl and whirled her around, causing her to scream and giggle.
Mitsuki was hugging the life out of the youngest redhead of the bunch. Masaru, who was smiling while the scene unfolded, noticed the little bundle in Katsuki’s arms waved them over. The man hugged his son gentle, then asked, “Can I hold him? If your Mom sees him I will never get a chance until he’s 18.” Once he got hold of the child, it became apparent to Eijirou where Katsuki got his gentle side.
It took Mitsuki a solid 5 minutes to realize that little Mitsuki was also present. Once she did though, all hell broke loose. She started cooing and trying to hold the baby, but was stopped by Katsuki who was saying something along the lines of he didn’t fucking trust her with a small baby. She tried to disprove this but he already had the story of when she dropped him and he was only still alive and well because Masaru caught him.
In the end, Mitsuki was not allowed to hold baby Micchan, which she was very pissed about. Deeming that the baby would be safe while they were gone, Eijirou lead Katsuki out and into the semi-busy market.
They stopped by Inko Midoriya’s stand that was selling a lot of corn salad, which she states “Grows everywhere in the fall” so they bought a few bushels for dinner tonight, which the children will not appreciate. Inko, Katsuki and Eijirou all went on about the kids, the green haired lady talking about how big Touya and Hisashi had gotten and how Touya still loved dancing and was the best fencer in the palace.
They then went to say hi to Kaminari and Sero who were drinking at the tavern, the Kirishima’s didn’t join them, but still had a fun conversation about how busy the main town had gotten. Also Kaminari’s new crush on some guy in one of the villages farther out.
Around noon, the blonde and redhead headed out to their meadow and sat in the clearing. Over the years the place had not changed too much. The path and clearing were more defined, but that was only because the two visited the place whenever they could be alone. They never brought the kid here because this was their place, and would be until they were old and grey.
“You know,” started Katsuki, “I knew it was you when I first saw you. I wasn’t stupid. Anyone would have recognized you, especially when you looked so much like your mother.”
Eijirou looked at the other, “What?”
The blonde sighed and leaned back. “Your mom and my mom were best friends. Maeko was a common occurrence in the kitchen, she was like Inko is to me, an aunt. Your mom brought you a few times, you and I were 5 at the time, and you were just so amazed at everything. I think I might have pushed you around, but Deku stopped me from doing anything more. You did not care. You smiled and tried to befriend me for hours. I finally gave in. But a bit after that, Maeko came in furious saying that the noble fucking banned you from coming down with her. They said it was “unsightly” for you to try and befriend a lowly servant.
“My Old Hag was pissed, but didn’t do anything because she wanted you mom to able to visit us still. I always will remember when you sneaked down one last time, you talked and talked about how boring royal life was, but all I could think was “Why the fuck are you down here?”” The two laughed and moved closer to the stream. “Then she died. My mom was angrier than I had ever seen her. SHe told me that it was so stupid that such a nice lady had to die for no fucking reason other than some stupid cells going haywire. We didn’t get any noble visitors anymore. You were the only one other than the old King who could have made it to the kitchen during a party.”
Eijirou just looked at him, no one really mentioned the old queen, not even his father. It happened when he was 10, so he didn’t really understand what happened to her until later. Katsuki seemed to have been more mature than anyone that young should have been. “Why did you say I was Kaminari then?”
“You sounded panicked. Only someone who was scared would have run away from their birthday party to a place they had only visited a few times 13 years before. I decided to play it like I would if a stranger had come in because that’s what you wanted. I got worried when you introduced yourself by your real name. I thought you meant that you wanted to be seen as a prince and I just called you Shitty Hair. Mom didn’t recognize you until you until you introduce yourself. I think she tried to block your mom out of her mind because she got sad whenever she thought about her.” Eijirou’s sadness at his words must have shown because Katsuki quickly followed with, “But now you make her happier than fucking ever. You’re like her damn son now and she will treat you better than her real one because fuck bloodlines.” Katsuki may have sounded angry, but his red eyes were just filled with happiness.
“When I saw you. My brain short circuited. I think I remembered you a bit, subconsciously of course. That’s probably why I ran there, I must have remembered that it held the most handsome man in the universe and his nice mom.”
“Whatever you say, Shitty Hair.”
They leaned on each other, just enjoying the silence.
“Do you think we should go save our kids from your mom?”
“Fuck yeah.”
The End
