He found his soulmate. His soulmate. And they were hurt.
Well, of course they were hurt, but...
He shot his soulmate.
Of all the ways...actually between combat zones and active cases it was probably highly likely find his soulmate injured by a bullet. But still...he shot his soulmate.
With an empty gun.
It was empty, he knew it was. Even if he fired every bullet he still opened the chamber and checked. It was standard procedure. He did it every single time.
There was no one else there. No one else who could have fired the shot.
And for him, it wasn’t a physical hurt, no wound, bruise or scar, just the blow to his ego of being suspended while he was investigated for shooting his soul mate.
God, what a mess.
But, he was pretty.
So pretty.
Adorable.
And his eyes were open again, so beautiful, deep brown and focused on Ian’s face, his lips.
They should kiss. Really, he shot his soulmate he should kiss him and apologize.
“I’m sorry. So sorry....I cleared the chambers there shouldn’t have been a round in the gun.”
“It’s okay. It’s soulmates. I’m not dead. It only hurt a little.”
“It will hurt for some time.”
“It’s just my foot?”
“I’m Ian. I’m your soulmate and I shot you.”
“Charlie. Your soulmate. Don’t do it again.”
“I promise. I will never hurt you again.”
“Okay. Good. That sounds good. I could use a kiss.”
“I think I could too.”
So they kissed. Ian ran his fingers through the unruly curls. He shot his soulmate.
No one would ever let him live this down.
