“Muskh,” Ra’s said, monster, hand on his shoulder at his mother’s long-due funeral. “She would have been proud of you.”
Damian grinned, bared his teeth, and looked down at his grandfather. “She would have rather killed me. Muskh is not my name.” He spit, and then walked away.
Ichor. Ambrosia. Immortality. Gods die when you stop believing in them.
There is always more to be done. He gets to do it his way. There are weeks that he doesn’t put on the suit. He has been so many things; a monster is one of them. He will be many more things; a hero isn’t one.
