Chapter Text
Author's note: Hey everyone, now I mentioned on Tumblr how I had a new idea I haven't personally seen myself, and here it is. I hope you all enjoy this new fic!
Hisashi was skinning his latest kill, the fur to be used for new clothes for his son, who was growing so fast. His son in question was sitting nearby, watching his with wide green eyes, taking in everything his father was doing. Hisashi motion for his son to approach. Little Izuku smiled and jumped over, climbing on to his father’s back, giggling and peered down at his father’s work. Hisashi patted the floor, so Izuku let go and sat next to him, and Hisashi began to show him how to skin his kills.
Izuku watched his father happily, he loved watching his father working and all the others of their small tribe. He wanted to work just as hard when he was bigger and strong enough too.
Izuku froze as his father push a sharp stone knife into his hand, Izuku could feel excitement bubbling up. With his father guiding his hand, they skinned the rest of the beast. Hisashi showed his son how to fold the skin before once again guiding his hand to cut the meat. Inko watched her lover and son worker together, spying the beaming smile on Izuku’s face as he helped brought her joy. She went over and collected the skins, they both needed new clothes, and she wanted to surprise them with the gift.
That night, after all had eaten, Hisashi lifted his son on to his back and took him on a walk. Izuku looked around the scenery as they walked, his father began to climb, getting to higher places.
It took a while, Hisashi got to the top of a cliff, the snow was soft underfoot as Hisashi got Izuku down. The boy looked up, his eyes widening in awe. Above him the sky was open, a dark majestic blue, as stars shone brightly. He turned to his father excitedly, Hisashi smiled and softly grunted at his son, pointing up at sky. Izuku climbed back on to his fathers shoulders and tried to reach for the stars. Hisashi smiled, remembering he did the very same thing with his father.
They remained up there for a while, but when Izuku began to doze off, Hisashi held him close as he made his way back down. They got back to their cave and lay down beside Inko, who was fast asleep, she woke slightly as they came back, but soon as asleep again.

For Izuku, time passed so quickly, and he was soon being tested by his tribe. His first hunting trip alone. It was scary, his father looked at him proudly and gave him a bone spear. With a small nod, Izuku was allowed to go off.
Izuku readied his spear in his hand as he crouched low, as he watched his target, A mammoth. His father had assured him it was his time to take his first hunt. He was nervous, of course he was. He was bring home food for the first time. The snow was cold beneath his feet, but he was used to the cold at this point, there was no escaping it when it was their world.
Izuku remembered when he had snuck off to watch the tribe hunt, how they had taken out a group of the creatures together, how his father had bravely taken one himself, it was a rite of passage for all the young of the tribe, to show they would provide for the whole group. Izuku promised himself to be the best, he would grow to lead them after all, he would lead them as well as his own father did.
Izuku slowly made his way round to the back of the creature and climbed to higher ground. He watched the Mammoth making its way to the narrow pass. Izuku knew that would be a good place to start. He got ahead and waited on the cliff above. He would attack from that point, if he could get on its back, he would be able to go for the head.
It was hard and the Mammoth put up a fight, but Izuku soon won the fight. He stood by his first kill panting heavily, his spear still clenched in his fist. He glanced up when he heard something
He looked at his father and tribe approaching please. His mother ran over and embraced him happily. Izuku accepted it, the rest of the tribe joined the embraced him. All together they worked on skinning the creature and packing up cuts of the meat into wraps made from its skin.
Hisashi worked on getting off the tusks and presented them to Izuku as a trophy of his kill. Izuku accepted them happily.

The years seemed to be endless to Izuku, he watched the sky silently, his home was silent, it had been for a while. The last mammoth had been hunted a while ago, maybe it had been a long time ago. He wasn’t completely sure. He sighed and he once again surveyed his surroundings and to where a stag. Its antlers were large. Izuku nodded to himself and readied his mammoth tusk spear, that once belonged to his father, it remained as useful as ever, even if the wood had to be replace every year or so, or whenever he came across a stronger piece to use.
With practiced ease, he took down his hunt, carrying it over his shoulder back to his home where he set upon skinning the creature and this one had a purpose that was not his food, he still had some in storage. He made packages of meat, wrapped in the skin and carried them outside.
He placed the wrapped meat onto the graves of his tribe, who had long left him, and placed an antler each on his mother and father’s places. Izuku bowed his head sadly, he missed them more then he could ever express. With a sad look at his tribe, he left to hunt once more, his fruit stores were low, and he needed to see if the trees had anymore fruit fresh to pick.
