Chapter Text
Elena is a vampire. Nik is gone. And the town feels like it's on look down, due to the mob of people going on a vampire hunt. Currently I'm with Caroline, she thinks that if she stays with a 'human friend' that the council of hunters won't get her, and she doesn't care about my relationship with Nik.
I was helping Caroline pack up staff for her to leave town. As I met her downstairs her phone rings. "Mom! Hey." Caroline says as we walk towards the front door. "Where am I? Good question. Uh, just a whole lot of boring highways. Why? is everything okay?" Caroline asks her mom as we walk out of the front door.
Suddenly both Caroline and I were grabbed by some guys. They inject us with something, causing Caroline to pass out but not me. They must of given us vervain. "Hey! Let us go!" I shout at the guys. The two guys nod to one another and the one holding me slams my head into the door, knocking me out.

I groan as I wake up, looking around to where I am. Across from me sat Caroline and Rebekah, tied up. We were in some van. I look down and see that I'm tied up as well. "What the hell?" I say, struggling in the ropes.
"Looks lie Alaric outed as all to the council." Caroline tells Rebekah.
"The council... What exactly do they think they can do to me?" Rebekah questions confused.
"And why do they want me?" I ask confused. I am human, sort of. Technically harmless to them compared to vampires.
Suddenly the van jerks and the glass from the windows break and go everywhere, the van begins to roll. Once we stop moving we all groan from the impact. I'm glad we're tied up to our spots otherwise that would of hurt a lot more. The van was on it's side, Caroline and Rebekah were now, technically below me, my legs dangling in the air.
"What the hell happened!?" Rebekah shouts in pain.
Then the back door of the van were ripped open, revealing Tyler. "Tyler?" Caroline and I question confused, he's supposed to be dead.
"I'm harder to kill then you think." Tyler says, ripping Caroline out from her restrains then helps me down, and out of the ropes.
"You're alive?" Caroline questions getting emotional. "How are you alive?" she questions as Tyler ripped open the chains that were on her legs.
"No time. Come on. We have to go." Tyler tells her, we help her up, as we hear a sirens.
"Wait, what about me?" Rebekah questions as Tyler guides Caroline and I out. Caroline grabs me and speeds us into the woods. Tyler following.
As soon as Caroline sees Tyler, she kisses him, hard. "I never thought I'd see you again! I don't get it. How are you alive?" Caroline questions.
"This is going to sound incredible, bu-" before Tyler could finish, Caroline kisses him again, making me now feel uncomfortable.
Caroline begins to try, and take off Tyler's jacket. But Tyler stops her. Caroline looks at him confused "I figured I was going to be kissed but not by you love." Tyler says, looking over at me.
"Wait did you just call me love?" Caroline asks, letting go of Tyler.
"I don't know love, did I?" Tyler says to her, causing her to back away.
"Nik?" I whisper in disbelief. Tyler looks over at me again, and smirks.
"Hello love. Miss me?" Nik says to me causing me to gasp lightly.
Caroline wasn't to keen on Nik being in Tyler's body, "What the hell did you do to Tyler?" Caroline asks, hitting on 'Tyler's' chest.
"Listen, I didn't have to risk exposure to come save you." Tyler/Nik tells her annoyed that she's angry.
"Oh, you do one semi-decent thing and now you're my hero? Ugh! I need to go sanitize my mouth." Caroline groans, and complains.
"Your mouth was all over mine. I was an innocent victim." Nik/Tyler tells her poking fun at her.
"Put Tyler back." Caroline demands.
"Gladly. Then I can kiss my girl and not Tyler's." He tells her then walks over to me.
"You're not dead?" I whisper questions him, still not believing its him.
"A pesky little hunter can't get rid of me." He tells me, the smirk still on his face. "Lets go put me back in my body." He says to me then speeds us away.

Nik has been trying to get Bonnie to fix the whole body issue. "She said she's not strong enough." Jeremy tells Nik in defense of Bonnie.
"Let me help her Nik." I try and negotiate. Nik looks at me, and shakes his head no then looks back over to Bonnie.
"You were strong enough to put me in here. Surely you're strong enough to get me out," Nik demands.
"I upset the spirits trying to save Elena. I can't use that kind of magic again. It's to dangerous." Bonnie tries to explain.
"Bonnie do the bloody spell!" Nik shouts, loosing his patience.
Caroline snaps as well, "She said she can't, okay?!We'll just wait a few days, until you're strong enough to do it with traditional magic. Right Bonnie?" Caroline tries to calm the situation.
But doesn't confirm, and Nik angrily rips open Tyler's shirt. He then makes claws appear then slowly shoves it in his chest. "What are you doing?" Caroline panicky shouts at Nik.
"Ripping Tyler's heart out. I'll jump into someone else. Maybe you." Nik threatens Jeremy.
"Nik stop it. Let me help her. Stop it." I shout at him, trying to reason with him, also to try and not have him possess Jeremy.
"Oh my god." Bonnie says, as Nik claws into Tyler's chest.
"Oh my god, stop it." Caroline shouts at him.
"He's bluffing. He needs a witch to do that." Jeremy tries to calm the others down.
"What makes you think I don't have one? or ten?! Pick, Bonnie! You or Tyler!" Nik shouts.
"Stop! Please! You're killing him!" Caroline shouts.
"Fine, I'll do it! Just stop." Bonnie caves and Nik stops.
"Good. Lets begin. And Clara, don't, she can do it." he tells me, a hint of annoyance in his tone. I frown, not liking not being able to help.
They go to Bonnie's witch circle, Nik kneels down and Bonnie stands behind him, putting her hands on his head.
Bonnie begins to chant her spell, a minute passes, then Tyler gasps awake. "Tyler?"? Caroline whispers and Tyler smiles getting up.
"Caroline. Hey." Before he fully stands, he falls over.
"Tyler!" Caroline rushes to his side.
"Bonnie, what are you doing? Bonnie it worked, Stop." Jeremy tries to stop Bonnie.
"What's happening? Let me go! Let me go!" Bonnie shouts at nothing.
"Bonnie?" I question really confused on what's happening.
"Bonnie what's happening?" Caroline questions but gets no answer. Bonnie starts to gasp in pain, dark veins start to appear on her arms.
"Why can't I let her go!" Bonnie shouts in a panic.
"Bonnie stop the spell!" Jeremy tries to get her to stop. The veins then disappears from his arms but she's still panicking.
"I'm sorry grams. They can't do this to you! Please! Don't do this to her!" Bonnie starts to shout into the room.
"Bonnie stop!" Caroline shouts at her best friend.
Bonnie was crying now. "No! No! No! Oh my god." Bonnie sobs, then falls to her knees. "What have I done?! What did I do?" Bonnie cries out.
Jeremy goes down and comforts her. "You're okay. You're okay." Jeremy tells her.
"What did I do?" Bonnie says in distress, tears still falling.
I slowly walk out of the witches house seeing as I'm not needed anymore. The spell worked, which means that Nik is alive. I race off into town, running all the way to the mansion, hoping that's were he'll be.
I walk into the mansion, "Nik!" I shout praying that I'll see him. Before I can take a step, Nik's in front of me.
"Hello, Love." he says. I smile and tears gather in my eyes. "Oh, none of that now. I'm here now." Nik says. placing his hand on my cheek, wiping away a stay tear from my face.
I laugh lightly trying to get myself together. "I thought I lost you." I say to him.
"You can't get rid of me that easily, love." Nik tells me softly, looking into my eyes, his eyes kind, comforting to me. He leans in and kisses me. I lean into him, all my sadness and stress gone now.

Later on that night, Nik was packing up the blood he had gotten from Elena the other day. "How dare you save Caroline over me! Clara I understand but Caroline!" Rebekah demands as she storms in, gesturing to me as I sit in a chair, but the anger and sadness clear in her voice.
"'Hello brother, I thought you were dead. So pleased you're not.'" Nik says pretending to be Rebekah, not looking over towards her.
"You left me." Rebekah says in disbelief.
"I only had so much time sister, besides you can't be killed. Rest assured, I had a worse day then you. I think it's time for us to move on, find some more werewolves." Nik explains.
"So you can create your hybrid family? You don't know anything about family!" Rebekah tells him.
"Well, I know how easily they can be silenced with a dagger." Nik comments which causes Rebekah to snap.
She grabs one of the blood bags and throws it at the wall, causing me to sit up from the suddenly violence. "No!" Nik shouts. She then grabs the other two from the case, tears running down her face, "Drop them." Nik tells his sister.
"I mourned you! My heart broke thinking I'd never see you again!" Rebekah sobs at her brother.
"Put the blood down, Rebekah; there's a good girl." Nik tries to convince her.
"It's always been me! Not Finn. Not Elijah! Not Kol. Me! I loved you through everything and you don't even care." Rebekah tells her brother.
"Drop it!" Nik shouts at her, frustrated at this point.
"You want your family?" Rebekah says then crushes open the blood bags with her hands, "There's your family." then throws it to the ground.
Nik speeds at her and holds her by her neck. "You know something, Rebekah, you are right. I don't care. From this moment on, you're not my family, you're not my sister. You, are, nothing." he tells her then snaps her neck in anger.
Nik looks at me then walks out of the room, anger still in his eyes. I stay where I sat, unsure of what to do. I get up after a few seconds and slowly follow to where Nik left from. I walk to his art room first and see him putting his supplies into a box.
"You should go to bed love, it's been a rough few days for you." Nik says to me, not looking in my direction.
I sigh and walk over to him. I place my hand on his arm and stops moving. "Nik." I say but he cuts me off.
"Just go to bed Clara." He tells me then walks away from me. I sigh and go up to the bedroom and fall asleep almost immediately the stress from everything.
When I wake up the next morning I see a note on the pillow next to me. I sit up confused and pick up the note.

I need to leave that horrible town for a bit, I will return for you soon, but for now live a normal life. Don't worry I'll keep my promise, I'll be seeing soon. Stay safe love.
