Chapter Text
Gojou admits that he doesn’t normally do the laundry. But Getou and the girls were coming for a sleepover and his housekeeper had the day off. Gojou could push off the meeting to next weekend but Tsumiki loves the idea of having sisters and seeing Megumi get conned into getting his nails and hair done by all three of the girls was satisfying. Speaking of Megumi he enlisted the tiny child to help him make his bed.
Looking over at the squinted face that was concentrating hard on pulling the fitted sheet on the corner of the bed. Megumi was sitting on top of the bed to achieve his goal and Gojou didn’t have the heart to tell him it would probably be easier if he was off the sheet. Well not that he didn’t have the heart, he liked to see his kid struggle a little bit.
Megumi sat back with a satisfied sigh, a smug grin on his face that he finally got the sheet on. It was summer so Gojou was forgoing the top sheet and had the duvet in his hands. That’s when he got an idea.
“Hey Megumi-Chan ~” Megumi turned to give him a suspicious look.
“What?”
“Domain Expansion: Unlimited Void.”
Gojou then threw the duvet high overhead. Stretching it out so that when it fell it would fall over Megumi. The child let out giggles that were more appropriate for his age than the way he normally acted. Gojou then pounced, jumping on the bed and effectively trapping Megumi under the covers.
“Hahaha let me out Gojou.” Gojou found Megumi's sides and pressed his fingers to tickle him.
“Only if you say Satoru Gojou is the best in the world.”
“Never!”
“Then you’ll remain in the limitless.” His voice grave although there was a smile on his face. Gojou didn’t notice Tsumiki came into the room. An apron on and her hair pulled back into a ponytail, holding a broom. Megumi was able to poke his head out from the cover.
“Tsumiki! Save me.” He said between the giggles.
Tsumiki hesitated trying to make her decision, looking between the broom and her brother. What was more important: cleaning or joining the fun.
“Doesn’t matter if she helps you or not. I’m sure to win.” Gojou taunted trying to goad Tsumiki into playing. He wanted Tsumiki to have fun as well. His kids were too mature, someone had to be the kid here.
Tsumiki dropped the broom and launched herself at Gojou. “I’m coming to save you Megumi-Chan.”
One thing about Gojou, he isn’t going to let anyone win just for the sake of winning. Yes, that also means the pubescent children that he is taking care of. Catching Tsumiki in one arm and plopping her next to her brother. Gojou then laid his long form on top of them, effectively trapping the kids.
“Oh no, I’m getting tired.” He gave a large fake yawn dropping his head onto the other two. Facing resistance in the form of tiny grubby hands pushing at his face.
“Nooo you can’t sleep we have to clean.” Tsumiki’s laughter finally joined her brothers. “Are you sure because I’m pretty sure it’s nap time.”
Gojou closed his eyes and started to snore.
“You’re so annoying.” Megumi said pulling on Gojou’s cheek.
“If you want to be released from my domain, you know what you need to do.” The little brat pulled harder at his cheeks before huffing.
“Fine Satoru Gojou is the best.” Megumi mumbled looking away from him. Gojou looked expectantly at Tsumiki who’s cheeks were puffed out.
“Satoru Gojou is the best.” Eyes staring back defiantly.
Gojou got what he wanted and released the two. Smugly he turned on his back and put his hands behind his head.
“See was that so hard.”
What Gojou didn’t notice was that a glance passed between Megumi and Tsumiki. In the blink of an eye the two of them attacked Gojou with pillows.
“Traitors!”
On the other side of town in a much calmer home. Getou was staring down Nanako and Mimiko.
“We are only going to be there for one night. You don’t need a large suitcase.”
Getou was trying to be strong, he didn’t know why the girls thought they needed to pack for a week. He was glad that they enjoyed spending time with Gojou and his kids. That means he could keep building what was between him and Gojou. However, he wasn’t trying to move too quickly. They’ve only been seeing each other for a couple of months and the kids only met each other a month ago. It sounded weird, but they wanted to hang out with his partner and his kids more than Getou wanted too. Not that he didn’t like being with Gojou in any capacity. They were both just good at doing what they needed to do individually. If they did something together yes it made it better but it wasn’t needed.
It was Getou’s favorite part about Gojou. How he could be so intertwined in his life but also allow Getou to do what he needs to be done. It helped that neither of them were big fans of other people and they both could feign politeness. It also helped that Gojou seemed to see past his charming mask allowing Getou to be more relaxed and comfortable around him.
“Ge-tou-sama.” Nanako said looking up at him with wide eyes, using the cute nickname of his last name and father mixed together. His children were playing unfair and he was falling for it. Getou taught them all these tricks yet still he crumbled, “We wanted to show Tsumiki some of our dresses. She said we can do a fashion show.”
Poor Megumi, he was definitely going to be the star of said fashion show.
“And I wanted to show Gojou my dolls.” Mimiko chimed in. They were in a silent standstill for another minute or so.
“Fine.”
They cheered.
“I get to choose the outfits though.” Maybe he could save Megumi some of the embarrassment he was going to endure. The girls frowned at that but obediently opened up the suitcase to show them what they had.
Getou pulled out his phone in order to text Gojou the dresses and suits Megumi was going to wear.
I’ll make sure to have the camera ready. ~ Gojou
Getou shook his head and worked with the girls to get the outfits down to only three. They both whined and cried but in the end lived with the decision. Checking his watch he had just enough time to prepare the dinner that he was going to bring over. Getou has learned about Gojou’s abysmal cooking skills from a failed date that ended with them both in the bathroom for hours. Which is why he has taken to providing any meal that wasn’t takeout. If it wasn’t him then it was Tsumiki who was surprisingly adept in the kitchen and can make small meals with adult supervision at the oven; still not Gojou.
“Would you both like to help me make dinner?” The girls looked up at him from where they were nodding their heads quickly.
“Ok get your aprons on.”
Getou wouldn’t call himself a very fashionable person, anyone close to him would say that’s a lie, but he was picky about what he and the girls wore. Which is why he sewed their own matching aprons and he is still very proud of that accomplishment. Getou couldn’t help but snap a picture of Mimiko tying Nanako’s apron for her in the back. Diligently he added to the album on his phone for them and then sent it off to Gojou. Who sent a photo back of Nanami who was lying on the couch head on the arm, Megumi and Tsumiki tucking him in.
I'll try to get rid of him before you get here, but apparently his girlfriend broke up with him. He also quit his job and will now be working with me full time. ~ Gojou
Getou shook his head at that, he has only known them for a short while. But even he knows how bothersome Gojou has been about getting Nanami to work with him and he struck at the blond's lowest point. Is it bad that Getou found that really attractive?
Don’t feign empathy for too long. I’m sure he’ll catch on sooner or later. ~ Getou
The kids are doing it for me. Megumi made him some tea and Tsumiki turned on sad love songs. I’m just putting together his contract, need him to sign before he comes to his senses. ~ Gojou
Your ruthlessness is sexy, try to be nice to your friend. ~ Getou
This is me being nice. ~ Gojou
Getou clicked the phone off and turned back to the task at hand. Pulling the prepared mix of meat and spices out of the fridge along with the dumpling wrappers he already prepared. Together the girls and him worked together to delicately place the meat in the middle, fold and pinch the dumplings and set them to the side to be steamed once they got to Gojou’s.
“Ah, Ge-tou-sama.” Mimiko called out, he turned to her and watched as her tiny fingers pressed gently into the dough.
“Yes.”
“You really like Gojou?”
“I do. Do you?”
Mimiko nodded and so did Nanako.
“We also like Tsumiki and Megumi.”
Getou had a feeling that this was the case but he was happy to hear it actually come from them instead of assuming.
“That’s good, that makes me very happy.” They were silent for a little bit.
“We would also like to see them more often.”
Ah, Getou knew they were leading up to asking for something. Maybe they will need to set up more play dates between the kids. Getou was struck, not for the first time mind you, by how easy this was. The blending of their little families. There is a part of him that thinks about how deeply they all are about falling for one another. It scared him on some level but instead of questioning it or pushing back against it. Getou was just going with the flow and accepting everything that came at him one thing at a time. He didn’t realize he was in such deep thought until there were no more wraps and it was almost time for them to go.
“I’ll finish with this, you two go finish getting ready.”
Getou worked to pack the dumplings into a container. Then took off his own apron and moved to finish getting dressed himself. Heading to his room, he reached up and took his hair out of the ponytail it was in, letting it fall freely. Getou was probably going to put it into his customary bun on top; Gojou loved tugging the hair out of it. Standing in front of the closet he fingered the materials of different outfits. It was supposed to be a very casual night in with the kids. But he wanted to dress up for Gojou. Wanted to tease him in front of the kids.
Getou pulled out a black muscled shirt and fitted grey joggers. Comfortable, but would still keep Gojou’s attention most of the night. Grabbing his own packed duffle and swinging it over his head. Getou walked out to the front door and was going to call for the girls only to see Mimiko sitting on their large roller and Nanako pushing her.
“Let’s go.”
Nanami was still lounging on his couch in anguish. Well it was more like serious sulking, his face didn’t change at all. Gojou sat in his arm chair staring at his friend. Tsumiki was setting the futon out in her room for the girls and Megumi was waiting by the door for his friends to come over for the night. He actually said please when asking and Gojou is pretty sure it’s so he had back up. But his friend Nobara was more likely to take the girl's side and dress up both Megumi and Yuji.
“Either you leave or take the kids to the park when Getou comes here so I can have a quickie.”
“You’re disgusting.” Nanami retorted.
“Disgustingly in a relationship unlike you.”
“How did you raise kids with more emotional maturity than you.” Gojou gasped and grasped his chest.
“You wound me,” There was a knock on the door. “Go open the door my new peon. While I put away your contract.”
Gojou grabbed the contract off the table and watched as Nanami slowly pulled himself up. He wasn’t worried about his friend. Nanami wasn’t the type to be downtrodden for too long. It wasn’t in his nature. Gojou kept an ear out for who was at the door. Either Choso, Yuji’s brother, or Yujis grandpa. Sounded like it was Choso, he rarely heard Nanami make conversation with the grandpa.
Standing up, Gojou made his way to his office to put the contract away. He had to pass the front door so he got to see Megumi and Yuji both holding onto Nobara’s hands. She was talking a mile a minute and the other two were listening avidly. Her mother must have dropped her off at the same time and then disappeared. Choso stayed to exchange a few words with Nanami it seems. Gojou wished they all attended the same school because he would love to put Megumi in their class. Alas, the two went to separate primaries. Looking away from the children to Nanami who was leaning against the doorway talking to Choso. Gojou couldn’t resist slithering up behind his friend and draping his arms over him.
“Choso~”
Choso was dressed in scrubs either on his way from or to work. The younger man's face didn’t have any outward reaction to the way Gojou said his name. At first he thought Gojou was flirting but Nanami informed him of Gojou’s personality.
“Thank you for allowing Yuji to stay the night. It made it easier for me to pick up a late shift,” Choso bowed his head in thanks.
“No problem, no problem. If you ever need someone to watch him just let us know. Megumi loves him, plus Nanami will be having a lot more time on his hands.”
Choso shot the blonde a look, “I’ll inform you later.” Choso gave a stiff nod.
“Then I’ll be on my way. Yuji.” Choso called out, Yuji turned to look at his older brother, “I’m leaving.”
Instead of tearing his hand away from the other two he tugged them all over to Choso for a hug. Nobara didn’t mind but Megumi huffed a little. Megumi had declared Choso his rival for Yuji. It was cute and childish. When Megumi got older, Gojou would be ready with the dramatic retelling. The best part is Choso played along with it. Looking at Choso whose face was always serious and didn’t seem like he could take a joke proclaiming that Megumi was his arch nemesis back was hilarious. Even better because the tone of his voice didn't change at all when it happened. Like declaring a child your arch nemesis was something he did very often.
Choso patted all three of the children’s heads and said goodbye to Gojou.
“I’ll walk you out Choso, I’m being chased out anyway.” Nanami said grabbing his jacket, Choso nodded his head and waited for the blond.
Huh, Gojou didn’t know that they hung out. He could tell by the easy talking and their body language that they were comfortable with one another. Also the coffee comment, Gojou pouted at that, where was his invite? Closing the door after them he filed the contract in his home office.
Walking back out he heard more voices join the cacophony of other adolescents. Turning the corner to see the twins and Tsumiki. Getou is here. Gojou had to force himself to say hello to the twins before easily gravitating to the kitchen to be with the other. A steam basket was set up over a pot of boiling water for food. Getou was washing up at the sink and Gojou couldn’t resist sidling up behind him. Wrapping his long arms around his waist and laying his head on Getou’s shoulder.
“I saw Nanami and Choso on my way in.” Getou said as he rinsed off another dish.
“So, you’re here to see me anyway, not them.” Getou made a tsk sound with his tongue but Gojou could see the corner of his lips were lifted.
Getou turned off the water and reached for a towel to dry his hands. Before turning in Gojou’s arms so they were facing each other. Gojou kept his arms around his waist and Getou reached up to tug his face closer to him by his chin. Gojou rather enjoyed that move which he telegraphed his pleasure by being particularly active in their first kiss of the night. Following it up with a couple of pecks, the intimate moment ended when they heard giggling behind them.
Gojou leaned away from Getou and took off his ever present glasses. Folding them up and handing them over to Getou. Giving him a wink he turned around and launched himself at the gaggle of kids that were just laughing at them.
“Do you all want kisses too?” Shrieks were heard and Gojou gave chase.
Getou thought all the kids had run away from Gojou only to find Tsumiki had quietly arrived at his side.
“Didn’t want to play with the others?” She shook her head. Getou admired the intricate braid in her hair. Gojou told him that he started doing it to bond with Tsumiki in the beginning. They would sit quietly while Gojou would comb, part, and braid her hair. Despite popular belief when you’re touchstarved you don’t automatically rush into holding others to fix it. Some things needed to be gradual.
It was a vulnerable moment between the two adults. Gojou admitting his own touchaversion when it came to others had to be put aside for kids who weren’t held nearly enough. Hair braiding was simple, small touches. But the way you take care of someone’s hair can also show how much you love them.
Gojou really had so many people fooled, Getou was happy that he wasn’t one of them.
“Can I help?” Tsumiki asked quietly.
There wasn’t much else to help with but she wanted to learn and it sounds like there was something else. It was also a good time for Getou to bond with One of Gojou’s precious people. Tsumiki could ask him what she wanted to ask him and he would answer.
“Of course, someone in this house needs to make sure you all don’t die of food poisoning.” Tsumiki giggled at that and Getou took it as a win.
He spent the next couple of minutes showing her when the steam dumplings were done. He helped him out with the rice and together they crafted a decent seaweed salad. It was nice and Getou appreciated Tsumiki's company especially with all the chaotic sounds happening outside the kitchen.
“Getou.” Tsumiki started as she was grabbing plates from the cabinets.
Getou hummed in acknowledgement.
“Megumi and I really like Mimiko and Nanako.” Why was this eerily reminiscent of the earlier conversation he had with his own girls, in a kitchen as well.
“That’s good.”
“We like you as well.”
Getou’s heart swelled at that, “That makes me very happy.”
“But,” Getou started to feel a little uneasy, “we won’t like you as much if you make Gojou sad.”
Getou was getting a shovel talk from a child and it only made sense. He wondered if Gojou truly understood how protective these kids are of him. Getou turned off the stove and crouched down so he could be eye to eye with Tsumiki.
“Thank you for sharing this with me. I know it took a lot of courage, I can’t promise you that I won’t make Gojou sad sometimes. It’s the nature of human relationships but I promise that I’ll try to avoid that as much as possible.” Tsumiki was biting her lip, looking down and clutching the plates tightly as he spoke. “You know another thing Tsumiki.”
Her head popped up and Getou gave her a gentle smile, “Gojou would be very proud of you for crafting a distraction just to talk to me alone.”
Tsumiki's eyes widened, “You knew?”
Getou put a finger up to his lips, “Our little secret. Now go get you pesky brother and my little demons to help you set the table. Dinner is ready.”
Dinner was had and a fashion show was put on by the kids. A reluctant Megumi and a not so reluctant Nobara were the models. Yuji kept bugging Gojou to take pictures of his friends so could have Choso frame it for him. Tsumiki and the twins were standing smugly off to the side. The three of them were definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Towards the end of the night the kids started to drop off one by one until none were left. The girls all squished onto Tsumiki's bed with Megumi and Yuji clutching each other on the futon on the floor.
Finally the exhausted adults were cuddled on the couch with music on in the background. Gojou, like the large house cat he was, laid across Getou heavily. Getou’s hands found their way under Gojou’s shirt kneading the skin there in a comforting way.
“Your child threatened me.” Getou felt Gojou tense before relaxing again.
“You too? They launched a whole attack. Megumi and his gang sat on my back while Mimiko and Nanako gave me stern talk in their cute little voices.” Getou had to smother his laughter, it seemed his talk was much more tame. He goes on to explain what happened to him only for Gojou to pout.
“They are obviously playing favorites.”
“I guess I’m more likeable.” Getou replied.
Gojou hummed, sitting up and sliding his knee in between Getou’s legs.
“Can’t argue with that. I find you very lickable.”
“You're shameless.”
Gojou licked his lips and smiled. “Oh so you don’t want to be licked by me?”
“Now I never said that. You're putting words in my mouth and I’m pretty sure there are better things you can be putting there.”
Gojou chuckled at that and stood up from the couch holding his hand out, “I can make that happen. To the bedroom we go.”
