Chapter Text
"Brother, what is the meaning of this?!"
The double oak doors were slammed open, followed by the clicking of shoes against the smooth floor coming towards the tall brunette man hunched over the table. The brunette had a golden crown adorning his neat hair, emerald gems decorating it. He was wearing royal wear, made out of the rarest and finest silk of the five kingdoms. Though, his lavish cloak was hung over one of the chairs. A deep sigh left the older man's lips as he turned to face his sister's enraged face, dark eyes studying her in an almost lazy manner that nearly implied he was mocking her.
"I thought it was time our youngest sister finally knew of what has been happening back home."
"She's a traitor to our kingdom and abandoned us! She has no place here." It was no surprise that his sister- the second eldest of the family, would have held a grudge against the youngest. However, it has been nearly twenty years since he had last seen her, there was no reason to be hostile. In all honestly, the youngest is not at fault for wanting to leave in the first place, even if it would seem as if shes abandoning her role as a royal member.
To be fair, who would want to uphold the role if no one is going to respect you, anyway?
The years made the eldest son reflect on his views- in not just his people, but his sister as well. He had regret not doing anything to help her, guilt for not even reaching out.
But that will change tonight. The son picked up the small heated tool, and poured red wax over the envelope, sealing it. The eldest sister watched, her mouth agape as the son stamped the kingdom sigil on the wax.
"You must stop this at once, brother! What good will come out of it?!"
The son paused, now looking up to stare at his sister in the eye. He smiled.
"Perhaps closure. You should try to smile more, Sister Jeal. Maybe you'll start to like it more."
His sister gawked at her, having no response as the brother picked up the envelope and exited the office. The doors were softly shut, and the sister soon found herself alone in the room, with only candles lighting up the room.
"Joy... What are you doing?"
