Summary
Tommy Innit moves in with a strange new foster family. The Watsons are... a little too nice, if you ask him. The other shoe has to drop at some point, and he won't let himself be caught off guard by it. Especially when a secret that he's been trying to hide for his entire life is on the line.
In the meantime, he and his best friends pick up an exhilarating new hobby in (illegally) fighting crime. They quickly find themselves being drawn into the world of heroes, vigilantes, and villains in more ways than they would have liked.

The Watsons aren't the most normal family, even just by appearances, but they try their hardest to do good for the city. Everybody needs a hero now and then, especially the stubborn foster kid that has recently moved into their home. It's a shame they can't even reveal their actual careers to him.

Greg wanted a family with Rose so much, and he knew that in doing this very normal thing, he and Rose would be creating something extraordinary, something unlike anything to exist before. Being the parent of a half-human, half-gem hybrid wouldn’t be easy, would be fraught with the weird and the confusing, but Greg was ready for that. He wanted a child, and he knew before they were born he would love them with everything in him.
What Greg was most certainly not ready for, as no parent ever is, were the signs, years later, that something was very, very wrong with his son.
