Chapter Text
Hi all! So I’m going to preface this by saying that the person currently speaking (or I guess writing) is not the author of this 911 fic. My girlfriend Grace and I have been running a joint AO3 account for a while now.I write my hero academia things while she writes the 911 fic and lots of Marvel stuff. I’m popping in just to let you guys know that until further notice, Grace will be discontinuing this 911 fanfiction.
I know, I’m just as sad as all of you, but this is not without good reason. Grace’s aunt was diagnosed with cancer a while back, and has unfortunately passed away from it quite recently. Grace was very close with her aunt and is currently suffering a great deal, and to try and continue a fanfiction about cancer while already grieving would just be adding insult to injury. She is upset and feels guilty to leave the story and her readers behind, but I’ve done my best to assure her that none of you will hold it against her. Personal loss is not something to take lightly, and for as proud as I am of her for how successful this story has become, I won’t stand by and let her put herself through unnecessary hurt and suffering just to write. She’s agreed that the best decision is to take some time off and mourn.
Whether or not this story will be picked back up in the future is not for me to decide. I think that it should be permanently discontinued, but it is not my place to choose for her what she wants to do. If she chooses someday to continue the story, that’s up to her, but for now we’ve both decided that she needs to take a break. I hope you all can understand and we thank you for your continued support and patience. I apologize for having to stop this story, I’m so incredibly proud of her and I’m sure most of you are too.
Please keep Grace and her family in your thoughts, and we hope to see you again soon.
Emma
