Summary
Since he’s moved to LA he’s never hosted a dinner party, or Christmas for that matter. It’s mostly just been him and Chris.
“I’m putting the gravy in the middle of the table Eddie, you can’t put the parsnips there.”
Except this year, Buck and Eddie are hosting the 118 Christmas dinner party at Eddie’s house since Buck still lives with them.
Evan Buckley seems to be running the place like the navy and Eddie’s clearly not doing anything right.

What the fuck.
That’s the only thing playing in Eddie’s mind as he watches Buck pause at the threshold on his way to the car.
It’s a Tuesday morning, right before Eddie, Buck, and Chris are supposed to leave for work and school respectively, and Buck is holding a gorgeous bouquet of flowers.
What the fuck!
The whole team had Monday off, so Ravi had invited them all to a party at some fun rodeo themed bar over the weekend, and now...
Now Eddie is so hung over he’s seeing things. He’s hallucinating beautiful flowers at his front door. He’s imagining his best friend holding a bouquet of sunflowers and eucalyptus and snapdragons and baby’s breath. Honestly, kudos to his brain for creating such an array of flowers, because there is no way that this is real.
Eddie’s brain repeats again:

“I love Eddie like he’s my – my brother,” Buck tries, both hands out for emphasis, decidedly ignoring the unsettled feeling between his ribcage at the statement. It’s fine.
“You love Eddie the same way that you love me?” Maddie asks, and well, shit.

“Who’s this?” asks the stranger. The audacity. Eddie should be the one asking that.
“Oh, uh,” Buck swallows. “This is Eddie, and Chris,”
“This is Eddie…” the stranger doesn’t sound pleased.
“And Chris,” Eddie adds. “And you are?”
“Edward,” Buck says. “My, my date.”
Eddie’s stomach sinks.
“I told you this shouldn’t have been a surprise.” Chris says, slightly embarrassed.
No. Absolutely not. Eddie hasn’t gone through a gut wrenching month of trying to figure out his life—his sexuality—only for the love of his life to be on a date as soon as things start to get better. He’s moved across states twice in the same goddamn month just to keep the two halves of his heart close, for god’s sake. He might not financially recover from this, but he refuses to take an emotional hit at the same level. Besides, what kind of name is Edward?

Summary
“Oh, Buck,” Karen’s voice took him from his thoughts, and he went back to listening. “You know that’s not the case. Maddie and Chim are still here. We’re still here. Bobby and Athena are still here.”
“But you all have each other," Buck replied. “Maddie has Chim, and you have Hen, and Bobby has Athena. Eddie and Chris? They were mine.”
“And they still are, Buck,” Hen said. “They always will be.”
“Will they, though?” Buck asked. “What happens when Eddie moves back to Texas, and he starts laying down roots there right with Chris? What-what happens when he meets somebody that loves them more than…than anything in the world, and they forget me ?”
****
Denny overhears a conversation between his mothers and Buck about Eddie moving to Texas, and asks Chris via the group chat he and the other 118 kids are in together. Chris is being held hostage in Texas by his grandparents, and desperately is trying to return to LA. With the help of the 118, can the teens get Chris back home and save Christmas?
