Talking About our Feelings with Friends

Chapter 2

Summary:

Cliffhanger ending was bugging me so part 2 with Moony Moon. Is Gregory the next missing kid? Or will he be able to break through…

Chapter Text

Gregory’s heart sped up, thumping loudly in his chest as he tried to figure out what to do next, cursing himself for getting too comfortable with any of the animatronics in this place. He felt he could trust Sunny like he had Freddy, but now Sunny was ‘asleep’ and Moon was now surrounding him.

“Hmph… Naughty, naughty, Sunny. Now we’re going to have to see a technician.” Moon inspects the hand which Sunny tore the casing off of, of course not removing his limbs from Gregory.

“S-Sunny isn’t naughty.” Gregory would like to slap himself for drawing attention back to him.

“He is.” Moon hums, “Quite naughty, not playing by the rules. He knows he’s supposed to share.” The robot traces along Gregory’s chin making him shiver and pull back from the touch with a noise of discomfort. Much to Gregory’s surprise the animatronic pulls its hand back from him going back to caging the boy in its limbs instead. “Now what to do with you little naughty one…” A raspy chuckle next to his ear makes Gregory squeak.

Panicking does not help his brain think and the next thing he says is a question, “W-Why is your voice so scratchy? S-shouldn’t it be clean l-like Sunny’s.” He really is going to die tonight isn’t he?

“We have separate voices.” Moon humors the question. “We may share most parts but voice boxes are different.” The robot shrugs.

“So is it broken?” Gregory winces.

“Yes and no.” Is the cryptic reply as suddenly the limbs around him press tighter against his skin.

“N-not so tight!” He whimpers, legs kicking slightly trying to fight against the animatronic but he also doesn’t want to have the tense situation get worse.

“Shh.” Moon hisses on alert for something nearby. Gregory immediately silences himself and tries to keep his breathing to as minimal as possible, heart pounding in his ears. One deadly animatronic was enough, thank you.

It’s painfully silent for a while before Moon relaxes his hold ever so slightly, “She is searching for you… She wants you… He wants you too…” Gregory jumps as Moon speaks again, accidentally knocking his head against the edge of the faceplate.

“Ow…” He whines as quietly as he can before whimpering. “A-are you going t-to take me to her?” His voice betrays his fear.

Moon suddenly roughly grabs him into his arms and leaps up, climbing the play equipment and launching himself off the top going into a moment of freefall which makes Gregory nearly shriek as suddenly they are yanked upward by a cable Moon had caught. Gregory’s stomach does flips as Moon finally lands on the balcony that Sunny had originally lept off of to dive into the ball pit.

“P-please don’t do that again.” Gregory whines more than he means to but it gets the message across.

“It was the most efficient path.” Moon shrugs and deposits him on a dusty bean bag. With a snap of the robot's fingers a bunch of nightlights and glowing strings of lights turn on.

“I thought the power was out.” Gregory squints suspiciously.

“It is and isn’t.” Moon says simply. “Lean your head down between your knees.” He orders, red eyes watching Gregory.

“Why. So you don’t have to watch me?” Gregory grouses, he didn’t like where this was going, and he wanted Freddy to come and get him now.

“I detected blood.” Moon grouses, closing the distance and pressing the boy down a bit roughly.

“Hey!” He tries to wiggle free but Moon isn’t letting him go anywhere.

“Stay still.” Moon hisses.

“You shouldn’t be so mean!” Gregory growls.

“Mean?” Suddenly the pressure is off Gregory’s back as the lunar animatronic backs up a few steps. “I am not mean.”

“Yes you are! You are touching me without asking! You are being too rough!” Gregory crosses his arms. “Sunny even said you were mean to Neil and Marie!” He’s fed up with the weird animatronic.

“Naughty people get punished.” Moon hisses. “Don’t make me punish you.”

“What gives you the right to punish them?” Gregory scowls. “What did they do to you?”

“You ask too many questions.” The animatronic squints and turns to rifle through a pile of something, “Neil didn’t ask. I took him in time out. Marie didn’t ask. I put her in time out.” He turns back with a first aid kit.

“You hurt them.” Gregory growls, flinching as Moon comes closer.

“They got punished.”

“Was hurting them part of the punishment? Did they deserve being hurt?” Gregory hisses, “No one deserves being hurt. No one should be punished just because they didn’t ask.”

“Head down.” Moon grumbles.

“Hypocrite.” Gregory crosses his arms, glaring into Moon’s eyes.

“That is a big word for you-”

“You are a hypocrite. You are saying that they didn’t ask and now you aren’t!” Gregory insists. “You are the one being naughty, not them, not Sunny, not me.”

Moon seems to freeze at that. A fan whirring somewhere which means he’s processing something. Gregory sits uncomfortably, he doesn’t think he can reach the door he sees behind Moon in time and jumping down into the ballpit is a recipe for disaster. He’s stuck and an uncomfortable sticky feeling is growing in his hair, making him reach behind his head to lightly touch the injured area, wincing as his fingers feel wet and grimacing as they come back red.

“Don’t touch your injury, that leads to infection.” Moon’s raspy voice returns. “Bend your head down and I will clean it up.”

“I can do it.” Gregory growls, not really wanting the animatronic to touch him- wait… Moon’s eyes were red before weren’t they? How come they are gold now…

“I am sure you can. But it will be easier if you allow me to do it. Please?” Moon rasps, voice as soft as he can make it.

“…You asked…” Gregory blinks.

“Please? The longer we wait the worse it will be.” The lunar animatronic keeps its distance from him.

“…Okay… But no funny business.” Gregory says, leaning over so Moon can access the injury easier.

“…No funny business.” Moon quietly says before kneeling and getting to work, quietly narrating what he is doing to Gregory. Luckily the injury was minor, already scabbing over just some light clean up needed. “Please don’t touch your injury. It will need a bit to heal, but I have removed all the excess blood from your hair.” Moon sighs and sits back against the wall nearby.

Gregory sits up and looks over at him, before slowly standing and walking to be in front of the lunar animatronic which only watches the movement. Without a word, Gregory slowly settled into Moon’s limbs, back against Moon’s chest and pulls Moon’s arm around him like he had with Sunny. “…Are you better now?”

“I am… Purging the virus from my system was no easy task… You helped… Thank you.” Moon says, voice box straining audibly as he keeps his voice low.

“I’m glad you’re better… Does Sunny know? Does she know?” He asks.

“I- I cannot face my brother just yet… She will know soon, I am sure of it… But you are safe here. I promise.”

“You should apologize to Sunny and talk with him… He missed you.” Gregory leans back some more against Moon, glad that like Sunny he’s warm.

“I will… I will…” Moon says quietly, leaning his head back and shutting his eyes, sending the first message to his brother in far too long.

Sunny? I am sorry… I am back…

If their faceplate could move out of its permanent smile a smaller soft one would replace it as he feels Sunny’s code wrap around his in a warm overjoyed hug.

I missed you too…
