Summary:

Harry's POV, final chapter woop woop!

Notes:

I am so tired right now, I don't even care if this is good. I just want it to be done. On that note, if this isn't coherent I deeply apologize and will likely fix it after a quick nap.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Harry woke up laying against something. Something firm, and warm, and damn my bed smells better than I remember. Like parchment, and mint, and faintly like apples. Harry slowly opened his eyes, quickly blushing as he took in the scene before him. Oh, yeah. I’m not in bed, this is fine! Everything's a-okay! Somehow he had ended up wrapped around Draco like a koala as he slept. Though the sentiment doesn’t go unreturned; Draco’s arms are wrapped around me in a snug embrace, holding me close. His head tilted back against the castle walls in what looked like an incredibly uncomfortable position. Though that discomfort didn’t show in his face, the usual sneer smoothed away into an expression of pure relaxation. He looked rather handsome actually.

After Harry has gotten his fill of gawking, he quickly realizes how dark it’s gotten. Well I never did intend to go to my classes anyways. Casting a quick tempus, he learns that dinner is about fifteen minutes away. Harry’s stomach rumbling reminds him of his earlier unsuccessful lunch. Merlin, the whole school probably knows at this point. Well I guess we could always get dinner from the kitchens, I haven’t gone to see the house elves recently anyways. Harry’s inner musings are quickly interrupted by a soft grunt from the boy under him as he slowly wakes up. With a grunt Draco says something that sounds like, “stop moving around,” though Harry couldn’t be sure. Before he quickly tightens his grip and pulls Harry even closer, evidently trying to go back to sleep.

I am a weak, weak man. God, was that precious though. No, wait. Food. I need dinner, I can’t afford to be distracted right now. “Draco,” a subtle grunt in response.

“Draco, you need to get up,” the arms wrapped around his middle, tightening slightly.

“Draco, seriously! It’s time to wake up,” a set of mismatched eyes cracking open to look at him. This is the first time I’ve actually fully seen the new edition, it’s stunning. Very Slytherin, it suits him. Draco looks at him expectantly, Oh shit he said something. “Heh, I’m sorry I was kind of distracted. What’d you just say?” Harry asked sheepishly.

Draco visibly softened at this, “I really hope you don’t make it a habit of not listening, Potter!” he said in a stern voice. Though the soft smile on his face says otherwise. “I said, your friends were looking for you earlier. Evidently they didn’t do a very good job.”

“Oh yeah. They don’t have the map, I keep that hidden. I rather like knowing where people are, but not a big fan when it’s the other way around.” Harry said with a shrug of his shoulders.

“The map? What map?” Draco asked with a confused look on his face.

I keep forgetting that Draco and I haven’t always been close. It just feels so natural to be around him. “God I have so much to tell you, but now really isn’t the time plus I think my leg is cramping. We could just go to the kitchens for dinner.” Harry said as he slowly stood up, offering Draco his hand when he got to his feet. Draco took it gratefully, gracefully getting to his feet.

“Actually, I think I’ll be seeing you in the Great Hall.” Draco said, darting forward to press a kiss to Harry’s cheek, turning and walking out of the corridor. Harry is left to stand there, dumbfounded and alone in the abandoned corridor. What the fuck was that? Well, there’s only one way to find out. With a sigh Harry set off to the Great Hall.

The first thing Harry noticed as he entered the Great Hall was basically every pair of eyes on him as whispers broke out across the different tables. Well shit. I guess I wasn’t wrong earlier. The only set of eyes I really care about though slowly look over to me from his conversation. Following me as I make my way to my seat next to Hermione. He’s planning something I can tell. I have experience okay, said experience definitely isn’t stalking. Right? Anyways I doubt it’s going to be malicious or hatecrimey this time, but it’s certainly something! What is he up to-

“Harry James Potter,” Oh shit that’s her mom voice, “Where have you been since lunch? You didn’t even go to classes!” Hermione asked in a shrill voice.

“Oh you know. Here and there. Doing my thing.” Harry answered distractedly, mind still elsewhere.

Hermione’s eyebrows scrunched together, “Harry you can’t just disappear for hours on end! We were worried sick!”

“Well, that’s not exactly an out of character thing for me to do. When am I not just disappearing, off to do who knows what?” Harry asked, still focused in the distance. Can’t they just worry about me some other time? I’m trying to figure out what this handsome bastard is planning… Maybe if I try hard enough I can read his mind. Hmmm, nope.

“Harry? Mate, come on, at least tell us what you were doing.” Damn now he’s joining the interrogation.

“Uh, well I was, uh…” Harry’s voice cut off as he glanced back at Draco only to find him getting out of his seat and starting to saunter across the Great Hall. Wow. Snape has the audacity to say that I strut, even going as far as to bring my father into it, when this git is part of his own house. Unbelievable. Ohshithe’sclose-

Draco paused in front of Harry for a split second before smoothly straddling his lap, back against the table. Harry’s hands instantly found their place on Draco's waist, he slowly looked up to meet his eyes.

“My, my what a coincidence it is to see you here, Potter.” Draco says, expression dancing with mirth.

“Hm, yes. Quite a coincidence indeed to be seeing you here Draco. In my lap of all places. Should’ve known you’d be one for the dramatics ,” Harry replied, uncaring of the growing whispers throughout the Great Hall nor the looks from his fellow housemates. His attention was solely for Draco now.

“Naturally,” a smile erupted across his face, “Ready to make up for that lackluster kiss from earlier, Harry?” Draco asked a challenging lilt to his voice.

“I believe I am, the real question is are you ready?”

Draco moved in closer so their noses were touching, close enough to feel the ghost of lips against his own. “I rather think I am actually,” Draco says close enough for Harry to feel the warm breath against his lips. Then there is something entirely different against his lips, he returns the kiss deepening it slightly. He can feel Draco sigh contentedly against his lips. Wow, this kiss is already far better than the one shared mere hours earlier. As their lips broke apart awkward laughter and wolf whistling could be heard throughout the Great Hall.

“So that’s what you were planning and you couldn’t bring me in on it?” Harry asks with a small pout across his face.

“Well I needed a genuine reaction, love!” Harry could feel the blood rushing to his face. How could he say that so smoothly!? He’s even smirking! Merlin, this is not fair. Draco slowly leans down once more, “Anyways, I think it was a rather good plan. Now they all know you’re mine,” finishing as he connects their lips once again. This time Harry’s the one sighing into the kiss.

I guess it was a rather good plan.
